Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Fiqh learning using a habituation learning approach for second-grade students at MI Ihyaul Islam Pakuniran, focusing on its implementation, evaluation, learning novelty, and supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Fiqh teacher, foundation chairman, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Fiqh learning based on habituation learning improves students’ understanding and practice of worship. Learning activities are not limited to classroom instruction but are strengthened through consistent daily worship habituation. The novelty of this study lies in the application of micro-habituation learning, which consists of small, brief, and routine worship practices suited to lower-grade students’ characteristics. Learning evaluation is carried out through practical assessment and observation of religious attitudes. Supporting factors include teachers’ role modeling and a strong religious culture, while inhibiting factors involve differences in students’ religious habits at home.

Abstract

Learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in elementary schools requires instructional media that can contextually explain the interrelationships between scientific concepts, social phenomena, and the values of Islamic Primary Education. However, classroom practices are still predominantly dominated by conventional and static media, which inadequately support student engagement and understanding. This study aims to develop the PP-SDA Platform based on Canva Animation as an interactive and visual IPAS learning medium integrated with Islamic values in the topic of Natural Resource Management. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, which includes the stages of defining, designing, and developing. The defining stage involved curriculum analysis, review of learning outcomes, initial observations, and communication with teachers to identify media needs and learner characteristics. The designing stage produced content concepts, presentation flow, and storyboard-based visual designs, which were developed into a PowerPoint-based prototype using Canva Animation. The development stage included prototype production and limited trials conducted with fourth-grade students of MI Salafiyah Sidorejo using student and teacher response questionnaires as research instruments. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that the PP-SDA Platform demonstrates high levels of attractiveness, clarity of content, integration of Islamic values, and usefulness, with average scores of 89.60% from students and 91.60% from teachers. The media also enhances students' attention, understanding, and ability to relate scientific concepts to Islamic moral values. Therefore, the PP-SDA Platform is feasible to be used as an innovative learning medium in IPAS instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the understanding of rights and obligations can be used as a basis for instilling an attitude of responsibility in elementary school students. An understanding of rights, such as the right to learn and feel safe, as well as obligations, such as obeying the rules and respecting teachers, are key to the formation of students' character from an early age. This research uses a literature study method by collecting data from various sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant thesis. The data were analyzed descriptively to illustrate how the concept of rights and obligations is integrated in the educational process, especially through learning Pancasila Education and habituation in the school environment. The results showed that the instillation of responsibility attitudes in students was greatly influenced by the extent to which they understood the reciprocal relationship between rights and obligations. Teachers have a central role as a mentor, role model, and facilitator in helping students carry out their obligations consistently. Habituation through routine tasks such as class picketing, tidiness of study, and adherence to rules has been proven to be effective in increasing students' awareness of responsibility. In addition to the school factor, parental support and a conducive environment are also an important part in strengthening character formation. However, several factors such as low self-awareness, excessive use of mobile phones, and lack of parental attention are still obstacles that need to be overcome through collaboration between schools and families. Overall, the understanding of rights and obligations is an important foundation in forming a sustainable attitude of responsibility among elementary school students.

Abstract

This article aims to systematically examine the development of the Education Unit Curriculum (KSP) at the elementary/middle school level in the context of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. This research uses a literature study method by examining various relevant national and international sources, especially reputable scientific publications in the last ten years. The results of the study show that the Curriculum of the Education Unit has a strategic role as an instrument that bridges national curriculum policies with contextual learning practices at the level of educational units. The effective development and implementation of the Education Unit Curriculum is influenced by several key factors, including the competence of teachers as learning designers, the leadership of school principals as learning leaders, collaborative culture in the school environment, and sustainable curriculum reflection and evaluation mechanisms. In addition, the Curriculum of the Education Unit provides a space of autonomy for schools to integrate student characteristics, local potential, and character and religious values into learning. However, this study also identified a number of challenges, such as the limitation of teacher capacity and the tendency of the Curriculum of the Education Unit to become an administrative document if it is not supported by systematic mentoring and evaluation. The findings of this literature study are expected to make a conceptual contribution to strengthening school-based curriculum development practices and become a reference for policy makers and basic education practitioners in optimizing the implementation of KSP in elementary and secondary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of portfolio assessment and essay tests in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 009 Sendayan. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes; one class received treatment using portfolio assessment, while the other class used essay tests. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, and observations of students' motivation, engagement, and responsibility during the learning process. Quantitative data analysis was conducted by calculating mean scores, mastery levels, and gain scores to measure students' learning improvement. The results indicated that portfolio assessment was more effective than essay tests. The average posttest score of students in the portfolio group reached 83.7, with a mastery level of 95% and a gain score of 0.63 (medium–high category), whereas the essay test group only achieved an average posttest score of 72.9, a mastery level of 35%, and a gain score of 0.29 (low–medium category). In addition to improving learning outcomes, portfolio assessment enhanced students' motivation, responsibility, and engagement, while allowing teachers to monitor learning progress over time. Essay tests were effective for assessing deep conceptual understanding but were less capable of capturing long-term learning processes. These findings suggest that implementing portfolio assessment better supports the improvement of learning outcomes and student engagement in primary school learning.

Abstract

The background of the research is based on the urgency of improving national literacy scores, where data from PIRLS and PISA consistently show serious challenges to students' ability to understand texts inferentially and evaluatively, demanding innovation of learning methods. The purpose of this study was to evaluate how effective the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model assisted by Scratch media was in improving students' reading and composition skills in grade V compared to the Canva-assisted cooperative learning. A research method with a quasi-experimental design, which used a sample of 60 students, was used in this quantitative study. Once the data is collected through the pretest and posttest, the N-Gain and Independent-Sample t-tests are used. The results showed that, with p = 0.002, there was a significant difference in improvement between the two groups; the experimental class had an average N-Gain of 0.58, and the control class had an average N-Gain of 0.39. These results show that the CIRC Model is very helpful for Scratch in improving students' reading comprehension, especially with the Appreciation indicator. This is an advantage because Scratch is a knowledge construction tool that encourages more complex data processing. However, the Inferential indicator shows the lowest gains. According to this study, the Scratch-assisted CIRC model is a creative approach to improving literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine various Islamic Education (PAI) learning strategies that play a role in strengthening the religious literacy of elementary school children. Religious literacy at this level is an important foundation for the spiritual, moral, and social character development of students, especially amid the dynamics of technological developments and the flow of digital information. Through a literature review method, this study analyzes books, scientific articles, education policy reports, and relevant previous research results. The results of the study show that strengthening religious literacy can be optimized through several key strategies, namely contextual learning that links Islamic values to children's real experiences, the use of visually appealing and pedagogically attractive digital media, the use of storytelling as a means of internalizing values, habituation and role modeling in religious practice, and the application of collaborative learning models that encourage meaningful interaction. These findings confirm that efforts to improve religious literacy require an integrative, adaptive learning design that is in line with the developmental characteristics of students. This study is expected to provide a theoretical contribution to the development of more effective and relevant PAI learning practices in response to the challenges of modern education.
