Abstract

Stunting is a major public health issue in Indonesia, affecting children's cognitive development, educational achievements, and future productivity. This study aims to analyze the relationship between competence, work motivation, and performance of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) in Murung Raya Regency. Using a quantitative method and explanatory research approach, data were collected via a survey of 63 respondents from various roles within the TPPS. The Partial Least Square (PLS) method was used for model testing. The results reveal that competence does not directly influence TPPS performance but significantly impacts work motivation. Work motivation, in turn, directly affects TPPS performance significantly. Furthermore, work motivation serves as a moderating variable that strengthens the relationship between competence and performance. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing work motivation as a strategic measure to maximize the impact of competence on performance. Thus, the study recommends motivation-based training to improve TPPS performance in sustainable stunting reduction efforts. This finding emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in managing human resources, where increasing competence must be accompanied by efforts to foster work motivation to achieve optimal performance

Abstract

International labor migration plays a crucial role in shaping socio-economic development in emerging economies, particularly through remittances that enhance household welfare and social resilience. This study explores how remittance utilization and human resource development (HRD) interact to influence community resilience in the Indonesia–Malaysia border area of Aruk, Sambas District. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, the study analyzes the economic and social dynamics of migration among border communities. The findings reveal that migration is primarily driven by limited employment opportunities, wage disparities, and inadequate vocational training. While remittances significantly improve family income and education, their long-term contribution depends on productive investment and skills development. The study highlights the need for inclusive HRD strategies that align education and training programs with labor market demands to strengthen local competitiveness. Integrating digital literacy and entrepreneurship training is essential to reduce dependency on cross-border labor migration and promote sustainable livelihoods. These findings provide a framework for policymakers to design targeted interventions for human capital strengthening in border regions.

Abstract

This research is based on the phenomenon of low interest in continuing education to higher education among young people in Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung. This primary research problem seeks to answer the question of what dominant factors influence the decision to continue studying and what intervention strategies are most effective in encouraging this interest. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviest The results indicate that internal motivations, such as a strong desire to change one’s socioeconomic status, are dominant as driving factors. This motivation in reinforced by external factor, namely family financial support and the availability of scholarships, which have proven effective. However, this study also identified significant challenges that hinder this interest. These challenges include limited information from parents (often due to their own low level of education) and the pragmatic views of local communities that tend to judge success only from tangible and immediate results, rather than from the long-term educational process. The limitations of this research lie in its local and qualitative nature. These findings focus solely on the internal dynamics of Pagerwojo District and may not be broadly generalizable to other areas in Tulungagung or ther regions with different socio-econimic characteristics.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills that needs to be developed in the economics learning process at the high school level. However, in reality, this ability has not been optimally developed among students at Palangka Raya Christian High School. This condition is evident in students' poor communication skills during learning activities, such as a lack of active participation, low courage in expressing opinions, and a weak ability to respond logically to others' ideas. This situation indicates that students are not yet fully able to process, evaluate, and express information critically, which are actually the main indicators of critical thinking. This study aims to comprehensively analyze students' communication skills in economics learning activities and identify the role of teachers in building a communicative and adaptive learning environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where the primary data is obtained through in-depth interviews and participatory observations of teachers and grade XI-A students in economics subjects at Palangka Raya Christian High School, while secondary data is collected from literature studies and previous research; the data analysis process is carried out through the stages of systematic collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that although teachers have provided an interactive forum through group discussions, questions and answers, and presentations supported by digital media, there is still a disparity in communication courage among students which is influenced by psychological factors, individual abilities, and limited time and learning instruments.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) require effective marketing strategies to expand their market share, one of which is through the utilization of social media. This study was motivated by the phenomenon of increasing social media promotions and online customer reviews on the Durian Traveler Store’s accounts, which are presumed to influence brand awareness and purchase decisions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of social media promotion and online customer reviews on purchase decisions, with brand awareness as an intervening variable. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents using purposive sampling techniques, with criteria of consumers who have purchased the product more than once. Data analysis includes validity, reliability, classical assumption, multiple linear regression, and Sobel tests. The results show that social media promotion and online customer reviews have a positive and significant effect on brand awareness, while brand awareness significantly affects purchase decisions. Brand awareness is also proven to mediate the relationship between social media promotion and online customer reviews on purchase decisions. This study is limited to a single MSME object; therefore, future research is suggested to expand the sample to other business sectors to strengthen the generalization of the findings.

Abstract

As a result of the increased level of competition among business actors brought about by the rapid development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, the research's central issue is that these businesses must be able to increase their level of digitalization in order to sustain and grow. A business's level of income is a gauge of its progress.  The Buleleng District's micro, small, and medium-sized businesses served as the sites of this study. 99 business actors were selected using a purposive sampling strategy and the Slovin formula.  A survey was used to collect data. Finding out how capital, digital payments, and financial literacy impact the revenue of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in Buleleng District is the goal of this study.  The methodology used in this study is quantitative. These results show that improving the revenue of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in Buleleng District is positively and significantly impacted by capital, digital payments, and financial literacy. The amount of revenue a business generates increases with the amount of capital used by its actors. Business actors can earn more money if they have a better level of literacy.  Additionally, the potential revenue from these commercial operations increases with the level of adoption of digital payments in transactions.

Abstract

Education serves as a primary means to develop competent and competitive human resources. Student academic achievement is a key indicator of educational success, influenced by internal factors such as motivation, interest, and cognitive ability, as well as external factors including the school environment, family support, and teaching strategies. This study aims to examine the relationship between students’ communication skills and academic performance in Economics for class X-A at SMA Kristen Palangka Raya. The research employed observation, interviews, and documentation to evaluate student participation, social interaction, and both verbal and nonverbal communication skills. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in fostering educational interaction through questioning, discussions, and presentations. Student participation increased over time, particularly in group discussions, which encouraged collaboration, empathy, and understanding of economic concepts. Academic achievement showed a positive trend, influenced by communication skills, confidence in speaking, and active engagement in learning. These results highlight the importance of developing communication skills as a strategy to enhance learning quality and academic outcomes. The study is expected to provide valuable insights for teachers, students, and schools in designing more interactive, communicative, and participatory learning methods.
