Abstract

Background: Gastric ulcers are stomach lesions characterized by depleted mucosa with the defect extending into the submucosa or muscularis propria. Gastric ulcers could be caused by the use of Indomethacin as an analgesic drug. Turmeric rhizome is a herbal plant that contains curcumin which has been suspected to play a role in gastric ulcer prevention. Objective: The aim of this study was to perceive the effect of turmeric rhizome juice with concentrations of 100%, 75%, and 50% on indomethacin-induced gastric epithelium image in mice. Methods: This experimental study with a Post Test Only Control design was conducted by using 25 samples of male ddY mice for 3 days intervention. Samples were divided into 5 groups, two control groups, and three intervention groups. The organ samples had been observed by assessing the gastric epithelium injury of mice on the antrum under a microscope with an objective lens 100x for eight fields of view. Results: The Kruskal-Wallis test had been used for analysis and showed a p-value of 0,025 which means it had a significant difference. Turmeric juice with concentrations of 100%, 75%, and 50% showed different effects on mice gastric epithelium image induced by Indomethacin (18 mg/kg). Conclusion: There were different effects of turmeric juice on gastric epithelium image induced by Indomethacin in mice.

Abstract

Background: Excessive consumption of monosodium glutamate can disturb digestive tract such as the duodenum. Coffee beans contain caffeine, chlorogenic acid, trigonelin, kafestol, kahweol, melanoidin, and N-methylpyridinium. Its antioxidant potential protects rats from damage to duodenal mucosal epithelium by monosodium glutamate 4 g/kgBB. Objective: To determine the effect of Robusta coffee bean extract on monosodium glutamate-induced duodenum histopatology in Sprague-dawley rats. Method: Experimental research with a post test only control group design that for 14 days intervention. The samples were divided into five groups, two control groups and three intervention groups. The calculation of epithelial damage by manual counting assisted by imageJ 2011 software in 1 slice of each sample with microscope in 40x magnification. Results: One Way ANOVA test available p value = 0.005 (p <0.05). Post Hoc LSD test on duodenal epithelial damage score showed a significant difference (p<0.05) between K- and K+ (p=0.001), K+ and P2 (p=0.004), K+ and P3 (p=0.002). Conclusion: There is an effect of Robusta coffee bean extract on monosodium glutamate-induced duodenum histopatology in Sprague-dawley rats.

Abstract

Background : Perineal wound healing is influenced by various factors, one of which is nutritional status. Consumption of protein and vitamins A and C is essential. Many products are available to accelerate wound healing, but there have not been many studies on the role of pineapple and plum juice in wound healing, especially in the postpartum mother's perineum. Objective : To investigate the effect of giving pineapple and plum juice on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers. Methods : The design of this study was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The sampling technique was accidental sampling involving 66 spontaneous postpartum mothers with episiotomy wounds on the first day. The instruments used include demographic data and wound healing observation sheets. Results : The mean age of respondents in the control and experimental groups was 28 years (84.8%), highly educated (93.9%), and multiparous (69.7%). Giving pineapple and plum juice had a significant effect on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers (p < 0.001). Conclusion : Pineapple and plum juices contribute to the healing of perineal wounds. It is hoped that mothers can apply pineapple and plum juice interventions by making their juice to help the perineal suture wound healing process. Abstract

Introduction: According to the results of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) conducted in September 2020, Indonesia has a population of approximately 270 million people, making it the fourth most populous country in the world. With such a large population, the government needs to address various societal needs, including those in the fields of law, economy, education, and especially healthcare. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and nurse performance at Husada Hospital Jakarta. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. Results: Chi-square test results show a significance value of 0.012, which is less than 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This suggests a relationship between HMIS and nurse effectiveness. The Odds Ratio (OR) of 8.000 indicates that nurses who do not use HMIS effectively are 8 times more likely to be ineffective compared to those who use HMIS effectively. Conclusion: Optimal implementation of HMIS should be a priority to achieve operational efficiency and improve service quality in hospitals.
