Abstract

Basic education has a strategic role in shaping the civic disposition of students from an early age. Civic disposition includes an attitude of responsibility, social concern, tolerance, discipline, and commitment to the values of Pancasila and democratic life. Social challenges and global dynamics require schools not only to focus on the mastery of knowledge, but also on strengthening the affective and behavioral dimensions of students. This study aims to describe the implementation of co-curricular education programs in fostering and strengthening the civic character of students at SD Muhammadiyah Darul Falah, focusing on the form of co-curricular activities and the role of teachers and schools in the process of internalizing civic values. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation studies on the implementation of educational programs in schools. The validity of the data was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques, while the data analysis was carried out with the Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that cocurricular-based education programs, such as social care activities, community service, discipline habituation, and collaborative activities, contribute significantly to strengthening the attitude of responsibility, social concern, tolerance, active participation, and democratic attitude of students. The role of teachers as facilitators and role models, as well as consistent support of school culture, are key factors for the success of internalizing civic values. The findings of this study provide a theoretical contribution to the development of the study of civic education in elementary schools and practical benefits as a reference for the development of educational programs based on strengthening civic disposition in Muhammadiyah schools.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of the Spaced Repetition (SR) method assisted by Quizlet media on the improvement of English speaking skills of elementary school students. The research design used a quasi-experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two groups: the experimental group that was taught with the integration of SR and Quizlet, and the control group that was taught by the Direct Instruction/Shadowing method. Students' initial abilities are measured through the pretest, and the final achievement through the same posttest. The results of the descriptive analysis showed a more significant increase in the experimental group. The mean increased from 62.96 to 84.07 (a difference of 21.11 points), while the control group only increased from 58.34 to 72.41 (difference of 14.07 points). A decrease in standard deviation in the experimental group (9,935 to 9,043) indicated a better equitable distribution of abilities. The results of the inferential statistical test reinforce these findings. The Independent Sample T-Test on the posttest data yielded a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.01), which proves a statistically significant difference in improvement between the two groups. Simple linear regression analysis revealed that the SR-Quizlet method was a strong predictor of ability improvement, with a contribution of 64.7% (Coefficient of Determination R² = 0.647). It was concluded that the integration of the Spaced Repetition method and Quizlet media was effective and superior in improving the English speaking skills of elementary school students compared to conventional methods. This success is supported by a synergistic three-phase learning syntax: (1) reinforcement of early memory through a multisensory approach, (2) consolidation of long-term memory through gamified Spaced Repetition and Active Recall, and (3) improvement of productive skills through contextual application. This study recommends this model as an innovative, evidence-based strategy for teaching speaking at the elementary level.

Abstract

Education from an Islamic perspective has an important role in the formation of people who have faith, knowledge, and noble character. Teachers are the main element in the success of education because teachers are also organizers in managing the learning process and fostering students. Teachers are not only facilitators in the classroom, but also organizers, supervisors, and people in charge of creating a positive climate. This research aims to analyze the role of teachers as an organization seen through an Islamic perspective, especially based on the Qur'an and Hadith. The method used is a literature review by taking a qualitative approach from various sources of scientific literature in the form of books, journal articles, and official educational documents. The findings of this study show that from an Islamic perspective, teachers are positioned as murabbi, mursyid, and muzakki. The role of teachers as organizers is also reflected in how teachers manage classrooms, organize learning activities, instill discipline and moral values, and create an effective educational environment with educational value. The perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith affirms that this organizing task must be based on example, justice, compassion, and moral responsibility. Thus, strengthening the role of teachers as organizers based on Islamic values is an important key in improving the quality of education and forming human resources who are knowledgeable, moral, and pious.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading skills of lower grade students, characterized by difficulties in recognizing letters, reading syllables, and reading comprehension. This study aims to determine the effect and improvement of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by wordwall media on improving students' reading skills. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a Nonquivalent Control Group Design. There were 58 first-grade students participating in the study, divided into class I A with 28 students as the experimental class and class I B with 30 students as the control class. The instrument used was the EGRA test. Data analysis included normality and homogeneity tests, N-Gain calculations, and T-tests. The results showed that the experimental class experienced an increase in early reading skills with an average N-Gain of 0.65, higher than the control class at 0.31. In addition, the T-test results showed a sig value < 0.05, which means there was a significant difference between the two classes. Thus, the TGT learning model assisted by wordwall media is effective in improving the early reading skills of first-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership style and teacher readiness on the implementation level of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in elementary schools throughout Paberiwai District, East Sumba Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population was all elementary school teachers in Paberiwai District, with a sample size of 40 respondents determined through total sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability testing. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS, along with classical assumption tests, t-tests, and F-tests.The results showed that principal leadership style had no significant effect on P5 implementation. Conversely, teacher readiness had a positive and significant partial effect on P5 implementation, with a standardized regression coefficient (β) of 0.441 and a significance level of 0.022 (<0.05), indicating that teacher readiness contributed 19.45% to the variation in P5 implementation. Simultaneously, the principal's leadership style and teacher readiness significantly influenced the implementation of P5, with an R-square value of 0.600. This indicates that the two variables together explain 60.0% of the variation in P5 implementation, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the research model. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that teacher readiness is a key factor in the successful implementation of P5 in elementary schools throughout Paberiwai District. The role of the principal's leadership style needs to be strengthened to achieve a more tangible impact. This research provides important implications for education management in the 3T (Underdeveloped, 3T) regions, particularly in formulating policies to increase teacher capacity and strengthen school leadership to support the success of the Independent Curriculum through the implementation of P5.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the optimization of fiqh learning based on the book of Nadẓam Safinatu al-Najah by Sheikh Hasan Genggong can improve the worship competence of MI Nidhamiyah Ketompen students. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach, involving 20 6th grade students as the focus of the research. Data was collected through learning observations, interviews with teachers and vice principals, as well as documentation of student records and books used. The results of the study show that the implementation of learning based on the book of nadẓam is carried out in a systematic, interactive, and fun manner. Students actively read, copy, interpret, and practice worship ordinances, so that their understanding of worship theory and practice increases significantly. Students' worship competencies before the application of the book of nadẓam vary, with some students still having difficulty in practicing ablution, prayer, and taharah. After application, students are more confident, consistent in carrying out daily worship, and are able to memorize and understand nadẓam verses well. Factors that support the effectiveness of learning include teacher and student motivation, the availability of books, interactive methods, and a conducive madrasah environment. The obstacles that arise are differences in reading ability, limited study time, and the need for additional guidance for certain students. This research shows that fiqh learning based on the book of nadẓam is effective in improving worship competence, shaping students' religious character, and preserving the classical literature of the Ganggong Islamic Boarding School.
