Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of wooden palm-shaped puzzles with numbers on the ability to recognize number symbols 1–10 in fourth-grade children with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB C TPA Jember. The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest within a quasi-experimental framework, involving four students selected purposively. The test instrument consisted of 10 items that met quality criteria, with item-total validity values ranging from 0.890–0.992 and very high reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.985). Posttest results showed an increase in students' ability to recognize, name, and differentiate number symbols 1–10 after learning using the puzzles. In conclusion, wooden palm-shaped puzzles are effective as a concrete and multisensory learning medium for basic numeracy.   Keywords: Mild Intellectual Disability, Quasi-Experiment, Number Symbols, Basic Numeracy, Wooden Puzzles

Abstract

This study aims to develop an engaging and interactive learning media in the form of the Uno card game, resulting in a valid, practical, and effective medium. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Twenty students participated in the study. The results showed that the developed media was highly valid, with scores for the language validator of 0.93, the media validator of 0.90, and the material validator of 0.90. The average practicality percentage of the media was 94.6%, consisting of 100% individual testing, 95.23% small group testing, and 88.57% teacher response, thus categorizing it as highly practical. In conclusion, the media was proven effective in improving student learning outcomes, as indicated by an increase in the average pre-test score from 53 to 80.5 in the post-test, with an N-gain value of 0.57, which is in the moderate category.   Keywords: Learning Media, Uno Cards, Pancasila Education, ADDIE

Abstract

This study investigates the comparative effects of (1) conventional learning, (2) Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and (3) PjBL integrated with NotebookLM on undergraduate students' creative attitudes and learning outcomes in the Instructional Media Design course. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent three-group pretest-posttest control group was employed. Participants were 103 students distributed across three intact classes: a control group (n = 34) receiving conventional instruction, Experiment 1 (n = 34) using PjBL, and Experiment 2 (n = 35) using PjBL integrated with NotebookLM as an AI-assisted research tool. Data were collected using a validated 32-item creative attitude scale (α = 0.89) and a 40-item cognitive achievement test (KR-20 = 0.87). Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey HSD post-hoc tests and normalized gain (N-Gain) scores. Results showed significant differences across groups for both creative attitude (F = 47.82, p < .001, η² = .40) and learning outcomes (F = 54.37, p < .001, η² = .45). Post-hoc tests confirmed that Experiment 2 significantly outperformed both Experiment 1 and the control group on all measures (p < .001). N-Gain scores for Experiment 2 reached 0.60 (creative attitude) and 0.66 (learning outcomes), compared to 0.43 and 0.51 for Experiment 1, and 0.27 and 0.36 for the control group. These findings suggest that while PjBL alone improves learning, its integration with AI-powered tools such as NotebookLM yields substantially greater gains in creativity and achievement.   Keywords: Project-Based Learning; Notebooklm; Creative Attitude; Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher strategies in addressing the challenges of individual learning for autistic children at SLB B Branjangan Jember. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The results indicate that teacher strategies for individual learning have been systematically developed through initial assessments, the development of individual learning programs (ILPs), and the application of methods based on behavioristic, TEACCH, and humanistic approaches. The main challenges faced include limited time, a lack of support staff, and tantrums in children when routines are disrupted. In conclusion, collaboration between teachers and parents proved to be a significant supporting strategy, with daily communication and parental involvement in school activities playing a role in children's learning success. These results underscore the importance of adaptive learning strategies, institutional support, and family involvement in the ongoing education of autistic children.   Keywords: Children with Autism, Individual Learning, Teacher Strategies
