Abstract

Kitab Safînah al-Najâh, together with other classical Arabic books can explain how Indonesian Muslims live their lives in regard with religious aspects. The book since long has been widely thought in most of traditional Islamic education institutions (pesantren) in Indonesia for it is considered relatively concise but comprehensive, covering basic laws of daily religious activities. The conciseness of the book, however, may lead to problems of misinterpretation. The biggest assumption of this regard relies on the use of complex broken verbs, called in Arabic as Fi'il Ṡulâṡi Mazîd, which refer to different meanings. This article aims at analysing the meanings that may come from the use of Fi'il Ṡulâṡi Mazîd in the book Safinah al-Naja from the perspective of morpho-semantic. It is found 55 patterns of Fi'il Ṡulâṡi Mazîd. From this amounts, there are 26 verbs with additional one character (Mazîd bi harfin), 25 verbs with additional two characters, and 4 verbs with additional three characters. Some of these verbs come with various meanings

Abstract

The research aims: (1) to describe the differences in accent and lexeme variations in the eastern and western Libyan dialects; and (2) to describe the social factors of Libyan society that cause dialect variations. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data sources from interviews with native Libyan speakers. Direct interviews carried out the data collection technique. The results of this study are: (1) Libyan dialect variations between the Eastern and Western Libyan dialects are divided into accent and lexeme variations. The researcher found three different accent variations of the two dialects. The differences in accent include phonetic differences with accelerations and changes in pronunciation. Meanwhile, in the lexeme, researchers found 20 variations of the lexeme. These variations include onomasiological symptoms in most of the vocabulary and semasiological symptoms in some of the lexemes; (2) The factors causing the emergence of dialect variations are: The influence of geographic location; The social condition of the Libyan people; The tradition of settling down and being close to the family after marriage; The society that divided was considered a disgrace. Meanwhile, two factors influence the similarity between the Libyan dialect and Fushah Arabic, namely: the Libyan dialect Lexem can be derived from the Fushah language; The Libyan dialect axon is a Fushah language experiencing affixes and accelerations in pronunciation.

Abstract

The method of collocation innovated by Al-Khalil bin Ahmed indicates that the number of possible binary roots is 756 roots after deleting the repeated one, and the number of possible triple roots is 21.952 roots, the quad is 614.656 roots, and the quintuple is 17.210.368 roots, but the linguistic reality proves that using of these roots is little if What is measured by the neglected ones; The used doesn't add more to the binary than 115 roots, and these roots are structures without derivation, from the triple to 7.198 roots, from the quadrilateral to 3.739 roots, and from the quintet over 295 roots, which means that the Arabs didn't use all the available or possible roots. The ancient linguists tried to explain the use of some roots without some, and to explain the difference in the amount of neglected and used between constructs (double, triple, quadruple, and five buildings). However, the reasons they mentioned didn't rise to the level of statistics to explain all the neglected roots in a way that doesn't allow some of them to deviate from the rule. The research has presented the reasons cited by linguists for neglecting the neglected of the roots, such as the forbidden coalition between some Arab silences, appending the triple to the quadrant, the quadrant to the quintet, the analogy of the transition between the roots with the two roots, and the lack of the need for all the roots. Then the research tried to extract reasons other than those mentioned by linguists, and to know the Sunnah of the Arabs in composing the used roots. What you like, what you deserve, and what you prevent, then the judgment after this is on the neglected roots, a ruling that none of them is deviating from it as much as possible. Among these reasons: the symmetry of the first and second sounds of the root, the similarity of the sounds of one root, the symmetry of the second and the third of the ring sounds, the absence of the correct letters of the root، the preference for “wāw” over the “yā'” in the first position of the root, and the desire of the Arab from other than the three roots. Then the research touched upon an attempt to explain the difference in the amount of the neglected and the used between the twin, triple, quadruple and five buildings, and the great discrepancy between the neglected and used ratios between these buildings.

Abstract

This article tries to approach the conflict of Palestine through the novel Rsa'aytu Ramallah by Maorid Barghouti as seeking its parallel realities with historical facts. In so doing, the genetical components are to be analyzed by employing the Genetical Structaralism theory of Lucien Goldmann. The genetic of the novel can be seen in the parallelism between the literary facts and the socio-historical facts along the story. Thus, the novel not only comprises a mere fiction, but also along history of Palestine-Israel wars during the life of Barghouti. The author's worldview captures several crucial issues, such as the impacts of the war for Palestinians -mostly the immigrants among them-, the unstable politics that does not benefit the Palestinians interest, and gender iniquity which still exists in Palestine.

Abstract

This article examines the condition of Jakarta's residents in late 2016 and early 2017. Some Muslims in Jakarta were able to mobilize a movement they dubbed "Aksi Bela Islam" after viewing video recordings of the then-leader's words that were distributed via media networks and other means. They may have clashed after viewing the footage, prompting Jakartans, organizations, and associations to convene and ask the Indonesian Ulema Council to address the issue. The respondents requested the opinion of the Indonesian Ulema Council regarding the ruler's statement, “... that you deny verse 51 of Surah Al-Mā'idah ..,” where the controversial word is “auliyā'” The words have multiple meanings due to the fact that they themselves have multiple meanings. These words have multiple meanings, as interpreters may interpret them differently, and there are also contradictions and contradictions between litigants and justices in interpreting these words. From this point on, the researcher will seek linguistic issues associated with this incident and avoid mentioning political issues. The researcher analyzes it by analyzing the elements of semantic meaning with the aid of the opinions of commentators and translators regarding the verse in question, the dictionaries considered, and the words of scholars who support and do not support the interpretation. This article will inform you of the tendency of the Indonesian Ulema Council to issue fatwas on linguistic matters.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the theological dimensions that arise due to the presence of non-Arabic vocabulary (mu'arrab) in the Qur'an. Language is a medium in conveying the intentions, needs and goals of its users, both verbally and non-verbally. Language development can follow the cultural evolution of a civilization. It is not surprising that the vocabulary of one language can be found in another language because linguistic changes occur as a result of interactions between speakers of different languages. This research is a library research, using the documentation method, namely by finding and collecting data related to the discussion in this thesis to then be analyzed using the analytical-descriptive method, namely by looking at arguments regarding non-Arabic vocabulary in Al- Qur'an from various experts, both Islamic scientists and orientalists, then the data obtained is analyzed. The aim of this research is to explore mu'arrab in terms of historical, sociocultural and linguistic aspects, and also to prove that non-Arabic vocabulary is natural as a result of the contact between languages and cultures that has occurred. The results of this study indicate that there has been interaction between Arabic and northern Aramia through trade routes, migration and mixing between Aramia and Arabs in the Hijāz. With the mixing between the two languages, then there is language acculturation. Many Arabic vocabularies related to civilization and industry which are loans from Aramia is a very natural thing because it is impossible for the Arabs who are still shrouded in ignorance to recognize these vocabularies.
