Abstract

This research aims to analyze digital marketing strategy management through social media in increasing the visibility and attractiveness of Islamic boarding schools. The focus of this research is to explore how Islamic boarding schools can utilize social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, to introduce themselves and attract the attention of prospective students. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with Islamic boarding school managers, students, and students' parents, as well as observations of social media content published by Islamic boarding schools. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and direct observation of Islamic boarding school social media accounts. The collected data was then analyzed using thematic analysis and content analysis techniques to identify the main themes and patterns in the use of social media. The research results show that the use of attractive visual and video content, together with testimonials and reviews from alumni and parents of students, plays a significant role in increasing the visibility of Islamic boarding schools and building a positive image in the eyes of the audience. In addition, an integrated digital marketing strategy via social media has proven effective in increasing the attractiveness of Islamic boarding schools, building trust, and expanding the reach of the Islamic boarding school education market. This research suggests that Islamic boarding schools need to optimize the use of social media as a strategic and adaptive marketing tool for technological developments.

Abstract

The decline in applicant interest and weak public trust in vocational schools pose serious challenges to vocational education in Indonesia. This study examines the brand image development strategies at SMK Syubbanul Wathon Secang, a pesantren-based vocational school in Magelang Regency, as well as the challenges faced in enhancing the school's competitiveness. The research subjects consisted of five informants, including the principal, vice principals for curriculum and student affairs, and several teachers directly involved in school branding activities. The object of the study was the school’s branding strategies implemented in digital, academic, and religious aspects. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were analyzed thematically using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model and validated through source triangulation and member checking. The results indicate that the main strategies include improving the quality of vocational programs, utilizing social media, organizing student work exhibitions, engaging alumni and school ambassadors, and strengthening religious values as the school’s distinctive identity. These strategies align with Keller’s brand image theory, emphasizing the importance of strong, favorable, and unique brand associations. The challenges faced include limited digital human resources, minimal promotional budgets, inter-school competition, and low public awareness of the importance of school image. The study’s implications contribute theoretically to Islamic education management literature and offer practical recommendations for developing branding strategies in other pesantren-based vocational schools.

Abstract

Sensory knowledge is one of the foundational elements in classical Islamic epistemology, receiving significant attention from prominent Muslim philosophers such as Al-Kindi and Al-Razi. This article aims to examine the characteristics of sensory knowledge according to these two thinkers through a qualitative-descriptive approach and historical-philosophical analysis. The findings reveal that Al-Kindi views sensory knowledge as an initial stage in the intellectual process toward higher (rational) knowledge (ta‘aqqul), yet he acknowledges its limitations due to its temporary and material-bound nature. In contrast, Al-Razi considers sensory knowledge a primary foundation for acquiring empirical truth, particularly in the context of science and medicine, emphasizing observation and experimentation. These differing perspectives reflect the dynamic development of epistemological thought within the Islamic philosophical tradition, highlighting Al-Kindi’s rationalistic orientation and Al-Razi’s empiricist approach to understanding reality. This study contributes to the development of Islamic epistemology by shedding light on the role and limitations of the senses in the pursuit of knowledge

Abstract

Education is a major pillar in the development of society and individuals, especially in the era of complex globalization. This study examines educational management from Al-Ghazali's perspective, which emphasizes the importance of integrating moral and spiritual values in education. Al-Ghazali argued that the purpose of education is not only to develop intellectually, but also to form good character and bring individuals closer to God. Through a qualitative approach and literature study, this study identified Al-Ghazali's concept of educational management, including the purpose of education, the role of educators, learning methods, educational environment, and evaluation. The results of the study indicate that holistic education must include teaching moral values, spiritual awareness, and character development. In addition, a positive educational environment and community support are essential to support the learning process. The implications of Al-Ghazali's thoughts in modern educational management include the need for integration of moral values in the curriculum, training for educators as moral role models, and holistic evaluation. By adopting this approach, it is hoped that education can produce individuals who are not only academically intelligent, but also have good morals and deep spiritual awareness, ready to face life's challenges wisely. This research provides new insights for the development of an educational curriculum that is more oriented towards character and spirituality.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia play a strategic role in shaping students’ character education amid the challenges of modernization and globalization. Employing a library research approach, this study critically analyzes primary and secondary literature from reputable journals to understand the development of moral values and character within Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren. The findings reveal that pesantren implement a holistic and integrated character education system based on exemplary behavior, habitual practices, and spiritual reinforcement. Pesantren have also demonstrated adaptability in responding to the demands of modern society without losing their traditional core values. The pesantren model, with its affective and transformative approach to character building, is deemed highly relevant for adoption in formal educational institutions as an alternative to current character education practices. These findings reinforce the argument that pesantren are not only historically relevant but also contextually and futuristically positioned to address contemporary moral and educational challenges. The study's main contribution is proposing a pesantren-based character education model as a pedagogical framework suitable for integration into the national education system.

Abstract

The study is intended to analyze the extent to which work discipline, school culture, and principal leadership impact teacher performance in Madrasah Aliyah in the Mataram City area. This study applied a quantitative approach with ex-post facto methods and surveys. This research used a survey strategy, using questionnaires as a data collection tool. The research population consisted of all teachers in three states and Aliyah Madrasah in Mataram City, totaling 169 people. The research sample was selected through probability sampling techniques, so that 114 teachers from the three MAs were selected. For the data collection process, the questionnaires had been validated both expertly and through empirical tests to support the accuracy of the research. Testing of the validity and reliability of the instrument was carried out with the help of SPSS Version 26 software.  The test results show that, partially, work discipline has a positive and significant impact on teacher performance with a regression coefficient of 0.459. School culture shows a negative influence on teacher performance with a regression coefficient of -0.176. Meanwhile, the leadership of the principal also has a significant positive effect on teacher performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.498. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant impact on teacher performance, with an F value of 98.026, which is greater than the F value in the table of 2.68. These findings confirm that the improvement of teacher performance is greatly impacted by the level of work discipline, the quality of the principal's leadership, and the supportive school culture conditions.
