Abstract

Soccer is one of the most widely played games in the world today. Millions of people are watching soccer games and its popularity has risen dramatically day by day. A variety of research works has been done on the history of football to satisfy people’s curiosity. Archaeological and historical evidence is a valuable resource for reconstructing soccer’s ancient history. Therefore, the current researchers would like to undertake an investigation that requires a review of the archaeological and historical literature. The primary goal of this scholarly qualitative research was to look at the historical evolution of soccer from Before the Common Era (BCE) to the first world cup. The literature was collected in this systematic qualitative analysis using online and offline methods. Present researchers found that between the Before Christ (BC) to the first World Cup, soccer underwent major changes, from violent to social. The rules of the game have been developed in line with the demand. During this time different types of football were played on different shapes of fields. No one had any headaches over a time frame. We must remember that today’s modern creative football stands on the golden history of the past.

Abstract

The search for high-performing athletes and preventing heat-related illnesses, hydration, and fluid replacement play a vital role in recruiting athletes with qualifications essential for competition. This study investigated the Awareness, Attitude, and Practices on Hydration and Fluid Replacement among Coaches of Varsity Athletes of Visayas State University. This study utilized descriptive design, and data were gathered from 182 respondents using a modified Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices ( KPAP) survey questionnaire. The study's findings revealed that coaches were aware of hydration and fluid replacement. Coaches possess a strong attitude in emphasizing and ensuring athletes understand the importance of hydration and fluid replacement. The study results also revealed that coaches' hydration and fluid replacement practices on athletes were aligned with the standard practices. Coaches did not fail to advise, remind, and teach athletes to stay hydrated before, during, and after the competition. The study's findings corresponded to the Theory of Exercise Hydration Science by Bob Murray, which discussed the importance of hydration in obtaining athletes' peak performance and how it works to prevent heat-related illnesses due to dehydration. Results of the study will be the basis for the proposed program for coaches and athletes on hydration and fluid replacement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the aerobic and anaerobic capacities of badminton athletes, and to relate them to performances, such as the number of drive shots, lob shots, or smash shots, in badminton matches. 12 badminton athletes in the men's doubles category carried out two types of measurements, namely laboratory test and match test. Laboratory tests included the VO2max test using the Lode Quark Cardio Pulmonary Exercises Test (CPET), as well as a battery test (push-up, back-up, sit-up, and half-squat). Match test was conducted using competition match system. Match performances, such as drive shots, lob shots, or smash shots were analyzed by experts. The higher the VO2max level of the pair of men's doubles athletes, the better its correlation with their badminton strokes was. For example, pair 1 (native 1 and native 2) had a mean VO2max of 54.2 ± 0.9 ml/kg/min and performed the average numbers of lob strokes of 35.5 ± 0.7, drive shots of 47.5 ± 0.7, and smash of 19.5 ± 7.8. The lowest result was found in pair 6, in which the VO2max level was 47.6 ± 0.4. The average numbers of shots performed by this pair were 23.5 ± 2.1 for lob, 29.5 ± 0.7 for drive, and 5.5 ± 0.7 for smash. On the other hand, Pair 1 had the highest average repetition of the battery test compared to the other pairs (Push-up = 35.5 ± 0.7, Back-up = 49.5 ± 0.7, Sit-up = 55.0 ± 0.0, Half-squat = 69.5 ± 0.7), and it was directly proportional to the results of hitting performance in a match. This study shows that there is a correlation between VO2max average and battery test results and the performance of badminton men's doubles athletes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a learning model for Outbound Basic Motion Education (OBME) for basic locomotor movements of elementary school children. The study was conducted to obtain information about the application of the Outbound Basic Motion Education (OBME) learning model. This study uses the Research & Development (R&D) development research method from Borg and Gall. Small group test of 20 students at Negeri 24 Kramat Jati Elementary School, East Jakarta with 45 model items. In a large group trial of 60 students with 31 item models. The effectiveness test of 30 students used the locomotor test with the one group pretest-posttest design, the pre-test data was obtained for 42.7333 and the post-test 72.6333 so that there is a difference with a difference of 29.9, meaning that there is a significant difference and the value of the effectiveness test The post-test is higher than the pre-test score, so based on this it can be concluded that the application of the Outbound Basic Motion Education (OBME) learning model developed by this writer is effective in improving basic locomotor movement skills of elementary school children. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that: (1) With this Outbound Basic Motion Education (OBME) learning model students can learn more effectively and efficiently, (2) with this Outbound Basic Motion Education (OBME) learning model, an increase is obtained. It is shown in the pre-test and post-test results that there is a significant difference.
