Abstract

Integrasi teori kognitivistik dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning/PjBL) menjadi strategi efektif dalam membangun keterampilan abad ke-21 yang meliputi kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, kolaboratif, dan komunikatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan prinsip-prinsip kognitivistik, seperti konstruksi pengetahuan, skemata, dan metakognisi, dalam konteks pembelajaran berbasis proyek di lingkungan pendidikan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis berbagai literatur terkait teori kognitivistik dan model PjBL. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kedua pendekatan tersebut mampu mendorong peserta didik untuk aktif mengkonstruksi pengetahuan melalui pengalaman nyata, refleksi, dan kolaborasi. Selain itu, penerapan strategi pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan landasan teori kognitivistik memperkuat peran guru sebagai fasilitator yang membimbing proses berpikir siswa secara mandiri dan bermakna. Dengan demikian, kombinasi antara teori kognitivistik dan pembelajaran berbasis proyek menjadi fondasi penting dalam menyiapkan peserta didik menghadapi tantangan global abad ke-21 melalui penguatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thinking Skills/HOTS).

Abstract

Pendidikan manusia sesungguhnya dimulai sejak masa prenatal, ketika janin masih berada dalam kandungan. Masa ini merupakan fase penting bagi pembentukan aspek fisik, psikologis, dan karakter anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tahapan perkembangan janin berdasarkan kajian ilmiah dan perspektif Islam, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perkembangan janin, serta mengidentifikasi implikasinya terhadap pendidikan, khususnya dalam pembinaan karakter peserta didik. Kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan janin melalui tiga tahap utama: germinal, embrionik, dan fetal, yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetik, kesehatan ibu, asupan gizi, kondisi emosional, serta spiritualitas ibu selama kehamilan. Dalam perspektif Islam, Al-Qur’an (Q.S. Al-Mu’minun [23]:12–14) menekankan penciptaan manusia secara bertahap dan pendidikan ilahiah sejak dalam rahim, menegaskan pentingnya perhatian terhadap kondisi prenatal sebagai fondasi pembentukan karakter dan kemampuan belajar anak. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan prenatal, termasuk stimulasi positif dan bimbingan spiritual, berkontribusi signifikan terhadap perkembangan fisik, emosional, dan spiritual anak. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya integrasi prinsip pendidikan Islam dan ilmu perkembangan prenatal dalam upaya membentuk generasi yang sehat, berkarakter, dan siap menghadapi pendidikan formal sejak dini.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the implementation of the reading corner strategy in fostering literacy interest among elementary school students. A reading corner serves as a supporting program of the School Literacy Movement designed to create a literacy-friendly learning environment. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving a classroom teacher and fourth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observations of students’ reading activities in the reading corner, interviews with the teacher, and documentation of reading logs and book inventories. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study reveal that a creatively managed and consistently operated reading corner can enhance students’ literacy interest by providing diverse reading materials, a comfortable reading atmosphere, and active teacher involvement as a literacy facilitator. Furthermore, the reading corner encourages independent reading habits and improves students’ motivation to comprehend texts. This research confirms that the reading corner strategy is effective in developing school literacy culture when supported by adequate facilities and continuous teacher guidance. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of literacy-based learning strategies to improve reading comprehension skills of third-grade students in elementary school. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants involved the third-grade teacher and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of literacy-based learning strategies was carried out through pre-reading activities, the use of various text media, and teacher guidance in understanding reading content. The strategy has shown improvements in students’ interest in reading, their ability to answer text-based questions, and their confidence in expressing ideas related to reading materials. Therefore, literacy-based learning strategies can effectively improve elementary students’ reading comprehension skills. Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' numeracy skills in learning multiplication. The study aims to describe the effect of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 8 third-grade students at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were obtained through pretest and posttest assessments related to numeracy skill indicators, namely formulating problems, applying concepts, and interpreting answer results. The research results showed that the average pretest score of 66.25% increased to 96.25% in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk test indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the paired sample t-test result obtained a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05, thus H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This proves that there is a significant influence of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of progressivism philosophy to 21st-century learning in improving the quality of education toward realizing Indonesia Emas 2045. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research focused on conceptual analysis of national and international scholarly articles published between 2018 and 2025. Content analysis and a hermeneutic approach were used to interpret experts’ perspectives on the interrelation between progressivism principles, 21st-century competencies, and national education policy. The findings reveal that progressivism is highly relevant to the development of student-centered learning, experiential learning, and the enhancement of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills (4C). John Dewey’s principle of learning by doing effectively supports the mastery of 21st-century competencies through contextual and democratic learning experiences. In the Indonesian context, progressivism aligns with the spirit of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile, which emphasize independence, collaboration, and character formation. The application of progressive values is believed to strengthen the development of adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive human resources, making education the fundamental pillar in achieving the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

Abstract

Students' interest in reading is very important in education. One strategy to increase students' interest in reading is to provide a reading corner in schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the reading corner management strategies used by schools to increase students' interest in reading at SD N Lapang Baru, Kuifana Village, South Abad District. The problem found in the field was the low interest in reading among students at the school. The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive. The results showed that students were very enthusiastic about visiting the reading corner to read the books provided there, and some students also wrote summaries of their subjects in the reading corner area. They did this activity for 15 minutes before starting class, filling their free time when the teacher was not in class, and during recess, students were free to choose reading books that were provided in the reading corner. If there was something they did not understand, the students immediately asked their friends or the teacher about it. In addition, there were some students who were very enthusiastic about reading and writing but still needed guidance from the teacher. Guidance for some students specifically to improve their literacy skills can be seen in the following picture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in integrating character values into Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in elementary schools. This research applies a qualitative descriptive approach with classroom teachers and students as the main participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers apply various strategies to integrate character values, including modeling, habituation, contextual discussions, and project-based activities that foster environmental awareness and cooperation. IPAS learning not only focuses on cognitive understanding but also builds students’ social sensitivity, responsibility, and curiosity toward their surroundings. Despite several challenges, character integration in IPAS effectively shapes students to become knowledgeable, ethical, and socially responsible individuals. Abstract

This research was conducted at the Setia Medan Foundation Educational Institution with the aim of the research to determine the effect of training and knowledge sharing on teacher performance mediated by work motivation. The population was employees and teachers who worked at the Setia Medan Foundation educational institution, random sampling using the Slovin formula so that the number of research samples was 74 respondents. The source of research data is primary and data collection techniques are by survey. Data analysis techniques use path analysis, classical assumption tests and hypothesis tests.Based on the results of the research conducted, it shows that partially training and knowledge sharing have a positive and significant effect on work motivation and employee performance. Work motivation mediates the effect between training on employee performance, but work motivation does not mediate the effect between knowledge sharing on employee performance. Training, knowledge sharing and work motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance at the Yayasan Setia Medan Educational Institution.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the essential 21st-century skills and is a key focus of the Independent Curriculum. However, preliminary analysis at SDN Inpres Leu indicates that students' critical thinking skills are still low due to the dominance of lecture methods and the lack of use of interactive digital media. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective Science (IPAS) e-module containing Project Based Learning (PJBL) to improve elementary school students' critical thinking skills. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, fifth-grade teachers, and 17 fifth-grade students at SDN Inpres Leu. Data were collected through validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and critical thinking skills tests based on the Facione indicator. The validation results showed that the material aspect scored 97.5% and the media aspect reached 90%, both of which are categorized as very valid. Teacher and student responses showed a practicality score of 95%, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness test using the N-gain calculation yielded a score of 0.74, categorized as high, indicating a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the developed Science and Technology e-module with PJBL content was deemed feasible, practical, and effective as an innovative learning medium to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.
