Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the comparison of Ivanna Van Dijk novel by Risa Saraswati with the novel Ananta Prahadi by Risa Saraswati through a sociology approach. This research method is a qualitative descriptive research method. The research data is data in the form of words, phrase phrases or sentence which show social values ​​in Ivanna Van Dijk novel by Risa Saraswati with the novel Ananta Prahadi by Risa Saraswati. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that Ivanna Van Dijk novel by Risa Saraswati with the novel Ananta Prahadi by Risa Saraswati had similarities, namely dominant in the social value of human nature to others in social life, so that the story was easy to understand. The difference is that the value of Ivana Van Dijk social novel by Risa Saraswati tends to be more about the nature of human relations which considers life to be bad while in Ananta Prahadi novels tends to social values ​​in the form of human relations with each other, it means that dealing with others is something that is not good or even only will have a bad impact and can hinder everything he wants to do, he is amazed that it can solve all problems by itself without requiring help from anyone. Furthermore, Ananta Prahadi novel does not lead to horror stories, unlike the Ivana Van Dijk novel whose stories contain horror stories.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe social stratification in the novel of Pabrik written by Putu Wijaya based on the elements if its intrinsic. The method which was used in this research is descriptive method. Data analysis techniques begin with data reduction, data presentation, conclusions, and verification. Test the validity of the data in the form of expert validity test related to the results of analysis of research data. The results of the analysis of social stratification in this novel tell various problems about social stratification in the environment of a factory. Social stratification that occurs includes classes in society, criteria in the layers of society, and position or status in society that is seen based on the criteria contained in the intrinsic elements contained in the novel. Social stratification in the novel of Pabrik can be used as one of the teaching materials for Indonesian language teachers in explaining the building elements of the novel.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant influence on the use of the snowball throwing learning model on the ability to identify the intrinsic elements of drama texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri O Mangunharjo. The research method used a pure experimental method with a control group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were all students of Class VIII of SMP Negeri O Mangunharjo, amounting to 148 students. Two classes were taken as a sample using simple random sampling technique, namely class VIII C totaling 30 students as the experimental class and class VIII B totaling 30 students as the control class. Data collection techniques use test techniques in the form of essay tests. This data analysis technique is carried out using the "t" test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the snowball throwing learning model on the ability to identify the intrinsic elements of drama texts of class VIII students of SMP Negeri O Mangunharjo. This is evidenced by the results of tcount = 2.73 greater ttable = 2.00 at the significance level of 5% then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation towards the learning achievement of Indonesian language for non native speakers (BIPA) at 7th semester students in Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program. The research methods used was quantitative method with correlation design. The instruments of research were interviews, observation and questionnaire respondents' statements to 40 students at 7th semester. This was done in order to find out how the relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement by using correlational, determination and significance test. The purpose was to improve and evaluate the learning achievement. Due to the results of the calculation analysis by using Pearson correlation coefficient formula, there was a positive effect of correlation between learning motivation towards the learning achievement, which was equal of r = 0.50 that includes a fairly strong category (0.40–0.599). The results of testing the formula of t count is > t table that is 0.62 > 0.31, which means that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It means, the learning motivation as variable X has a significant influence on the learning achievement as variable Y. So, BIPA teaching materials are appropriate to be designed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the principle of cooperation in Drama Manuscripts Bila Mencintai Dayang Tari by Benny Arnas. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this study is a one-round drama script Bila Mencintai Dayang Tari by Benny Arnas. Data analysis in this study included data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study showed that the principle of cooperation used in the drama script Bila Mencintai Dayang Tari by Benny Arnas was dominated by the use of quality maxims in each dialogue. In addition, the maxim of quantity, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of implementation are used. Maximized quality, quantity maxim, relevance maxim, and implementation maxims used in drama scripts show that directly between speakers and spoken partners provide information as desired between the two so as to provide readers with a good understanding.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the pidgin language of Thailand students who lived in Tanggerang. The data in this research was the forming of new language from some others languages or it is called as pidgin. This research had two types of data; primary and secondary data. Primary data was the result of interview. While, secondary data was all references that relevance to the research. Due to the research problem, the qualitative descriptive research design was used. There were some techniques used to collect the data such as observation, interview, and documentation. In this research, the content analysis data analysis method was also used. So, based on the analysis of data, the result of the research was pidgin as the simplify of language form. For example, morpholgy form, syntax, tolerance of phonology variance, reduction of some function, and absorption of language from other languages.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe idiolects use of Thai language into Indonesian. The research method uses descriptive qualitative methods with content analysis techniques. The technique of collecting data uses interviewing techniques and note-taking techniques. The researcher observed and analyzed the results of data collection using the extralingual equivalent method, by examining the pronunciation (phonology) of students when speaking in good and correct Indonesian. The results of the study showed that Thai students in the pronunciation of everyday language using Indonesian were good enough. However, if viewed from a linguistic point of view, there are still errors in pronunciation and are still halting in saying words because they are influenced by the Thai dialect. The results of this study can be used as evaluations in second language learning especially foreign student learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe words and sentences as Pijin in Indonesian television advertisements. This study uses a qualitative approach. The research method in this study is the method of content analysis, especially in analyzing Pijin in Indonesian television advertisements. Data collection techniques use documentation, observation, and note taking techniques. Data sources related to Pijin research in Indonesian TV broadcasts, namely: Chocolathos, Go Jek, Fulvita Selasih, Open Lapak, Axis, and Tickets.com. Data analysis techniques by: data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The validity test of the data is done by expert triangulation and validation. From the results of the study, the use of Pijin in Indonesian television advertisements, there are six vocabulary words from Pijin in six advertisements, namely: bete, emejing, syantik, okay, lemot, and chayank. Pijin language can be seen from a simple language structure compared to the source language, which Pijin language can be seen in aspects of grammar and pronunciation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of students' writing skills in Indonesian language subjects for material writing poetry between students who were given the Word Guess Method and conventional method. This research uses quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study was all fourth grade students of Taman Cibodas Elementary School, with the total number were 62 students. Class IVA with the number of students were 32 students as the experimental class, and class IVB with the number of students were 32 students as the control class. Data collection techniques using test techniques with essay writing skills test instruments consisting of 1 item that has been tested for validity. Hypothesis testing in this study used the t-test. The results showed that there was a significant influence on the method of guessing words on the ability to write poetry for fourth grade students at SDN Taman Cibodas. This is evidenced by testing the posttest hypothesis from the results of the t-test obtained tcount=4.47 and ttable=2.00. Thus, this can be interpreted that the writing skills using the word guessing method are higher than using conventional learning methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity of teaching materials LKS writing drama scripts for eighth-grade students of Musi Rawas Regency. Teaching materials developed to increase student interest in class VIII SMP throughout Musi Rawas Regency. Researchers are also motivated to conduct this development research because they want to add learning references in writing drama scripts. Therefore, the researcher wants to develop a Student Worksheet with examples of drama scripts based on the folklore Musi Rawas. The method used is the research and development (R&D) method with the Dick & Carey model which is limited to 8 stages. Expert validation was carried out with three experts, namely design validation expert, linguistic validation expert, and content/material validation expert. The research instruments were divided into the test, questionnaire, interview, questionnaire, rating scale, and attitude scale, observation, and sociometry. Research activities in developing this teaching material model, researchers used test guideline instruments, interviews, questionnaires, and observation sheets to validate research data. The results showed that the validity of LKS teaching materials writing drama scripts for eighth-grade students of Musi Rawas Regency was included in the good category with a percentage of 79.17% originating from the results of design, language, and material validation experts. Thus, the validity of LKS teaching material writing drama scripts in this study can be accepted as correct. The LKS teaching materials developed were valid and the LKS teaching materials after being tested at school could increase the interest in learning to write drama scripts for eighth-grade students of Musi Rawas.
