Abstract

This study aims is based on viewing the Japanese vocabulary’s knowledge of second grade student of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru, pre-using and post-using Quizlet as a learning media, also to review whether Quizlet as a learning media is effective for learning Japanese vocabulary. The population in this study were students of second grade of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru with sample of 33 students from class XI IPA 9 as the experimental class and 33 students from class XI IPA 8 as the control class. The results of this study are as seen in the results of the independent sample t test from the post-test value data, Sig(2-tailed) is 0.002 which shows that Quizlet as a learning media is effective for supporting Japanese vocabulary’s knowledge in second grade students of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This undergraudate thesis examines about the grief meaning of the lyric in Shabon Dama, so the data that used in this research is the lyric of the children song "シ ャ ボ ン 玉" Shabon Dama. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning that contained in the lyrics of the song. Some stages was done in the analysis by the authors is the collection of library data is analyzed by using the theory of the structure of the poem to find the building blocks of the structure of the physical and mental in the song lyrics Shabon Dama, so after knowing the elements builder, it can helps the writer to know the meaning contained in the song using semiotic theory Riffaterre covering their undirect expression in the poetry, semiotic reading, and determined the matrix and as the supporting theory, the author used the theory of the grief meaning to prove that death is the background, the essence and spirit of the creation of the song. The results of this study are the lyrics of Shabon Dama is not just a children's song alone, but an irony on the lives of people in developed countries who seek to restrict the rights of future generations to live by killing the right to life of children in a modern way. And death is the basis, the main idea, and the idea of the author of the song in creating the lyrics of the song. Imagination of death is a reflection of personal experience that the author of the lyrics feel and see for yourself.

Abstract

This study aims to view the effectiveness of using Doraemon’s manga as a learning media on comprehend of hiragana in class XI of  sman 4 Pekanbaru. The population of this study were 72 students of class XI of  SMAN 4 Pekanbaru with samples taken of 36 students which were divided into 18 students for the experimental class and 18 students for the control class. The results obtained were based on the independent sample T-Test on the Post-Test results of the two classes, namely 0.016 and showed that Doraemon’s manga as a learning media was proven to be effective on comprehend hiragana of class XI of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Through the television show Kamen Rider Build, Shinzo Abe, who was re-elected as prime minister of Japan for the term 2012–2020, attempted to reinterpret Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution. This study highlights the remilitarization and nationalism issue. This paragraph includes a demilitarization issue to do rid of the honor pacifist mentality that military troops adopted as a result of American pressure following Japan's humiliating defeat in World War II. Japan, which Abe ultimately labels an "abnormal country" since it lacks military troops, instead only possesses the Jietai/Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) as a governmental security force. Abe builds on increased military power by increasing the military budget and relaxing the rules governing the JSDF through the reinterpretation of Article 9. This argument presents advantages and disadvantages, yet it backs right-wing politicians in the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The US-Japan alliance was strengthened as a result, although tensions in the East Asian region grew. Through symbols and other aspects that appear utilizing representation theory, this political issue is depicted in the television series Kamen Rider Build, which Toei developed in 2017. Through this, it is possible to see that the Kamen Rider Build series is an allegory of the dynamics of the remilitarization debate during Shinzo Abe's administration through popular culture and successful nationalism ideology propaganda media to the larger Japanese community. Keywords: Kamen Rider Build, Nationalism, Remilitarization, Shinzo Abe

Abstract

This study mainly discusses about bravery and unyielding from character Asirpa and Sugimoto in anime “The Golden Kamuy”(2018).  Bravery is an element needed to survive in life and fighting the enemy. Bravery and unyielding are represented through various thrilling and heroic actions. This study aims to: 1) explain the background of the Ainu in the historical, social and cultural context; 2) identify the Bushido code of Asirpa and Sugimoto; and 3) analyzing the aspects of bravery and unyielding in each scene. The research method used qualitative with the subject matter of this research viewed from anthropological and sociological aspects. The data used from the Japanese animation “Golden Kamuy”. This anime shows the life of the Ainu people who are the focus of this research who lives in the northern part of Japan and Russia and depends on hunting and fishery. In the anime at least some elements of bravery and unyielding which are: 1) Sugimoto tried to kill Russian soldiers alone when his friends were dead; 2) when Sugimoto tries to catch a big bear with Asirpa at night; 3) Sugimoto was interrogated by Lieutenant Tsurumi regarding the whereabouts of prisoners carrying gold nuggets belonging to the Ainu tribe; and 4) Sugimoto tried to save a prisoner who had died at sea. This incident is an example of an attitude of bravery and unyielding which will be discussed in the following research using the interpretation of Bushido code.

Abstract

Penelitian ini, menganalisis makna kotowaza yang berunsur nama hewan. Unsur pembentuk hewan dianalisis untuk mengaitkan makna kotowaza dengan kemiripan perilaku, sifat hewan itu sendiri sehingga dugaan penggunaan nama hewan tersebut pada kotowaza yang dimaksud. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, analisisnya berupa penjelasan yang memudahkan pembaca untuk memahaminya. Sumber data adalah buku-buku peribahasa bahasa Jepang. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan mencari padanan kotowaza pada peribahasa bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data menemukan sebanyak 22 data  kotowaza bahasa Jepang dan peribahasa bahasa Indonesia yang berpadanan makna konotasinya dan sebanyak 2 data berpadanan makna  konotasi dan denotasinya. Sebanyak 15 data kotowaza berkonotasi negatif (-) karena bermakna sindiran dan kritikan, sebanyak 7 data kotowaza berkonotasi positif (+), bermakna kebenaran ajaran hidup dan pemikiran pengetahuan hidup, dan sebanyak 1 kotowaza dapat berkonotasi positif maupun negatif (+/-) karena dapat bermakna sindiran maupun ajaran hidup, tergantung konteks pemakaiannya. Bentuk konotasi dan denotasi kotowaza bahasa Jepang dan kotowaza bahasa Indonesia. Kotowaza yang menggunakan unsur hewan ditinjau dari segi semantik memiliki makna yang hampir mirip, hanya saja hewan yang digunakan hanpir seluruhnya berbeda. Perbedaan unsur hewan yang digunakan ini tentunya berdasarkan kearifan lokal masing-masing negara yang berbeda hingga mempengaruhi unsur hewan yang muncul pada peribahasanya kedua bahasa.

Abstract

Speech acts are very important in conveying information or opinions to others. The Japanese language has a distinctive feature in conveying opinions or information, this is done so as not to offend or hurt the feelings of the interlocutor. Speech acts are an interesting area of pragmatics to study. In expressing opinions, Japanese people always use various strategies with the aim of refining what they want to say so as not to offend their interlocutors. In this study, researchers want to examine what speech acts are contained in Kaiwa (conversation) used in the Minna no Nihongo 2 book. The method used is descriptive by describing the speech acts found according to expert opinion. The results of the study found that speech acts in Japanese have a very important role in Kaiwa (conversation). This is because Japanese people do not want to make someone / recipient of information feel bad about what they want to convey. So that in every conversation or providing information they always use speech acts both locution, illocution and perlocution.

Abstract

Family is the most important place, which introduces and applies values and culture. The socialization process in the family is done early and always evaluated if something goes wrong, in order to form a social order, speech acts, and good behavior. Values or rules in Javanese society are known as unggah-ungguh in terms of behavior, appreciation and respect for others, with regard to degree or age. The form is unwritten and involves more aspects of taste and appropriateness. School-age teenagers in the category of adolescents and experiencing cultural shifts, not all of them are able to carry out Javanese cultural manners, which in Japanese culture there are cultural values that can be emulated. Javanese cultural manners are not specifically taught in schools, so there is a need for media that specifically provides information about this. Brochures on Javanese cultural manners and Japanese politeness culture can be obtained in the form of cultural recognition brochures. The cultural values that can be recognized include not monopolizing the conversation, introducing oneself, greeting directly, bowing, thanking and apologizing, collective culture when eating together, pouring drinks for others, and avoiding pointing or staring at others. The respondents of this study agreed to develop a media brochure on Javanese and Japanese cultural recognition. By developing a media brochure on the recognition of Japanese culture into Javanese culture, school students can understand the value of the culture and implement it into their daily lives. The development of this culture sheet product is cheap, with media specifications tailored to the financial capabilities of the institution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menghafal dan menulis bahasa Jepang. Berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas X SMA Adi Luhur Jakarta, kesulitan yang dialami adalah sulit untuk mengahafal dan menulis dari materi yang disajikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tujuan penelitian ini adalah Meningkatkan skill menghafal dan menulis berbahasa Jepang siswa kelas X  SMA Adi Luhur Jakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X  SMA Adi Luhur Jakarta. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran dengan youtube dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menghafal dan menulis bahasa Jepang.

Abstract

This research was conducted to explain the structure and meaning of case particles in Japanese and prepositional particles in Javanese, also to explain the similarities and differences between particles both in two languages. The data of particle in Japanese was obtained from websites, and particle in Javanese was obtained from magazine. The first step of this research was to collecting data using  catat method. Then, data were analyzed using descriptive and contrastive analysis methods. The results were presented using an informal method, which explained in words. Case particles in Japanese has the same function and meaning as prepositional particle in Javanese. In terms of structure, case particles and prepositional particles both must attached to nouns, so that could be understand their meaning. While the differences are case particle placed behind the noun and prepositional particle placed in front of the noun.
