Abstract

This study aims to compare bird communities in coffee plantation habitats with tree shade systems in natural forests or trees planted by coffee farmers. The method used is the bird encounter rate per unit time. The results showed that the quantitative ecological values ​​of birds in two coffee plantation areas were Richness Indices (RI) = 11.18, Diversity Indices (DI) = 3.71, Sorensen Indices (SI) = 45.5% and the Similarity Index of Two Habitats (ISE) = 24.3%. As many as 65% of bird species in both coffee plantations are potential insectivorous birds. In conclusion, three of the 85 bird species encountered during the study had a near-threatened (NT) conservation status, namely Loriculus pusillus, Oriolus xanthonotus, and Ficedula dumetoria. One species is categorized as Endangered (EN) namely Spizaetus bartelsi and the other species is a migratory bird, namely Muscicapa dauurica. Abstract

This study aims to identify the VEGF-A gene polymorphism (rs2010963) in the first generation of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and non-CHD in Bengkulu City. The method used is molecular analysis of polymorphism through Polymerase Chain Reaction Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). This type of research is descriptive observational with a cross-sectional research design. The results of this study indicate that the genotype frequency of the VEGF-A gene polymorphism (rs2010963) in the first generation of patients with CHD is genotype CC = 11 (52.4 %), GG = 7 (33.3%) and CG = 3 (14.3%). ). The distribution of the VEGF-A genotype (rs2010963) in the first non-CHD offspring, namely GG = 9 (42.9%), CC = 7 (33.3%) and GC = 5 (23.8%). The statistical analysis results showed that the p-value obtained was 0.460 for the VEGF-A gene polymorphism genotype (rs2010963) in the first CHD and Non-CHD derived samples. In conclusion, there was no significant difference in the VEGF-A gene polymorphism in the first generation of CHD and non-CHD groups in Bengkulu City. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of giving black cumin extract to changes in the histopathological picture of the liver of white rats induced by isoniazid. The method used is experimental with posttest only control group design pattern. The research subjects used 25 Rattus norvegicus, which were divided into negative control group (P1), positive control (P2) isoniazid orally with a dose of 5.4 - 6.75 mg/day for six weeks, treatment 1 (P3), treatment 2 (P4 ), and treatment 3 (P5) which was given isoniazid at a dose of 5.4 - 6.75 mg/day orally and followed by oral black cumin with stratified amounts of 2000, 2500 and 3000 mg/kgBW. The results showed that there was a significant increase in liver cell damage after administration of isoniazid (p < 0.05) and liver cell recovery after administration of black cumin extract for 42 days (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the administration of black cumin extract can restore isoniazid-induced liver cell damage. Keywords: Liver Histopathology, Isoniazid, Black Cumin

Abstract

This study aims to develop Circulamodo learning media in increasing the active potential of students. The research method used is the ADDIE development method through analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results showed that 1) the average score of Circulamodo's media assessment was 77.4% and had good qualifications; 2) the active potential of students is 76% and is categorized as very good; 3) students' cognitive learning outcomes increased by 39.8%. Abstract

This study aims to determine the mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata) has the potential to remediate Cu contained in the soil. The method used is an experimental method to test the absorption potential of mother-in-law's tongue plant on ground contaminated with Cu metal. The results showed that the samples from days 0, 3, 6, and 9 did not show any changes in the adsorbed metal. The four samples contained the same heavy metal copper (Cu) concentration, which was <0.50 ppm. In conclusion, the mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata) is not very effective as phytoremediation of soil contaminated with Cu metal but can still be used as phytoremediation. Abstract

This study aims to determine the initial content of copper metal found in land kangkung (Ipomoea reptans) plants. The method used is the descriptive quantitative analysis method. The results showed that samples 1, 2, 3, and 4 each had <0.50 mg/kg copper metal found in land kangkung. In conclusion, land kangkung has not been polluted, so it is safe for consumption and can also be used as phytoremediation in an environment contaminated by heavy metals. Abstract

This study aims to examine the knowledge of the community in Tiremenggal Village in utilizing food plants for immunonutrients. The research method used consists of two stages: the first stage of inventorying the level of community knowledge with exploratory survey methods and participatory ethnobotanical assessment through in-depth interviews (deep interviews) and structured (open-ended). The second stage is collecting data on the use of food plants using semi-structured interviews. The results showed that people's knowledge about food plants was obtained from asking other people (26%). The types of food plants identified were as many as 30 species covering staple food and additional food categories. In conclusion, the community's knowledge and ability in Tiremenggal village to utilize, compose and process traditional food plants as a source of immunonutrientts can be seen from the description of the aspects of their activities and activities. Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' learning readiness to understand science in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era. The type of research used is descriptive research with the number of samples selected based on proportional random sampling as many as 123 people. The results showed that the level of readiness of students in the Collaboration aspect skills was 3.63, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving was 3.36, Creativity and Innovation was 3.35 and Communication was 3.33. The level of student learning readiness has a positive effect on science understanding (learning outcomes) of science, with the relative contribution of students' learning readiness to science understanding is 54.7%. In conclusion, the level of students' learning readiness for understanding science in the face of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is included in the ready category. Abstract

This study aimed to obtain a Puring cultivar (Codiaeum variegatum) that can adapt to heavy and robust copper (Cu) stress and test its potential as a phytoremediation plant. The method used was a randomized block design (RAK). The results showed that the number of leaves and plant height did not show a significant difference. The most important copper (Cu) convergence in the formation was found in the Teri cultivar, with a convergence level of 126,399 ppm. In conclusion, puring cultivar can be used as a phytoremediation agent in an environment contaminated with substantial copper (Cu) metal because of its long roots and does not require more expensive costs. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of the leaves of Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pes-caprae) against Staphylococcus epidermidis. The method used was Kirby-Bauer for the antibacterial test with various concentrations of ethanolic extract of I. pes-caprae leaf extract: 5 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, 35 mg/mL, and 50 mg/mL, with five replications. The antibiotic clindamycin was used as a positive control, while DMSO was a negative control. The results showed that after 24 hours of incubation, the zone of inhibition of bacterial growth was demonstrated by the experimental and the positive control groups, while the negative control did not show the zone of inhibition. The diameter of the largest inhibition zone (11.40 mm) was at a 50 mg/mL test concentration, which was indicated as a strong category. In conclusion, the ethanolic extract of the leaves of I. pes-caprae can inhibit the growth of S. epidermidis at all test concentrations.
