Public speaking anxiety, commonly referred to as glossophobia, is a manifestation of social phobia frequently experienced by students at the secondary education level. This condition may hinder students’ communication skills, academic participation, and the development of self-confidence. Therefore, effective and evidence-based counseling interventions are required to help students manage such anxiety. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)-based counseling services in reducing public speaking anxiety among eighth-grade students at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group model. The research participants consisted of 16 students selected through purposive sampling and assigned to either an experimental group or a control group. Data were collected before and after the intervention using a glossophobia questionnaire developed based on three main aspects: physiological, psychological, and behavioral. Data analysis was conducted to compare anxiety scores before and after the intervention. The results indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental group, with a significance value of p = 0.048 (p < 0.05). The experimental group showed a substantial decrease in glossophobia scores, from a mean of 72.62 to 38.88, while the control group experienced only a slight reduction from 84.63 to 43.50. These findings demonstrate that CBT-based counseling services are significantly effective in reducing public speaking anxiety among students. The results provide important implications for school guidance and counseling practices, particularly in implementing CBT interventions to help students manage glossophobia in a more adaptive manner.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami peran dukungan sosial yang diberikan oleh individu dewasa awal kepada teman sebaya yang melakukan Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI). Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap dua partisipan dewasa awal yang memberikan dukungan sosial kepada teman yang mengalami NSSI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial yang diberikan meliputi dimensi emosional, instrumental, informasional, dan jaringan sosial, yang dipengaruhi oleh kualitas hubungan, motivasi pemberian dukungan, serta konsistensi dalam memantau kondisi teman. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan intervensi sosial dan psikologis untuk mendukung individu dengan perilaku NSSI, meskipun penelitian ini terbatas pada kelompok usia dan jenis kelamin tertentu sehingga perlu penelitian lebih lanjut untuk memperluas pemahaman.

Learning hijaiah letters for deaf children presents unique challenges, especially in distinguishing the sounds of these letters due to hearing limitations. This study aims to describe the implementation of the drill method using clay media in teaching hijaiah letters to deaf children at PKBM. The research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data was collected through observations and interviews with one teacher. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing.The study results indicate that the drill method can help enhance children's memory and understanding of hijaiah letters, primarily through repetitive exercises and visually appealing clay media. Using clay media provides a more engaging visual learning experience, improving children's concentration and involvement in the learning process. The combination of the drill method, clay media, and sign language has proven effective in helping children accurately recognize the shapes of hijaiah letters. This study highlights that the learning of hijaiah letters can be better implemented through a more interactive approach tailored to the needs of deaf children

Nomophobia (no mobile-phone phobia), defined as excessive anxiety when individuals are unable to access their smartphones, has become a serious challenge among adolescents, particularly junior high school students growing up in the digital era. Uncontrolled smartphone use may disrupt learning concentration, social relationships, and students’ mental health. Therefore, effective counseling interventions that are relevant to adolescents’ developmental characteristics are needed. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of reality counseling using the WDEP (Wants, Doing, Evaluation, Planning) technique in reducing nomophobia among ninth-grade students at SMP Adh Dhuha Jember. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test–post-test control group model. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of students identified as having high levels of nomophobia based on pre-test results. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using an independent sample t-test to examine differences in nomophobia levels between the experimental and control groups. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The mean score of the experimental group decreased substantially from 88 in the pre-test to 45.38 in the post-test after receiving the reality counseling intervention, whereas the reduction in the control group was less pronounced. These findings demonstrate that reality counseling with the WDEP technique is effective in reducing nomophobia among junior high school students. This study provides important practical implications for school guidance and counseling services in designing interventions that are responsive to adolescents’ digital behavior problems in the technology-driven era.

Food neophobia merupakan kecenderungan individu untuk menolak atau menghindari makanan baru yang belum pernah dikonsumsi sebelumnya. Sikap ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor personal seperti jenis kelamin dan indeks massa tubuh (IMT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kelamin dan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) terhadap tingkat food neophobia. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan metode survei, melibatkan 134 responden berusia 18–25 tahun yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner skala food neophobia yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil analisis menggunakan GLM menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin berpengaruh signifikan terhadap food neophobia (F = 6,596; p = 0,011; η² = 0,048), demikian pula interaksi antara jenis kelamin dan IMT (F = 7,261; p = 0,008; η² = 0,053). Perempuan lebih rentan terhadap food neophobia dibandingkan laki-laki. Semakin tinggi Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) pada seorang wanita, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat food neophobia yang dimilikinya.

The choice to be voluntarily single is a form of individual independence in determining their life path. However, in a collective culture like Indonesia, this chage is often inseparable from social pressure and family expectations. Family support is believed to have an important role in helping individuals interpret their choices positively, which ultimately affects life satisfaction. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and life satisfaction in voluntarily single people in Maluku. The subjects of the study were 100 early adults selected by purposive sampling. Data collection used a scale of family support and life satisfaction measurement. Statistical data analysis used Spearman Product Moment correlation. The results of this study found that there was a significant relationship between family support and life satisfaction in volunteer single people in Maluku (r = 0.703 and sig=0.000). This means that the higher the family support, the higher the life satisfaction of a person, it is expected to be able to view the status they are living positively as a result of personal choices that are under their control.

This study aims to explore the dynamics of Vicarious Posttraumatic Growth (VPTG) among Emergency Room nurses who experience Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS). A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three male nurses aged 30–34 and analyzed using MAXQDA software. Findings revealed that participants experienced STS due to exposure to patient deaths, traumatic injuries, medical procedure failures, and family pressure. Nonetheless, they also demonstrated positive growth, including increased empathy, personal strength, new life plans, and spiritual change. Social support and professional training facilitated this growth, while excessive workload and unresolved trauma acted as barriers. These results suggest that despite STS pressures, nurses have the capacity for psychological growth when supported by a conducive environment and adaptive coping strategies.

The increasing prevalence of adolescents raised by single parents has raised concerns regarding their psychological adjustment and capacity to cope with life challenges. Adolescents growing up in single-parent families often face various social, emotional, and economic stressors, making resilience a crucial psychological resource for their development. This study aimed to examine the effects of social support and spirituality on the resilience of adolescents raised by single parents. A quantitative approach was employed using a correlational design. Convenience sampling was used to select 272 adolescent respondents aged 15 to 19 years who were raised by a single parent and resided in Karawang Regency. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), the Spiritual Health Scale, and the Resilience Adaptation Scale developed by Amaliyah and Fauziah. Multiple regression analysis was applied to examine the effects of the independent variables on adolescent resilience. The results indicated that social support and spirituality had positive and significant effects on resilience, both partially and simultaneously. Together, these variables accounted for 33.7% of the variance in adolescent resilience, while the remaining 66.3% was explained by other factors not examined in this study. These findings suggest that adolescents who perceive higher levels of social support and possess stronger spiritual well-being tend to demonstrate greater resilience in facing life challenges. The results reinforce the importance of strengthening social support networks and fostering spiritual development as protective factors for adolescents raised by single parents. This study provides important implications for guidance and counseling services, educators, and family support programs in promoting resilience among adolescents from single-parent families.

The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) has become increasingly rampant among students, especially in the very high use of social media. This condition causes psychological pressure in the form of anxiety about being left behind from activities that others achieve. This research aims to understand and analyze the experiences of Muslim students who experience FoMO and how it affects students' productivity and academic focus. This study consisted of 7 informants by Muslim students who were in Yogyakarta and were around 19-22 years old. This research is also a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach that utilizes through semi-structured interviews with students who are pursuing their final projects and are active in using social media. The results of the study show that the most widely used platforms by students are WhatsApp and Instagram platforms where each data is 25%, and the duration of social media use in a day of 11-15 hours is 42.9%. Thus, there are several impacts, namely: (1) emotional, (2) academic distraction, (3) social comparison, (4) procrastination), (5) time management and discipline. Therefore, this study shows that FoMO has a great impact on the appearance of concentration disorders, anxiety, and less productive activities with peers. The implication of this research is that there is a need for special assistance related to emotional and digital literacy for students, so that the use of social media can be controlled in a healthy and good way without interfering with the academic process.

Penggemar K-Pop yang menunjukkan ketertarikan secara berlebihan terhadap idola mereka dalam ilmu psikologi dikenal dengan istilah celebrity worship. Celebrity worship merupakan bentuk keterikatan psikologis yang intens dan berlebihan terhadap seorang selebritas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena celebrity worship pada remaja penggemar K-Pop yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara terhadap tiga partisipan remaja perempuan berusia 18 Tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial memegang peran penting dalam membentuk dan memperkuat kedekatan emosional antara penggemar dan idola, memfasilitasi interaksi satu arah, serta menciptakan ruang komunitas penggemar yang turut membentuk identitas diri. Namun, membawa dampak yang negatif, seperti kecanduan media sosial, penurunan motivasi belajar, kemalasan dalam aktivitas sehari-hari, serta penggunaan media sosial secara berlebihan hanya untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai idola. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya edukasi literasi dan batasan yang sehat dalam mengidolakan selebriti, khususnya di kalangan remaja yang sedang berada dalam fase pencarian identitas diri.
