Abstract

This study aims to compare student learning outcomes between those using the TGT cooperative learning model and the STAD type. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with Pretest-Posttest One Groups Design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes is a multiple-choice test. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students who were taught using the TGT type cooperative learning model were 86.7, while the intermediate student learning outcomes taught using the STAD type cooperative learning model were 79.71. The results of inferential data analysis show that the significance value obtained is 5.13 > T table 2.003. Abstract

This study aims to examine the bioecological aspects of P. merguiensis around the estuary of the Berombang river in terms of growth patterns, the abundance of gonad maturity and condition factors. The method used in this research is purposive sampling. Shrimp sampling was carried out using arad nets which were stocked at low tide. The results showed that the composition of the abundance of the gonadal maturity level of P. merguiensis shrimp at three sampling stations was dominated by immature gonadal shrimp (BMG) to TKG 2. The growth pattern of P. merguiensis shrimp based on the length-body weight relationship in the Berombang river was classified as positive allometric. Fulton condition factor (K) ranged from 0.14 to 4.68, with an average total body length ranging from 2.35 to 13.70 cm. In conclusion, the condition factor of P. merguiensis shrimp in the Berombang river was classified as a plump category with shrimp weight gain being faster than body length growth, with female plumpness being greater than males. Abstract

This study aims to obtain information related to the biological and ecological aspects of the Oxygaster anomalura in the Mailil River, Bandar Kumbul Village. The method used in this research is exploratory. Sampling was done using a fishing rod. The growth pattern was calculated using the length-weight relationship using the Linear Allometric Model (LAM), while the condition factor used the Fulton formula (K) and relative weight (Wr). The results showed that as many as 30 samples of Sulum Fish (Oxygaster anomalura) were caught during the study. Analysis of the length-weight relationship showed a negative allometric relationship with a value of b=1.94 (b>3). The Fulton condition factor (K) value is 1,195, while the value of the relative condition factor (Wr) is 169.42. In conclusion, the Mailil River as an ecosystem and habitat for O. anomalura fish is balanced. Keywords: Condition Factor, Oxygaster anomalura, Mailil River

Abstract

This study aims to provide information related to the role of phages or bacterial viruses in treating infectious diseases. The method used is a secondary literature study from several research publications. The results showed that phage therapy had been medically proven to be superior to antibiotic treatment. Phage families Myoviridae and Podoviridae are the best candidates for phage therapy because most of them have a lytic cycle. Phages with lytic phage types tend to be widely used as biocontrol agents because they are specific and lyse target cells (pathogenic bacteria). In addition, phages do not have genetic material that can be integrated into the human body, so therapy using phages is not virulent in humans. Treatment using phages also does not cause phage resistance to antibiotics. In conclusion, phages' advantages, effectiveness, and host specificity make phages used in various applications to treat infectious diseases. Keywords: Bacteriophage, Phage, Lytic, Therapy, Virus

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the quality of dug well water and bore well water around the UNIB Kandang Limun campus. The descriptive method was used to analyze 60 samples, consisting of 30 water samples for each dug well and drilled well. The parameters measured were the degree of acidity (pH), total dissolved particles (TDS), salt content, and electrical conductivity (DHL). This study found that only 35% of the samples met the class I water quality standards. The samples consisted of 7 dug well samples and 14 drilled well samples. Most of the samples (53%) had an acidic pH below 6.5, while the other 12% did not meet the quality standards from TDS, DHL, or both. The pH value of dug well water was significantly lower (more acidic) than drilled well water (p < 0.0001, F1.58=27.28), but the TDS and DHL values in drilled well water were significantly higher (p < 0.01, F1.58=9.09 for TDS; p < 0.001, F1.58=15.89 for DHL). In conclusion, the water quality of drilled wells in the Kandang Limun Campus area is better than that of dug wells. Keywords: Lemonade Cage, Water Quality, Drilling Well, Excavation Well

Abstract

This study aims to isolate and characterize bacteria that live in hot springs on Bangka Island. The research methods used include bacterial isolation; morphological characterization, Gram group determination and biochemical tests; identification; and thermophilic bacteria temperature resistance test. Hot water samples were obtained from 2 locations, namely Pemali Village and Permis Village. The hot water temperature range at both locations is between 38ºC to 52ºC. The results showed that 22 pure isolates were consisting of 9 isolates from Permis Village and 13 isolates from Pemali Village. In conclusion, the characterization results showed that all bacterial isolates were gram-negative bacteria with various biochemical characteristics.
