Abstract

This comprehensive examination meticulously navigates the intricate landscape of ethical considerations in clinical and counseling psychology research, employing a rigorous methodology that draws upon historical precedents, including notorious ethical lapses exemplified by the Tuskegee syphilis study, the Stanford prison experiment, and the Milgram obedience study. These historical cases serve as cautionary tales, vividly illustrating the dire consequences of neglecting ethical principles. Furthermore, the examination relies on contemporary ethical guidelines promulgated by reputable organizations such as the American Psychological Association (APA), the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which not only underscore the importance of fundamental principles like informed consent, confidentiality, and respect for autonomy but also provide a methodical framework for shaping ethical research practices. Within this exploration, particular attention is given to the role of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) as vigilant gatekeepers of ethical integrity. Their meticulous oversight ensures the transparent implementation of informed consent processes and the careful mitigation of potential harm to research participants. This approach prioritizes the safeguarding of human rights and dignity, especially in situations where ethical guidelines intersect with intricate legal and regulatory frameworks. As the field of clinical and counseling psychology continues to evolve, this examination places methodological rigor at the forefront of ethical research endeavors, thereby not only enhancing the field's credibility but also significantly contributing to the well-being of individuals and society at large.

Abstract

Abortion is a condition where the fetus dies due to premature expulsion. Meanwhile, spontaneous abortion or miscarriage can occur without certain actions to trigger the expulsion of the fetus. Spontaneous abortions occur naturally, even when people maintain and want the fetus to grow. This results in physical disorders that have psychological impacts such as anxiety, easily giving up hope and an unsettled spirit. So it is very normal that everyone needs recovery after a spontaneous abortion. The role of a spiritual guide is very important in dealing with mental and spiritual recovery due to fetal loss. For this reason, pastoral counseling services guide the perspective of the Christian faith to find the true truth that will restore the soul. This article aims to provide understanding for Christians so that they can maintain a firm foundation of faith in facing every challenge in life such as spontaneous abortion. This research uses a qualitative approach by collecting data from various library sources, journals and the Bible as a source of truth and the basis of Christian faith.

Abstract

Foreign language education, especially Mandarin, currently requires the involvement of technology both directly and indirectly, this is due to the rapid development of technology. In line with this, Daryanto (2016) put forward the environmental concept including learning places, media methods, assessment systems, as well as the facilities and infrastructure needed to package learning and organize study guidance so as to facilitate student learning. Therefore, innovative and creative media is needed that can add direct experience to students - and be a supporter in evaluation activities so that teachers can find the best way so that students are not left behind, especially in technological developments in learning activities, students can make more use of their devices. Good. One way is to design learning activities, both in the learning process and the evaluation process, using devices owned by students. In this era of rapid development of science and technology, professional teachers are not enough just to have the ability to teach students, but also have to manage information and the environment to facilitate student learning activities. One online media that can be used is Kahoot. Kahoot media is a web tool for creating interesting quizzes, discussions and surveys. Kahoot is also an online application that can be used to create interactive and fun online quiz-based learning evaluation media. The research method used by the author in this research is a qualitative descriptive method, namely by field observation and using interviews and documentation as part of the research collection technique. With the research location at Golden Gate senior high school. Abstract

Background: Nigeria's music industry attracts young minds, particularly Afrobeat, a popular West African music genre. Nigeria is a hub for Afrobeat with lyrics and videos which significantly influence adolescents' behaviour, emotions, and world perception. Aim: This study aimed to assess and to explore the relationship between Afrobeat music and drug abuse in Nigeria. Setting: A total of 200 music undergraduates’ students and 4 music experts from 6 different universities (University of Jos (North Central); University of Maiduguri, Borno State (North-East); Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna (Northwest); University of Nigeria, Nsukka (South East); University of Benin (South South); and University of Lagos (South West). Methods: The study adopted a mixed method approach, coupling quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The population included 200 music students and five music and lyrics analysts from various universities. The research instrument used was a structured questionnaire, while qualitative data was collected through observation and interview guides. Pilot testing was conducted to ensure the instruments were relevant, unbiased, and appropriate for the study context and participants. Quantitative and thematic analysis was conducted. Results: Results indicate that Afrobeat music in Nigeria may promote drug abuse, with 77% of lyrics, videos, and lifestyles featuring drug-related content. This can influence youth attitudes and behaviors towards drugs. The mediating influence of ethnic identity and substance use among young adults is also examined, with the glamorization of drug use potentially promoting or discouraging substance abuse. Conclusion: Despite the efforts of previous researchers, this study observes a gap in the area of guidelines for airing offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate content, including explicit lyrics, violence promotion, or harmful societal content (such as glamourizing and normalizing drug use and abuse).
