Abstract

Students expressed difficulty in dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary and complex sentence structures, which hindered their ability to identify important information and understand the message conveyed in the text. This research aims to develop a teaching tool called Reading for Professional Context that is appropriate to the cultural environment to improve the reading skills of students majoring in English education. This type of research is developed with a research design using the Graves model. The research subjects were two subject matter experts, two teaching materials experts, and two language experts. The trial subjects involved 22 students. Data collection methods use observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data collection instruments with questionnaire sheets. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative analysis. The linear regression test is used to see the effect of teaching materials on reading skills. The results, namely the expert assessment, show that the product has excellent qualifications. The results of the linear regression test show that the use of "Reading for Professional Context" teaching materials significantly positively influences students' reading skills. It was concluded that the "Reading for Professional Context" teaching materials could improve students' reading skills. The findings from this research provide valuable insights for English language educators and curriculum developers in designing effective reading teaching materials to improve students' abilities in professional contexts.

Abstract

History teachers in senior high schools need variations in the use of learning media in the classroom. This research aims to design history learning media based on documentary films of Japanese occupation and analyze the feasibility of the product. The methodology used was research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The subjects involved in the research consisted of the head of curriculum, history teachers, and students. The data collection methods used were observation, interview, and assessment questionnaires. Then, the data analysis used was qualitative and quantitative. The validation results include material expert validation getting a good category and media expert validation getting a good category. While the teacher's assessment got a good category, the assessment of students in the small group trial got a good category, and the large group trial got a good category. This finding shows that the history learning media based on the documentary film of the Japanese Occupation is feasible to use in learning history. Therefore, this media is the main alternative in providing variations in the use of learning media in the classroom.

Abstract

Secara umum modifikasi model CSE-UCLA dan Discrepancy tampak cocok digunakan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran synchronous di perguruan tinggi, namun tidak serta merta dapat dikategorikan berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat persentase kualitas desain model modifikasi CSE-UCLA dan Discrepancy. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pengembangan yang mengacu model pengembangan Borg & Gall. Berdasarkan tujuan penelitian, maka fokus penelitian adalah hanya pada tahapan pengembangan desain, uji coba awal dan revisi hasil uji coba awal. Subjek yang dilibatkan dalam tahap uji coba awal terhadap desain dari modifikasi model CSE-UCLA dengan model Discrepancy ini sebanyak satu pakar evaluasi pendidikan, satu pakar pendidikan teknik informatika, 10 dosen dan 20 mahasiswa. Alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa kuesioner.Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan persentase tingkat kualitas desain dari modifikasi model CSE-UCLA dengan model Discrepancy dengan standar kualitas design model yang mengacu skala lima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat persentase kualitas desain model modifikasi CSE-UCLA dan Discrepancy sebesar 80.50% sehingga tergolong kualitas baik. Simpulan penelitian yaitu kualitas desain modifikasi model CSE-UCLA dengan model Discrepancy tergolong Baik. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu adanya model evaluasi yang dapat dipadukan sehingga menghasilkan model evaluasi baru yang berkualitas dan bermanfaat secara optimal.

Abstract

The implementation of the independent Curriculum in the field of education through the utilization of technology models oriented towards Society 5.0 era, such as Internet of Things (IoT) or Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, and artificial robots that will fulfill human needs to address other requirements. This research analyze three perspectives: students, teachers, and institutions related to implementation of the independent Curriculum oriented towards Society 5.0 era. This study uses a mixed method research approach. The data collection technique in this study used random sampling techniques. Data analysis is inductive or qualitative, and the results of this study emphasize meaning rather than generalization. From the student's perspective, there is a significant difference indicating a significant difference between the previous curriculum-13 and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in terms of students' development at school. From the teacher's perspective, indicates a significant difference, meaning that access to relevant educational resources and participation in professional activities are evident. From the institution's perspective, 97.9% of schools and teachers have accessed the digital platform of the independent Curriculum, with only 2.02% remaining to implement it. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum allows schools, teachers, and students the freedom to organize and develop their own curriculum while encouraging the use of technology in learning.

Abstract

The 21st century requires students to adapt and utilize the growing sophistication of technology. The expected 21st century learning is 4C skills to face global challenges. Students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills in physics learning are still low. The solution to the problem is that students need more interactive teaching media in order to increase interest in learning, digital teaching materials with Augmented Reality integrated CTL models are the solution to the problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the needs analysis, validity and practicality of using digital teaching materials with AR integrated with CTL models to improve students' critical and creative thinking skills. This type of research is Research and Development with the Hannafin and Peck development model. Data collection instruments include needs analysis instruments, validation questionnaire sheets and practicality questionnaire sheets. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative statistics. Based on the data analyzed, there are three research results. First, the results of needs analysis research which stated that students' critical and creative thinking was still low. Second, the results of product validation with the valid category. Third, the results of product practicality with a very practical category. It is concluded that electronic teaching materials for heat assisted by Augmented Reality and CTL models can be used in learning. Research implications, with electronic teaching materials assisted by AR CTL model, teachers are expected to be able to motivate, guide and direct students in building 4C skills.

Abstract

Generalization is an important component of mathematical activity and has received increasing attention in school mathematics at all levels. This research aims to analyze junior high school students' mathematical generalization abilities in number pattern material. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were 28 junior high school students in the even semester. The students consisted of 12 male students and 16 female students. The data collection method used is the test method. Data analysis in this research was carried out through the stages of reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions on the data obtained. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the mathematical generalization ability of junior high school students in number patterns was obtained: (1) 8 students (28%) had high mathematical generalization ability, (2) 15 students (54%) had medium ability, and (3) 5 students ( 18%) have low ability. These findings show that the majority of students have good mathematical generalization abilities, but there are also those who still need further assistance in improving their abilities.

Abstract

In this digital era there are still many schools that have not used IT-based learning media, especially in the content of mathematics lessons on multiplication material. Even though mathematics is one of the subjects that must be achieved in elementary school education. Many students think mathematics is very difficult and complicated. This is because there are many ways to solve problems in everyday life that use calculations. This study aims to analyze the need for valid and practical media development and to analyze the effectiveness of media results for improving students' cognitive abilities. The type of research used in this research is Research and Development. The development of the multiplication e-module uses the Borg and Gall development model design. The data obtained from the media development needs questionnaire. Data analysis uses the Guttman scale. The results of the study showed that the multiplication e-module media is needed to improve the cognitive abilities of second grade elementary school students. The results of the media validity test obtained results that were very feasible to use. While the results of the practicality test of teachers and students obtained very practical results. While the results of the effectiveness test showed that the increase in cognitive abilities in the experimental class was higher than the control class.

Abstract

Knowledge of waste classification and segregation is very important considering that currently Indonesia is one of the largest plastic waste contributor countries in the world. Games that can be modified for educational purposes are educational games, especially in waste sorting. This study aims to develop an android-based waste sorting educational game (with the types of waste that appear in the school environment), as well as how to sort this android-based waste. Educational games are very appropriate as educational or learning media. Researchers use a research and development design or Research and Development Design (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model. In this initial study, it was carried out up to the small-scale user trial stage. The collection of teacher response data as a media user is carried out using an application usability instrument, namely the System Usability Scale (SUS). The research was conducted in 4 elementary schools. The educational game Sorting Trash was developed using Construct 3, Canva and Pixlr. This game is operated with an Android-based smart phone so that it is easily accessible to the wider community. The results of the validity test by media experts and material experts show that the results of the Android-based Sort Waste educational game are very valid, so they are very suitable for use as educational media for elementary school students.

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Namun pada kenyataannya masih sedikit guru yang dapat memaksimalkan pemanfaatan bahan ajar yang ada. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan modul digital berbasis milkshake sebagai bahan ajar pembelajaran seni tari di Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Research and Development. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini melibatkan guru dan 27 peserta didik di kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Modul digital berbasis milkshake dikembangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dan peserta ddik yang diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara dan angket. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji n-g. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tingkat presentase kelayakan modul digital berbasis milkshake dari ahli materi mendapatkan nilai sebesar 87,5% dengan kriteria sangat layak, sedangkan penilaian modul digital berbasis milkshake dari ahli media mendapatkan nilai sebesar 94,2% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa modul digital berbasis milkshake sangat layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar pada proses pembelajaran seni tari di Sekolah Dasar. Modul digital berbasis milkshake dapat membantu peserta didik dalam memahami materi seni tari dan meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran seni tari.

Abstract

This lack of teacher competence can impact teacher performance. The possible factors can affect teacher performance, namely, the leadership behaviors of the school principal and the intensity of the implementation of academic supervision. This study aims to analyze the relationship between principal leadership behaviors and the intensity of the implementation of academic supervision with teacher performance. This study uses a quantitative with a correlational design—data collection techniques using a questionnaire (questionnaire), observation, and documentation. Data analysis used a data validity test, reliability test, data normality test, data linear test, significance test, and hypothesis test by calculating the correlation coefficient. The results show (1) the principal's leadership behaviors has a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance, namely 50.2%, (2) the intensity of the implementation of academic supervision has a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance, namely 22.2%, (3) the principal's leadership behaviors and the intensity of the implementation of academic supervision has a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance, namely 71.07%.
