Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the benefits of Canva media as a teaching medium in improving descriptive text writing skills. The study applies a classroom action research method accompanied by data collection techniques, namely observation, documentation, tests, and interviews. The subjects of the study included 24 students of class VII-2 SMP HKBP Belawan. The variables of this study are the learning process and the results of writing descriptive texts using Canva media. The results of this study in the pre-cycle showed that the minimum completeness standard that had been determined at 70 had not been met. The average pre-cycle score was 63.95, cycle I reached 68.25, with a success percentage of 62.5%, then an increase was seen in the second cycle with a score reaching 75.58, with a completion percentage that increased to 87.5%. Researchers can conclude that students of class VII-2 SMP HKBP Belawan have descriptive text writing skills that have improved after using Canva-based learning media.

Abstract

Research at SDN Bulujaran Lor 03 addresses the low reading interest of grade 1 students who have difficulty memorizing words and understanding reading due to boring conventional teaching methods. The aim is to apply the PEMTA (Relay Reading Game) method to make learning to read more fun and interactive, thereby increasing students' interest and reading ability. The study employed a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (PTK) methodology, two meetings for 3 class hours each. This method is assisted by letter card media and focuses on increasing student participation and understanding. The results showed a significant improvement: 89.65% of students finished cycle I with an average score of 74.58, while 100% of students finished cycle II with an average score of 82.75, compared to pre-cycle which was only 82.75% scored with a mean value of 73.20. This method is successful in increasing students' interest, reading ability, self-confidence and cooperation in learning.

Abstract

The Industry Revolution 5.0 demands the integration of technology and humanism, requiring education to adapt to these changes. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that teachers at SD Negeri 2 Candinata have implemented various innovative learning media, such as the use of digital applications and online learning platforms, to enhance student engagement and facilitate a more interactive learning experience. Data shows that 75% of students feel more motivated to learn social studies when using innovative learning media. Furthermore, teachers face challenges in terms of training and technology mastery, which need to be addressed through continuous professional development programs. Thus, the role of professional teachers is crucial in creating a learning environment that is adaptive and responsive to the needs of the times.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test how students' multiplication calculation skills were influenced by the GASING method. The research methodology chosen was quasi-experimental. All third grade students became the research population. Class III B served as the control group and Class III A served as the experimental group and both became the research sample. The basic random sampling approach was used to conduct sampling. A written test served as a research measurement tool. In the normality test results section, most of the data were not normally distributed, the Wilcoxon test was used in descriptive and inferential statistics used for data analysis. According to the findings, the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 44.71, and its post-test score increased sharply to 87.29. In contrast, the average for the control group increased slightly from 45.00 to 46.35. The pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental class differed significantly (p <0.05) according to the Wilcoxon test, while the shift in the control class was less obvious. These results indicate that there is a significant difference after the application of the GASING method to the experimental class. So, the GASING mathematics method works very well to help third grade students at SDN Monta in improving their multiplication calculation skills.

Abstract

Keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di SD Negeri Serengat berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media diorama terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VB, karena media tersebut dinilai mampu meningkatkan pemahaman abstrak melalui ilustrasi nyata visual dua dimensi dalam bentuk papan bergambar dengan beberapa elemen gambar yang saling mendukung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri atas 21 siswa kelas VB yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test pada SPSS-25 menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.001. Nilai signifikansi tersebut ≤ 0.05, maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media diorama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas VB SD Negeri Serengat pada materi organ pencernaan manusia.

Abstract

This research is a development study of the Batik Daun Pucuk Ubi motif in Empelu Village, Tanah Sepenggal Sub-district, Bungo Regency, motivated by the issue of limited public knowledge and awareness in developing existing batik motifs. The aim of this research is to determine the level of development, validity, and practicality of the motif. This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), with qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The trial subjects in this study were 10 members of the Empelu Village PKK community. Validation results from experts showed that the motif design scored between 84%–93.33%, categorized as valid to highly valid, especially in terms of uniqueness, aesthetics, and cultural relevance, while color validation reached 86.67%, indicating that the color combinations were considered attractive and innovative. The practicality test by the PKK members yielded a score of 96.2%, indicating that the motif is highly suitable for use in community training and production. These findings suggest that the Batik Daun Pucuk Ubi motif has the potential to become a local visual identity and a valuable cultural product.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the words included in code mixing in the Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap film by Bene Dion. This film is set in Batak culture and uses the original Batak language because it was recorded in an area that is still heavily influenced by Batak culture, especially the area around Lake Toba. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The free listening method and data recording procedures using speech from the Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap film were used to collect data for this study. The results of this study found 16 words included in code mixing and there were 3 slogans from the Ngeri-ngeri sedap film. Code mixing in the Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap film became the source of research data. Recording and listening techniques were used to collect data. Learning slogans to improve language comprehension and proficiency is one way to learn Indonesian that has consequences.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu pembelajaranmasih berpusat pada guru, peserta didik kurang aktif dan cenderung pasif, minim interaksi antar peserta didik dan suasana belajar kurang kolaboratif kemudian guru kurangmenggunakan model pembelajaran yang kurangmenyenangkan atau variasi model masih minim, pesertadidik juga masih kurang percaya diri dan mudah jenuh ataukurang termotivasi dalam mengikuti pelajaran IPAS.Tujuanpenelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses penerapan model kooperatif tipe Take And Give dalam meningkatkan hasilbelajar IPAS peserta didik kelas V SDN 18 Belang-BelangKabupaten Maros.Penelitian yang dilaksanakan merupakanpenelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukandalam dua siklus masing-masing terdiri dari tahapperencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi yang mencakup empat kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitiaan iniadalah peserta didik kelas V SDN 18 Belang-BelangKabupaten Maros sebanyak 18 peserta didik yang terdiriatas 11 orang laki-laki dan 7 orang perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, tes (evaluasi), dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwapenerapan model kooperatif tipe Take And Give mampumeningkatkan hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik kelas V SDN 18 Belang-Belang Kabupaten Maros.Pada siklus I, nilairata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik adalah 61,6 denganpersentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 61,6 %.Setelah dilakukan tindakan perbaikan pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 73,44 dengan persentase ketuntasanklasikal sebesar 73,44%. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada aktivitas belajar peserta didik yang semula pada siklus I hanya mencapai rata- rata 66,76 % meningkat menjadi96,06% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebutdapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatiftipe Take And Give efektif dalam meningkatkan hasilbelajar peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran IPAS.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of three-dimensional shapes and their social skills through the implementation of collaborative learning. This research was based on initial observations of fifth-grade students at SDN Pendem 01 Kota Batu, which revealed that social skills such as cooperation and communication within groups, as well as understanding of three-dimensional shapes, were still relatively low. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The research subjects were 30 fifth-grade students. During the intervention, students were divided into heterogeneous groups and assigned to create three-dimensional shape models using rolled paper. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and concept comprehension tests, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results showed that collaborative learning significantly improved students’ conceptual understanding, as evidenced by the increase in average scores from 61.2 in the pre-test to 83.4 in the post-test, with an N-gain score of 0.585, categorized as moderate. Moreover, students' social skills, including teamwork, communication, and responsibility, also improved throughout the learning process. This study confirms the effectiveness of collaborative learning in enhancing both cognitive and social aspects of students’ development, in line with Vygotsky’s and Slavin’s theories emphasizing the role of social interaction in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in the teaching of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) on the topic "My Culturally Rich Indonesia" in Grade IV at SDN 55/I Sridadi, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its application. The CRT approach is used to create a contextual, inclusive, and meaningful learning process by integrating students’ cultural backgrounds into learning activities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the classroom teacher, the principal, and fourth-grade students. The results of the study show that the teacher successfully designed and implemented culturally-based learning by connecting IPAS material with students’ local cultural experiences. Strategies used include the use of culturally-based learning media, the incorporation of folktales and regional songs, and engaging students in relevant cultural projects. Supporting factors in the implementation of CRT include the principal’s support, the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum, parental involvement, and the availability of local learning media. On the other hand, the challenges identified include limited instructional time, uneven student understanding of local culture, and the absence of specific teacher training on the CRT approach. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach is effective in enhancing student engagement, understanding, and appreciation of Indonesia’s cultural diversity. This approach also strengthens students’ cultural identity and creates a learning environment that values diversity.
