Abstract

Anak usia awal mengalami perkembangan yang cenderung cepat pada berbagai aspek karena sedang ada di Masa usia dini merupakan periode emas dalam perkembangan anak, termasuk dalam aspek linguistik. Kemampuan anak dalam mengenal dan menggunakan ragam bahasa Indonesia tidak terbentuk secara instan, melainkan melalui proses pemerolehan bahasa yang kompleks dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana faktor-faktor psikologis dan lingkungan sosial berkontribusi dalam perkembangan ragam bahasa pada anak usia awal. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan, kajian ini menemukan bahwa perkembangan kognitif, keterlibatan orang tua, interaksi dengan lingkungan budaya, serta hubungan dengan teman sebaya memiliki peran penting dalam merangsang dan membentuk kemampuan berbahasa anak. Melalui proses observasi, imitasi, dan pengulangan, anak mulai mengakuisisi ragam bahasa yang digunakan di sekitarnya. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya stimulasi bahasa yang kaya dan kontekstual dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang linguistik anak sejak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in students' speech writing skills before and after using the YouTube-assisted experiential learning model and to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the model in improving the speech writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Cibitung. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non- equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 80 students divided into two classes, namely the control class (using the blended learning model) and the experimental class (using the YouTube-assisted experiential learning model). Data collection was carried out through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and tests. Data analysis techniques include normality, homogeneity, N-Gain, and t-test tests using SPSS version 30.0. The results showed that the average posttest score of students in the experimental class (86.5) was higher than the control class (73.8). The N-Gain value in the experimental class was 0.72 (quite effective category) while the control class was 0.39 (ineffective category). The results of the t-test showed a significant difference between the two (sig. <0.01). In addition, the results of the questionnaire showed an increase in students' positive perceptions of learning. Thus, the YouTube-assisted experiential learning model has proven to be effective compared to the blended learning model in improving the ability to write speech texts of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Cibitungm.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the types of code-mixing, identify the factors that influence its use, and explain its relation to moral and educational values in the comment section of the Kabar Kampong Kito Instagram account. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through documentation techniques and data analysis using distributional and referential methods. The results show that the most dominant type of code-mixing is inner code mixing, which involves mixing Indonesian vocabulary with Jambi dialect Malay within a single utterance. In addition, outer code mixing was also found, involving the insertion of foreign terms such as shock therapy, viral, and goldlane, as well as hybrid code mixing, which combines all three languages in one comment. Identified code-mixing patterns include Jambi-Indonesia-Jambi, Jambi-Indonesia–Jambi–Indonesia-Jambi,Indonesia-Inggris, and Indonesia–Inggris-Jambi.The factors that contribute to code-mixing include local language habits, cultural and social identity, emotional expression, the influence of social media and digital trends, as well as contextual needs in delivering social criticism or satire. Code-mixing serves not only as a means of communication but also as a medium for conveying moral and educational values, such as responsibility, discipline, legal awareness, and character education indirectly. It is also used as a form of cultural participation and preservation of regional identity in the digital space. Thus, the findings indicate that code-mixing is a dynamic and contextual language practice that functions as an educational medium and a reflection of the social and cultural identity of the Jambi community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent to which the application of the Discovery Learning model significantly influences the speech writing skills of eighth-grade students at Sultan Iskandar Muda Junior High School. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method, because the main focus is to test the influence or causal relationship between the use of the Discovery Learning model and students' speech writing skills. The subjects of this study were eighth-grade students of Sultan Iskandar Muda Junior High School. Class VIII was selected based on the consideration that at this level students already have basic writing skills, but still require further guidance in composing systematic and communicative speech texts. The study population consisted of 32 students, and the sampling technique used was total sampling, so that all members of the population were used as research samples. The results showed that the application of Discovery Learning (variable X) had a positive and significant influence on students' speech writing skills (variable Y) in the Indonesian Language subject. In other words, the more optimal the application of the Discovery Learning model, the better the students' ability to write speech texts effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of difficulties experienced by tenth-grade students of Eka Prasetya Senior High School Medan in writing observation texts, to identify and analyze the factors contributing to these difficulties, and to examine the strategies employed by teachers to address them. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research explores students’ perceptions of the challenges they face in writing observation texts, with detailed data collection through direct interaction with the principal, Indonesian language teachers, and students. The findings reveal that students’ difficulties in writing observation texts are primarily related to linguistic aspects and text structure. The contributing factors include the lack of engaging learning models and overly monotonous, teacher-dominated instruction. To overcome these difficulties, teachers applied several strategies, such as providing contextual text examples and step-by-step guidance to understand structure and language, facilitating direct observation with supervision and written feedback, and implementing scaffolding techniques through object selection, outlining, drafting, and intensive revision support. Teachers also utilized visual media and technology to concretize object understanding, encouraged collaborative group discussions to foster idea exchange and strengthen comprehension of text structure, and provided personalized and constructive feedback to improve students’ writing. Furthermore, teachers built students’ motivation and self-confidence by appreciating their writing process and gradual progress.

Abstract

This study aims to identify five levels of hierarchy of needs according to Abraham Maslow's theory in the main character in the television series entitled Gadis Kretek. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely a research method that aims to examine the object or subject of research in detail, such as presenting information such as events, symptoms, and incidents as they are. The data collection technique used is the technique of observing and recording, while the data analysis technique uses a technique consisting of data reduction, then presenting the data and then drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the discovery of five levels of hierarchy of needs according to Maslow's theory, namely physiological needs, security needs, social needs, esteem needs and self-actualization needs. The main character Jeng Yah in the television series entitled Gadis Kretek has achieved the highest need of Maslow's five needs, namely the need for self-actualization. This is because the main character, Jeng Yah, has achieved four levels of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, namely physiological needs, security needs, social needs, and esteem needs.

Abstract

Scientific writing skills are one of the important skills that students need to have, especially vocational students, because scientific writing skills are needed in the workplace and train critical, systematic, and logical thinking. However, many students still experience difficulties in writing scientific papers, both in terms of writing structure and linguistic aspects. This study aims to describe the scientific writing skills of grade XI vocational students at MAN 2 Banyumas in the 2024/2025 academic year based on the writing structure (beginning, main/content section, and ending section) and linguistic aspects (language variety, spelling, punctuation, cohesion, coherence, and main idea). These two aspects are listed in the learning objectives of scientific work material. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through documentation, observation, and interviews. The main data were seven student scientific papers in the form of papers. The results of the study indicate that in terms of writing structure, each data indicates that the components in the beginning, core/content, and end are incomplete. Similarly, many linguistic aspects, namely language variety, spelling, punctuation, cohesion and coherence, are still not fulfilled. Only two data have fulfilled the cohesion and coherence. And each data already contains the main idea. Thus, the scientific writing skills of vocational students from the writing structure and linguistic aspects have been fulfilled with an average achievement of 22.45%. This finding indicates that vocational students need guidance to be able to produce scientific papers that are systematically structured, have a complete writing structure, and comply with linguistic rules.

Abstract

The public debate over the legitimacy of Joko Widodo's diploma involves not only legal debates but also ideological content and linguistic strategies that reflect power relations in Indonesian politics. This study uses Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach to examine the micro-dimensions of language, specifically the aspects of cohesion, transitivity, modality, diction, and metaphor used in the debate. A descriptive qualitative method was applied with a focus on one episode of the debate on the iNews YouTube channel, using listening techniques and verbatim transcription. The results reveal that these five micro-linguistic aspects work synergistically in representing and reproducing ideologies that strengthen the position and dominance of power in political discourse. These findings provide a new contribution to the development of CDA, especially in the micro-level of Indonesian politics and emphasize the role of language as a tool of ideological struggle in public debate. The limited focus on one episode and micro-dimension is a limitation of this research, opening up opportunities for further study with a broader context and integration of macro-dimensions. The implications of this research are important for a critical understanding of language use in politics and social communication.

Abstract

Pendidikan di era ini perlu diintegrasikan dengan inovasi teknologi, salah satunya penerapan media pembelajaran berbantuan teknologi Artificial Intelligence. Mahasiswa sebagai generasi digital membutuhkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristiknya. Namun, media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang digunakan, banyak yang masih cenderung bersifat konvensional dan belum memanfaatkan teknologi, apalagi teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) yang saat ini cukup populer. Kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) dapat dimanfaatkan pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia sehingga menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang kontekstual sesuai zaman, inovatif, responsif, dan interaktif sesuai kebutuhan mahasiswa. Artikel ini berisi penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa website berjudul “Sahabat Bahasa Indonesia”. Media pembelajaran tersebut terintegrasi Artificial Intelligence (AI) yang mampu mendeteksi kesalahan berbahasa dan memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan pada hasil tulisan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memakai metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran berupa website “Sahabat Bahasa Indonesia” yang berisi Materi Bahasa berbentuk teks dan video pembelajaran, Kuis Interaktif, Menu Menulis dengan editor teks berbasis AI untuk koreksi bahasa serta rekomendasi perbaikan, Latihan Interaktif, dan Portofolio Mahasiswa. Pada tahap akhir dihasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran “Sahabat Bahasa Indonesia” yang dinilai mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menulis teks akademik.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji secara sistematis pengaruh pendekatan multisensori terhadap peningkatan kesadaran fonologis dan penguasaan huruf pada siswa sekolah dasar dengan disleksia. Studi ini menggunakan desain studi literatur sistematis dengan pencarian pada PubMed, ERIC, Scopus, Web of Science, dan Google Scholar, menggunakan kata kunci terkait multisensory instruction, phonological awareness, letter sound mapping, dan dyslexia. Sintesis terhadap studi primer dan meta analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan multisensori memberikan peningkatan signifikan dengan besaran efek kecil hingga sedang pada kesadaran fonologis dan penguasaan huruf, terutama pada intervensi yang intensif dan terstruktur. Pendekatan multisensori direkomendasikan sebagai komponen penting intervensi literasi awal bagi siswa dengan disleksia, meskipun penelitian lebih lanjut masih diperlukan untuk memperkuat validitas eksternal dan membandingkannya dengan fonik eksplisit murni
