Abstract

The process of comprehending a text in which the reader, the text, and the context interact is known as reading comprehension. Reading comprehension makes it easier for someone to understand what they are reading. The purpose of this study was to determine whether using technology-based learning resources may improve the reading comprehension of tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Botomuzoi in 2023–2024. Observation sheet exercises, tests, and field notes were used to gather data for this study, which aims to determine how technology-based learning materials might be used to enhance students' reading comprehension. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was the methodology employed in this study. Based on the findings of the first cycle, which had an average of 45% of students who responded to a test question, researchers completed their study in two cycles. Because the first cycle's value fell short of the 70% Minimum Competency Criteria, the researcher proceeded to the second cycle once the first cycle was finished.  The second cycle's average score for students who responded to the test questions was 85%. in order for students' reading comprehension to be enhanced through the use of technology-based learning resource.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of Wisata Alam Indonesia application on user experience using Usability Testing and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method. The study focuses on 6th semester students of class A from the English Education Study Program at Universitas Nias. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measures six scale: attractiveness, efficiency, perspicuity, dependability, stimulation, and novelty and five components of usability testing: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, satisfaction. The research findings show that the Wisata Alam Indonesia application has a positive effect on user experience, with the highest scores in attractiveness (mean score = 4.73) and novelty (mean score = 10.15). However, areas such as efficiency (mean score = 3.65) and perspicuity (mean score = 3.19) present opportunities for improvement. The overall average score for user experience was 46.42, while the usability testing of the application revealed a mean score of 45.00. The correlation coefficient (r = 0.896) indicates a very strong positive relationship between the usability of the application (Wisata Alam Indonesia) and user experience. The hypothesis testing results support this conclusion, with the t-test showing thitung = 9.911 > ttabel = 2.063 and the F-test indicating Fhitung = 98.228 > Ftabel = 4.259, both of which confirm the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. These results suggest that the Wisata Alam Indonesia application can enhance user satisfaction, but adjustments in certain usability components could further improve the experience.

Abstract

Anxiety is one of the affective factors that influences foreign language learning, particularly in speaking. Anxiety appears to be an important factor in language learning progress, as it has a hindering effect on learners' oral performance. One approach to addressing this issue is through "English Content Creator" training. This training aims not only to improve English language skills but also to equip tour guides with the ability to create creative content relevant to tourism. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach. As we know, typical English learners among tour guides in these villages often experience high levels of apprehension when speaking, such as fear of making mistakes, nervousness, and lack of confidence. To help them overcome this anxiety, it is crucial for educators to encourage tour guides to learn English in a fun and engaging way, one of which is through the use of content creators.

Abstract

The "Semua adalah pemimpin (SEMAI)" program at UPT SPF SDN Percontohan PAM Makassar tackles the problem of inequitable leadership chances among elementary students, which may impede the cultivation of essential social, emotional, and leadership competencies. The approach guarantees that each student acquires leadership experience by rotating the class presidency on a weekly basis. This qualitative, descriptive-exploratory study assesses the SEMAI program's impact, problems, and efficacy in promoting inclusive leadership, while examining its potential for wider implementation. The data gathering comprised comprehensive interviews, observations, and document analysis involving instructors, students, and parents. The findings indicated substantial enhancements in students' self-assurance, social engagement, and emotional control. Furthermore, the program diminished students' dependence on devices and motivated other initiatives at other educational institutions. Notwithstanding these achievements, issues including disparate levels of student engagement and heightened teacher effort were recognized. The study presents an innovative contribution to educational leadership by proposing a scalable, cost-effective methodology for fostering inclusivity and leadership abilities in primary education, a domain seldom investigated, especially in Indonesia. This strategy corresponds with international objectives for fair education and illustrates how these initiatives can mitigate systemic obstacles while promoting individual development and community influence.

Abstract

The length of school hours has a significant impact on students' physical and mental health, raising concerns about balancing academic demands with well-being. In countries like Indonesia, long school hours often lead to issues like fatigue, stress, and poor nutrition. Conversely, countries with shorter school days, such as Finland, show better health outcomes. This study aims to explore the relationship between school hours and student health, providing evidence-based recommendations for education policy reform. Its innovative approach compares different cultural and educational contexts, including Indonesia, to highlight region-specific effects. Using qualitative methods, the research involved interviews, observations, and document analysis, gathering data from students, parents, and teachers. Findings suggest that longer school hours negatively affect physical activity, sleep, and overall well-being, while shorter hours and later start times improve mental health and academic engagement. Indonesia’s Karja Sezi program demonstrates the effectiveness of policies, like regulated meals, in reducing health risks. This study contributes to discussions on education and health, offering actionable insights for policymakers to create balanced school schedules that support both academic success and student well-being.
