JEP diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Padang secara berkala dua kali dalam setahun yaitu bulai Mei dan November.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a product and to find out its eligibility and students’s response of module based education for sustainable development (EfSD) on ecology concept for X grade students. Research and development (R&D) method with Dick & Carey model was used in this research. It consisted of 5 stages, that were Analysis, Planning, Development, Formative Evaluation, and Revision. Instrument validation was assessed by experts (concept, media and teachers). According to the result of expert assesment, the module earned score 94%. The score was included into very decent category. The score of students’s response was 84,4%. The score was included into very worth category. It can be concluded module based EfSD on ecology concept for X grade students was  very decent for learning material.

Abstract

Edupark is a park with a variety of rides and ecosystems that can be used as a learning tool. Ngarai Sianok, Bukittinggi is a national Geopark area that has a nature tourism vehicle and Minang Fantasy (MiFan) Padang Panjang Water Park is an artificial tourist game vehicle. In general, visitors to attractions only take advantage of the natural landscape or a vehicle to take photos, sports such as jogging, hiking, camping, family gathering or low impact outbound. Without them knowing it, there are many physics concepts in both natural and artificial games that can be used as learning resources by integrating into high school physics learning in the form of physics teaching materials or integrated in learning models. However, there are actually educa-tional values, especially the physical concepts contained in the game. The purpose of this study is to integrate Edupark Ngarai Sianok and MiFan Water Park because it remembers so many Physics concepts found in natural or artificial tourism. The process of collecting data through observation and study of literature. The results showed that Edupark physics could be integrated in learning physics according to the 2013 curriculum

Abstract

The 21st century education requires students to be able to think critically, collaboratively, communicate, be creative and innovate. The Indonesian government made efforts to address the demands of 21st century education by developing a 2013 curriculum that contained 4C skills. The learning process requires a textbook as a learning research. Learning textbooks circulating are not in accordance with 2013 curriculum criteria to improve 4C skills. The purpose of this study is to find out the Physics of Learning Textbooks for Class XII High School Semester 1 able to facilitate the implementation of 4C skills in the 21st century. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The population of the data in the study were all physics of learning textbooks for class XII High School Semester 1. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study was 5 Physics of learning Textbooks for Class XII High School Semester 1. The data in the study were taken using a questionnaire instrument. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the average for each component of 4C Skills, namely critical thinking skills (C1) obtained by 85, collaboration skills (C2) by 93.57, communication skills (C3) by 78.50 and creative thinking and innovation skills (C4) by 65.45.

Abstract

The main problem in the Junior High School of West Rengat is the absence of biology laboratory work guide for the practical activities. The presentation of the biology laboratory work guide in the student work sheets, and text books is still in a cookery model. It is not optimal to support student?s skill in science process. The aimed of this research to produce a valid, practical and efffective biology practical guide based on scientific approach for student at class VII of MTs/SMP in 2nd semester. The research used the Plomp model that has the preliminary research, the prototype phase and assessment phase. The data collect used validator sheet, practicalities by teacher and students questionnaires, observations of student activity sheets, student motivation questionnaire, and the paper-pencil test to cognitive student competence. The data were analyzed with the description of the percentage. The results showed that the biology laboratory work guide based on scientific approach for student at class VII of MTs/SMP in 2nd semester have validation score 83,05% (very valid category), the practicalities score 87,56%  (very practice), and effectiveness score 84,36% (very effective). It can conclude that the biology laboratory work-guide based on scientific approach for student at class VII of MTs/SMP in 2nd semester has very valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

E-learning lecture system is a lecture system that has been the talk of the world for several years. With regard to this e-learning process, there will still be teaching materials that are made. Teaching materials in the form of material for one semester published through e-learning media. Each teaching material needs to go through the validation process. So far, teaching materials created by lecturers only to support the lecture process, not many lecturers who validate the teaching materials given to students. The importance of validation of teaching materials is necessary to see the suitability of teaching materials to business / industry needs, so that the teaching materials are appropriate and suitable for use in learning. Therefore, the research is conducted to determine the validity of this resource. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the validity of basic chemistry textbook content for e-learning lecture system in FKIP UMMY Solok? To answer the problem formulation used R & D research method using 4D development model. The content validation of Textbook is done by expert consideration method and for data analysis of expert consideration result, used CVR index developed by Lawshe. Validation of this textbook aims to see the suitability of the content or substance of teaching materials. Triangulation results of expert consideration data obtained information that the validity of Basic Chemistry Basic textbook relevant / viable in terms of content and can be used for e-learning lecture system.

Abstract

The scenario of Industry 4.0 and 21st century skills show rapidly increase and informed. In this century, the main goal of our educational system should be able to answer students needed for living in the world. In recent years, STEM Education has received growing attention to be considered to understand STEM Education. In the South East Asia, Indonesia is one of the biggest country has a large number of human resources that should be developed. This study was aimed to examine the movement of STEM education in Indonesia within the scope of 21st century skills categories by using the content analysis method, examine best practice of STEM education for teachers by investigating engineering design skills training and reviewed the literature from 1990 to 2016 that has emphasized on development of STEM education around the world. The findings showed that STEM Education has been developed around Indonesia and has a positive impact to enhance students? concept comprehension, literacy, and creativity. Many researches provide evidence the best practice for science teacher to implement STEM Education. STEM has a close to daily life and increase student awareness with the environment.

Abstract

Science learning has an important role for students to understand natural phenomena with scientific methods. Science learning is taught in an integrated manner and contains literacy in it. Skills in literacy are needed to help students understand learning resources. One type of literacy is scientific literacy. Scientific literacy is the ability to understand or get involved with science issues and ideas around the environment. Scientific literacy consists of four aspects, namely 1) the scientific context, 2) the scientific process, 3) the scientific concept and 4) the scientific attitude. This research is a descriptive research that contains a description of the object under research. The object of this research is the integrated science textbook for grade VIII in junior high school. The instrument used in the form of a questionnaire assessment of integrated science textbooks related to scientific literacy aspects. The results showed that, among the five textbooks researched, the best book reviewed in terms of the scientific context and the scientific process was book D with grades of 78.6 and 78.1, respectively. In terms of scientific concepts, the best integrated science textbooks are books A and D with a value of 82.1. Meanwhile, the integrated science textbook that is good to use is seen from the aspect of scientific attitude is book E with a value of 75. After processing the data, it is found that the best book used to improve students' scientific literacy ability is book D with a value of 77.4.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is an ability that is expected to be mastered by students but is still low. Students lack the ability to solve a problem in a various ways.The purpose of this study is to produce a learning tool based on M-APOS theory to improve students' creative thinking abilities.The research method used in this research is research and development which consists of three stages, namely the initial investigation stage, the development stage and the assessment stage.In this section what is done is the preliminary research stage. The instruments used were interview and questionnaire guidelines.The results of the study are: 1) inadequate school facilities and infrastructure, 2) student learning outcomes are still low because students are accustomed to accept what is taught and do not repeat the lessons at home, 3) worksheets that are used by students is not attractive, 4) in the learning process students prefer group learning, 5) students want the questions contained in LKPD to be daily life problems, 6) the learning environment of students who are in the hills and close to the highway, 7) learning styles favored by students are in the form of solving problems in the form of images related to daily life problems, 8) the appearance of worksheets that are liked by students is LKPD which has  pictures and attractive color.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities during learning process with Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model and simultaneously to see the improvement of problem solving ability of students. This research uses a qualitative approach together with quantitative through concurrent embedded strategy. The sample of research is 22 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 4 Pilot Aceh Tamiang. The instruments used are problem solving and semi-structured test. Data of problem solving ability of student during learning with CPS model was analyzed descriptively, while improvement of problem solving ability of student was analyzed by t-test using SPSS software version 22 for windows. The results showed that there was development of problem solving ability of students during learning with CPS model. The development of students 'problem-solving abilities is demonstrated by students' ability to understand problems, plan settlements, solve problems and re-examine them. This ability is evident at every meeting. Further research results also show there is an increase in problem solving skills of students with CPS model.

Abstract

The issues in this study are how learning outcomes, learning motivation and student?s  interest  in mathematics learning material are being affected after applying classroom flipped learning         strategies with a scientific approach to class XI  grade students of SMK 2 Padangpanjang? Are student?s learning outcomes by applying classroom flipped strategies with the scientific approach are   better than the one that does not apply that method? This study aims to describe student?s learning outcomes, motivation, and interests in mathematics learning, and to see whether the experimental class learning outcomes are better than the control class. This research was conducted at SMK 2   Padang Panjang in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample is taken by using the random sampling technique which consisted of two sample groups, and each is consisted of 28 people. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the student?s mathematics learning outcomes are better than the previous one. In addition, student?s motivation towards mathematics learning is in a high level and  students' interests  as well.
