Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has transformed the way people access, manage, and disseminate information. This study aims to analyze the ethics of information literacy among Muslim communities from the perspective of the axiology of the philosophy of science. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through open-ended questionnaires distributed to six respondents from diverse professional backgrounds, including civil servants, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis and content analysis, and validity was ensured through theoretical triangulation by comparing respondents’ answers with concepts from the philosophy of science, information ethics, and Islamic thought. The findings indicate that the axiology of the philosophy of science emphasizes the value and beneficial use of knowledge as essential aspects of information utilization. Information literacy is not merely concerned with technical skills in accessing and evaluating information but also with ethical awareness in using information responsibly. From an Islamic perspective, the ethics of information literacy are reflected in the practice of verifying information sources, maintaining honesty in conveying information, respecting the rights and privacy of others, and utilizing information for the common good. Therefore, strengthening information literacy ethics based on Islamic values and the axiology of the philosophy of science is a strategic necessity for fostering a critical, wise, and responsible Muslim society in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the faith-practice gap in Islamic time ethics by explaining why values such as punctuality, commitment, amanah, and accountability, although strongly emphasized in Islamic teaching, are not always translated into consistent time-discipline behavior. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the study analyzes survey data from 356 professionals in Muslim and Western organizational contexts and deepens the interpretation through semi-structured interviews. The quantitative phase uses PLS-SEM to test the effects of Islamic Temporal Ethics on moral internalization, institutionalization, and time-discipline behavior, while the qualitative phase explores how respondents interpret religious language, organizational rules, and multicultural time norms. The findings show that Islamic Temporal Ethics strengthens both moral internalization and institutionalization, yet its effect on time-discipline behavior operates mainly through these two mechanisms. Institutionalization appears more decisive than internalization because rules, sanctions, routines, and accountability systems stabilize ethical behavior beyond personal intention. Multicultural context moderates the process: monochronic and institutionally tight environments are more effective in transforming ethical values into visible practice. The article proposes Islamic Temporal Ethics Decoupling as a sociological concept for understanding the gap between religious ideals and everyday conduct.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the social dynamics behind the emergence of the issue of Christianization and how to form the counter of Muhammadiyah through the construction of da'wah bil-things in the face of Christianization to maintain religious identity and social harmony. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with the theory of social construction of Fathers L. Berger and Thomas Luckman, this study examines how the pattern of Christianization that develops in Bluluk, Lamongan and how Muhammadiyah responds to the dynamics of Christianization through da'wah of socially constructed things in the community. The results of this study show that the construction of dawkah bil-hal Muhammadiyah is formed through three general patterns: (1) the pattern of externalization is reflected in da'wah activities which are realized through various social actions, education, and community services that represent Islamic values in real life. (2) the pattern of objectivity is reflected in various social activities institutionalized in charity, such as the establishment of ABA Kindergarten, Al-Azhar Mosque, and TPA. (3) the pattern of internalization that occurs when Islamic values that have been institutionalized through Muhammadiyah's charity business are then instilled and lived by Muhammadiyah citizens. The three patterns interact to form an adaptive and moderate model of da'wah construction in Muhammadiyah as a response to the dynamics of Christianization in a pluralistic society. This research confirms that da'wah bil-hal is a constructive strategy of Muhammadiyah in building social harmony and strengthening the resilience of religious identity in plural areas such as Bluluk, Lamongan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the global issue of increasing child vulnerability caused by poverty, family disintegration, and social instability, which have led to a growing need for alternative care through social service institutions. This condition requires social services that not only fulfill children's physical needs but also foster the development of their social identity as part of their integration into society. The findings indicate that the social identity of foster children is not formed naturally; rather, it is shaped through work programs implemented at the Harapan Bangsa Child Social Care Center (UPTD PSAA), which include social interaction, social guidance, personal development, and gradual social experiences. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed deductively using Henri Tajfel's Social Identity Theory, which consists of three dimensions: social categorization, social identification, and social comparison. The results show that the social identity of foster children is not formed naturally but is developed through work programs that serve as agents of social identity formation. These programs include social interaction, social guidance, personal development, and gradual social experiences implemented at the Harapan Bangsa Child Social Care Center (UPTD PSAA).
