Abstract

Inflammation is a biological response of the body to infection and tissue damage that may trigger various health disorders, including respiratory system disorders. Medicinal plants are known to contain secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins that function as natural anti-inflammatory agents. Pekanbaru Urban Forest possesses a high diversity of plants potentially utilized as traditional medicinal resources; however, information regarding anti-inflammatory plants in this area remains limited. This study aimed to inventory anti-inflammatory plants found in Pekanbaru Urban Forest. The research was conducted from December 2025 to April 2026 using a descriptive exploratory method through field exploration techniques. Plant identification was carried out based on morphological characteristics and supported by literature studies related to bioactive compounds and anti-inflammatory activities. The results showed that 16 plant species belonging to 10 families, and 8 orders possessed anti-inflammatory properties. These plants contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins which play roles in inhibiting inflammatory processes. The most dominant families found were Myrtaceae and Fabaceae. The findings indicate that Pekanbaru Urban Forest has potential as a source of anti-inflammatory medicinal plants that can support herbal research development and biodiversity conservation.

Abstract

The increasing number of motor vehicles in Indonesia has raised fuel consumption and exhaust emissions that pollute the air. Octane boosters are believed to improve combustion quality and thereby reduce the exhaust emissions of gasoline engines. This study aims to determine the effect of low-cost octane booster mixture variation on CO, CO₂, and HC exhaust emission levels of a Honda Brio engine stand (1,198 cc SOHC i-VTEC). An experimental method with a Posttest Only Control Group Design was applied, consisting of four treatment groups: pure Pertalite fuel (K0) and Pertalite mixed with octane booster at doses of 5 ml/L (K1), 10 ml/L (K2), and 15 ml/L (K3). Emission measurements were taken using a gas analyzer with three repetitions per group. The results show that octane booster addition reduced CO levels from 7.00% (K0) to 6.70% (K3) and HC levels from 694 ppm (K0) to 480 ppm (K3), while CO₂ levels increased from 5.9% (K0) to 6.3% (K3). The most significant emission reduction occurred within the 5-10 ml/L dose range, and the 15 ml/L dose produced the best emission results among the tested variations. These findings indicate that adding a low-cost octane booster improves the combustion process of the Honda Brio engine and has potential to be integrated as a contextual learning medium in automotive engineering education.

Abstract

This study formulates a methodological framework for empirical legal research assessing law enforcement effectiveness. A structured literature review was conducted using a PICO framework adapted to socio-legal inquiry. Population refers to law-enforcement studies and settings; intervention concerns the application of legal norms and official action; comparison covers before-and-after conditions, jurisdictions, institutions, or law in books versus law in action; and outcomes include compliance, access, consistency, procedural justice, case resolution, and perceived legitimacy. Sources comprise journal articles published in 2020–2026, methodology books, and legislation. The thematic synthesis indicates that effectiveness cannot be adequately inferred merely from the existence of rules or the volume of coercive action. Measurement must integrate legal substance, institutional capacity and integrity, facilities, community responses, legal culture, and consequences for target groups. The proposed design combines indicator operationalisation, triangulation of documents, interviews, observation and administrative records, defensible sampling, data-quality checks, and an explicit explanation of the relationship between norms, processes, and outcomes. This framework improves the validity of assessment and supports contextual and testable recommendations for law enforcement reform..

Abstract

Filtration is an important separation Islam is a comprehensive religion that regulates not only ritual worship but also all aspects of human life, including national affairs, power, government, and political education (fiqh siyasah). This study aims to formulate the core principles of Islamic political law and the channels of political education from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith. This formulation is crucial to ensure that dynamic political developments remain aligned with Shari'ah norms and are capable of building a political culture of a civilized society. Employing a library research method, this study formulates six fundamental principles of Islamic political law: sovereignty, justice, consultation (syura) and consensus (ijma'), equality, reciprocal rights and obligations between the state and the people, and amar ma'ruf nahi munkar. In the Qur'an, power is conceptualized through the terms Sulthan (physical ability/coercion), Mulk (ownership right), and Hukm (organizing order). This study emphasizes that leadership is a sacred trust and responsibility to ensure public welfare without tyranny or deception. Furthermore, to build a political culture of a civilized society, political education must be effectively channeled through two avenues: formal education in schools and community education through political party cadre development and socialization.

Abstract

Character building in elementary school students has become one of the primary concerns in education due to the various moral and social challenges in the modern era. One of the efforts to strengthen students' character is through the implementation of Pancasila values as the foundation of national life. This article aims to examine the implementation of Pancasila values as an effort to build the character of elementary school students through a literature review approach. The study employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected from various sources, including books, scientific articles, journals, and relevant official documents, and were analyzed using content analysis by reviewing, comparing, and synthesizing information from the literature. The findings indicate that the implementation of Pancasila values can be carried out through integration into the learning process, teachers' role modeling, habituation of positive behavior in the school environment, and collaboration among schools, families, and communities. These efforts contribute to the development of students' religious, disciplined, honest, responsible, tolerant, caring, cooperative, and patriotic character. Therefore, the implementation of Pancasila values serves as an effective strategy for fostering students' character in accordance with the nation's noble values while supporting the realization of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Continental Food Processing subject at SMK Negeri 3 Kediri City, characterized by passive attitudes, lack of active participation, and low student engagement caused by the dominant use of a monotonous direct instruction model. This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in the basic sauce material. The method used was quasi-experimental with an Equivalent Control Group Design, involving class X Culinary 2 as the experimental group (n=36) and class X Culinary 4 as the control group (n=35), selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using normality, homogeneity, independent sample t-test, and simple linear regression tests. The results showed an increase in the mean score of the experimental group from 56.11 to 78.61, while the control group increased from 55.71 to 66.29. The independent sample t-test on post-test data produced a significance value of <0.001 (<0.05), leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of Ha. The 12.325-point difference in post-test mean scores proves that the TGT learning model is more effective than the direct instruction model in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the epistemology of science learning in primary schools through a literature review approach. The review focuses on how scientific knowledge is constructed, validated, represented, and negotiated in classrooms when AI is employed as a pedagogical support tool. Twenty-five national and international articles published between 2024 and 2026 were selected based on thematic relevance to primary education, science instruction, AI literacy, and epistemic dimensions of learning. The findings indicate that AI can strengthen conceptual exploration, learning personalization, scientific visualization, adaptive feedback, and students’ epistemic agency. At the same time, the review identifies risks related to cognitive dependency, informational bias, blurred knowledge authority, and weakened scientific verification when teachers do not guide AI use critically. The pedagogical implications highlight that AI should not replace scientific reasoning; instead, it should function as a mediator that supports students in asking questions, comparing evidence, testing explanations, and reflecting on how knowledge is produced. The review recommends strengthening teachers’ AI literacy, data literacy, and epistemic literacy so that AI integration in primary science learning remains ethical, reflective, and oriented toward the development of scientific reasoning from an early age.

Abstract

The Alfaclass program is an industry-based vocational education partnership designed to strengthen the alignment between vocational schools and the labor market by enhancing students' competencies and work readiness. However, the effectiveness of the program has not been comprehensively evaluated. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Alfaclass program at SMKN 1 Lemahabang, Cirebon Regency, using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) evaluation model. A mixed-methods approach with a convergent parallel design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires administered to teachers and students, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, productive teachers, students, alumni, and representatives of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. The quantitative instrument was validated using Aiken's V and Percentage of Agreement, whereas qualitative data credibility was ensured through triangulation based on the trustworthiness criteria of Lincoln and Guba. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-score transformation, and the Glickman Quadrant Prototype, while qualitative data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings revealed that the Context component was categorized as positive, whereas the Input, Process, and Product components were categorized as negative. The overall evaluation produced a (+−−−) pattern, indicating that the Alfaclass program was less effective. Although the program was relevant to industry needs and vocational education objectives, its effectiveness was constrained by limitations in resource readiness, implementation consistency, and graduate employability. The study concludes that improving institutional support, strengthening school–industry collaboration, enhancing learning facilities, and establishing a more transparent recruitment mechanism for Alfaclass graduates are essential to improve the effectiveness of industry-based vocational education programs.

Abstract

Indonesian English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students persistently struggle with speaking proficiency, a challenge exacerbated by teacher-centered instruction that lacks authentic communicative practice. This study aims to investigate the effect of paired podcast activities—unscripted, collaborative digital audio tasks—on students' speaking proficiency. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design, the research involved 46 second-semester students at Universitas Hamzanwadi, assigned to an experimental group (n=29) and a control group (n=17). Data were collected through speaking performance tests evaluated via an analytic rubric (assessing pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension) and a post-intervention student questionnaire. Wilcoxon Signed-Rank tests revealed significant within-group improvements for both cohorts. While the Mann-Whitney U test indicated no statistically significant difference in post-test scores between the groups (p = 0.378), the experimental group demonstrated a descriptively higher mean gain (2.55 vs. 1.24), predominantly in fluency and vocabulary, alongside a homogenized proficiency variance. Furthermore, a medium practical effect size (Cohen's d = 0.551) and highly positive affective responses (Overall M = 3.65) were recorded. The study concludes that despite sample size constraints limiting statistical superiority, paired podcast activities provide a practically meaningful, highly engaging pedagogical framework that accelerates conversational fluency and facilitates peer scaffolding in EFL classrooms.
