Abstract

Development of "Greater" Learning Model on Chemistry Learning as an Effort to Embed Students' Science Literacy. This study aimed producing a learning models named GREATER (Gear Up, Read, Explore, Analyze, Tell, Elaborate, Reflection) to foster the scientific literacy. The research method was Research and Development used simplified Borg and Gall consisting of two stages, research and development. Phase I includes 1) a field study and 2) study of literature producing factual models. Phase II includes 1) planning the design of the product, 2) validation expert, 3) revision I, 4) small-scale trials, 5) revision II, 6) a limited scale trials and 7) effectiveness test. The products included manual book, lesson plans, worksheets, reading material and KWHLAQ chart and achievement test. The research population were one class in SMA PGRI 1 Maospati and two classes in SMAN 1 Sukomoro. The instrument were the scientific literacy test, observation sheets, questionnaires. The results showed 1)  expert validatition was obtained a valid scores meaning that the model was considered feasible to be applied in classroom setting. 2) empirically, showed the pretest and post score showed increase from 35.16% to 62.23% of students who answered correctly, while the percentage of students who answered “do not know” down from 19.43% to 12.63%. Model GREATER effective at improving the student’s scientific literacy and they become more familiar with the scientific phenomena, variable scientific investigation and interpreting data.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1). To find out the characteristics of magnetic electric teaching materials that fit the needs of STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau City. (2). To find out the feasibility of teaching materials. The research and development model used by the Borg and Gall model, because it is very suitable for developing and validating educational products. The study was conducted at Physics Student STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau who took the Electric Magnet course. Teaching Materials are validated by experts namely material, language, and graphic design experts. Teaching Materials are also measured practicality levels with one-to-one trials (Revision-1), small group trials (Revision-2), and Final tests (Revision-3). Based on the results of the study show (1) Magnetic electric teaching materials that fit students' needs are contextual based magnetic electric teaching materials and (2) Based on evaluations following the suggestions and responses from experts. shows the quality of contextual-based physics teaching materials with the overall percentage of these components is very feasible. So that magnetic teaching materials are valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to design and produce a stop motion graphic animation video oriented to STEAM global warming material that is used as a learning medium and to determine the response of students at MTs Manbaul Huda Ngaluran Karanganyar Demak to stop motion graphic animation video oriented STEAM global warming material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to the Borg and Gall development procedure. This research includes 7 stages. The trial was carried out after going through a validity test by media experts and material experts. The trial was carried out at MTs Manbaul Huda Ngaluran Karanganyar Demak involving 28 students of class VII. meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses qualitative data from quantitative data for the development of STEAM-oriented video stop motion graphic animation products for global warming material in order to determine the feasibility of the developed media. The results showed that the media was feasible to use based on the percentage of media experts of 92% and material experts of 84.8%, the response of students to stop motion videos was very satisfied based on the results of small-scale trials getting an average score percentage of 96.95% and the test Field trials get an average score percentage of 85.7% which means that the stop motion graphic animation video media oriented to STEAM global warming material can be accepted by students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas  ini adalah untuk mengetahui: pengaruh model discovery learning(DL) terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi kimia unsur; Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XII IPA 6  Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kudus. Penelitian dilakukan dengan dua siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri atas empat tahapan, yakni: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan melalui dokumentasi, tes, angket, observasi. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa: Peningkatan prestasi belajar  ditunjukkan dengan: (1) rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa pada siklus I adalah 6,79 dan pada siklu siklus II adalah 8,68;(2)ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I siswa 14 siswa atau 38,89% dan yang tidak tuntas sebanyak 22 siswa atau 61,11%; serta (3) ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada siklus I adalah 38,89% dan pada siklus II mnecapai 100,00%.dan kinerja performance guru juga meningkat.Respon siswa adalah 82,14% artinya sangat setuju atau pada katagori tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the effect of conceptual change using the adobe Quran on the reduction of misconceptions, (2) determine the effect of conceptual change using the adobe Quran on self-regulation, self-efficacy, and self-confidence. The population in this study were all students of class XI in 3 schools. At Islamic Senior High School 1 Bandar Lampung and Senior High School 1 Negara Batin with a total of 6 classes with a total of 95 and 87 students respectively. Senior High School 2 Sekampung with a total of 4 classes and a total of 70 students. This study used a weak experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. So that there are 3 classes as research classes namely, class XI MIA 1, XI MIA 2, and XI MIA 6 at Islamic Senior High School 1 Bandar Lampung, class XI MIA 1, XI MIA 2, and XI MIA 3 at Senior High School 2 Sekampung and Senior High School 1 Negara Batin. The data in this study were obtained through a misconception test accompanied by CRI (Certainty of Response Index) and self-regulation, self-efficacy, and self-confidence questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a one-sample t-test. This study concludes that the conceptual change model using the adobe Quran can reduce misconception and increase self-regulation, self-efficacy, and self-confidence. The researcher suggests applying the conceptual change model using adobe Quran to other learning materials so that it can help in reducing misconceptions in other learning materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menerapkan model Problem Based Learning dalam Pembelajaran IPA Kelas VIII MTs Ma’arif NU 1 Patikraja dan (2) meningkatkan soft skill kerja sama dan pemahaman konsep peserta didik kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur meliputi dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian bertempat di MTs Ma’arif NU 1 Patikraja. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, angket, dan tes (pre test post test). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning meliputi lima langkah, yaitu: mengorientasi peserta didik kepada masalah; mengorganisasikan peserta didik; membimbing penyelidikan individu dan kelompok; mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya; dan menganalisa dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. (2) hasil observasi selama proses pembelajaran, perbaikan dalam pembelajaran, dan hasil pre test post test menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan soft skill kerja sama dan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi alat optik. (3) rata-rata hasil pre test post test peserta didik pada siklus I sebesar 66,52 dan pada siklus II sebesar 75,43. Peserta didik mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan belajar dari siklus I sebesar 39% menjadi 83% pada siklus II.

Abstract

This research is an e-module development that aims to support students' learning independence. One of the causes of the students' low learning independence is the lack of teaching materials that can support the students' learning independence. The use of teaching materials and monotonous methods make students lazy and bored in learning so that it impacts the independence of learning. Research and development method of plomp models used in this study which consists of a preliminary research stage (Preliminary Research), the design phase or prototype (Development of Prototype phase), and the assessment phase. The research This research was conducted at a high school in the city of Padang class XI IPA. The validity test was given to 2 material expert lecturers, 2 media expert lecturers, and 1 linguist lecturer, and tested by 2 educators and 15 students for practicality, and 20 students for effectiveness. The results of this study are said to be very valid with a value of 90.66, very practical with a value of 94.5, and very effective with a value of 89.2. Based on data acquisition, it appears that the E-Module physics uses “Construct 2” to support the learning independence of students categorized as very valid, very practical, and very effective in learning physics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa dan faktor penyebabnya tentang konsep momen gaya. Sejumlah 71 siswa terdiri dari 36 siswa kelas XI IPA dan 25 siswa kelas XII IPA diberikan tes tertulis terbuka terkait materi momen gaya. Hasil tes tertulis dikategorikan menjadi respon ilmiah, respon tidak ilmiah, dan tidak merespon. Diambil sebanyak 30 siswa yang memiliki respon yang dominan untuk dilakukan wawancara dan pengambilan sampel didasarkan pada opportunity sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kualitatif tes tertulis dan wawancara disimpulkan bahwa (1) respon tak ilmiah lebih mendominasi pada kedua kelas dan (2) penyebabnya dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu: intuisi, kurang pemahaman, fragmentasi, dan apresiasi konseptual.

Abstract

Exploring Critical Thinking And Students Curiosity Through Simple Inquiry Laboratory Activity. This study is a preliminary research to explore critical thinking skills and students curiosity of primary school in understanding science through simple inquiry laboratory activities. Participants are 20 students of 4th grade from one of the primary schools in Bandung. The researcher uses descriptive method to describe student activity during learning, student idea, and student's response in learning, obtained through personal communication, student worksheet and questionnaire. In the first lab activity, researchers used plasticine to explore students' ideas for design 3 objects for exploring science concept namely "floating, drifting and sinking. In the second activity students are directed to apply the concept that has been obtained in the first activity, which is they should selecting and classify red bean and corn with good quality and bad quality that used to be seeds. The results show that critical thinking ability and students curiosity begin look when they design objects that are expected for floating and drifting. Students are enthusiastic about experimenting and trying to recreate if their plasticine design fails. Trial and error activities are also stimulate them to continue their idea to find the right design objects. That concepts can be applied by student in daily life to select and classify seeds with good and less quality, and they are enthusiastic to plant it and compare it growth. Abstract

Performance assessment instruments so far were still general, not specifically assessing expected performance in each practicum. This study was aimed to develop instruments to assess generic science skills in basic chemistry practicum. ADDIE development model was used as a methodology in this research with data collection methods through observation and questionnaires. The subjects of this study were 3rd-semester students taking basic chemistry practicum courses at the University. Instrument validation was done by content analysis and reliability test between the rater as the methods to reliability test of the rubrics. The results of validity and reliability tests showed that the instruments meet valid and reliable criteria for the assessment instruments of generic science skills, especially direct observation skills, symbolic language, and logic inference in basic chemistry practicum. The reliability test showed the average value of interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) in the redox and electrochemical practicum was 0.780; in chemical kinetics practicum 0.660; and in the functional group introduction practicum 0.639. The results of the feasibility test showed that the percentage of positive responses was 92.08% and negative responses were 7.92%, so it can be stated that the product received a positive response. Based on the results of the study, the assessment instruments developed were declared to be suitable as assessment instruments.
