Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is an effectiveness of applying RME learning model on the mathematical communication skills at the eighth grade students of SMP Swasta Advent Barus. The research used an experimental method by applying one group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study is taken by using total sampling technique, the eleventh grade students of SMP Swasta Advent Barus which includes 35 students. Observation and tests are used in collecting the data. Observation sheets show the applying of RME learning model has an average of 2.93 (good category) while students' mathematical communication skills before applying RME learning model has an average of 64.70 (enough category) and after applying RME learning has an average of 72.13 (good category). Furthermore, based on the calculation of the t-test (SPSS of version 2017) it shows the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.005, classical completeness is 51.43% and the N-Gain value shows 0.27 (low category). It means, there is any effectiveness of appying RME learning model on students' mathematical communication skills in the low category at the eighth grade students of Barus Adventist Private Junior High School.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of QR-Code-based digital teaching materials at the South Tapanuli Education Institute. The type of research used is development research using a 4-D development model. the stages of this research are (1) define or define; (2) design or design; (3) develop or development; (4) dissiminate or spread. The trial was conducted on fourth semester students of IPTS mathematics education. The results of this study indicate: 1) the validity of the QR-Code digital-based teaching materials at the South Tapanuli Education Institute is valid. 2) the practicality of QR-Code-based digital teaching materials at the South Tapanuli Education Institute is practical to use. 3) the effectiveness of QR-Code-based digital teaching materials at the South Tapanuli Education Institute is effectively used. Abstract

Abstract This development research aims to 1) determine the validity of developing an Android-based trigonometry E-Module, 2) Knowing the practicality of using an Android-based trigonometry E-Module in learning activities, and 3) Knowing the effectiveness of an Android-based trigonometry E-Module to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research with a 4D (four D) development model, where this research consists of 4 stages, namely, 1) Defining Phase, 2) Design Phase, 3) Development Phase (Development). ), and 4) the Dissemination Stage. Data collection techniques in this study were questionnaires, tests and documentation. The instruments used include 1) a questionnaire sheet in the form of a validation questionnaire by an expert to see the validity of the product and a student response questionnaire to see the practicality of the product, and 2) a test sheet to see the effectiveness of the product being developed. Validation was carried out by media experts and material experts, then product trials were carried out by looking at the responses to product use and student test results based on students' mathematical reasoning abilities, which were tested on 29 students in class XI MIA 1 SMA N 1 Angkola Timur. Based on the results of this study, the product validity was obtained with an average percentage of 91.05% in the "Very Valid" category, product practicality with an average percentage of 83.53% in the "Practical" category, and product effectiveness with an average percentage of 84, 29% in the “Effective” category. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Reciprocal Teaching model on the mathematical critical thinking skills of MTs students. Al-Abraar. This type of research is experimental research, with the entire population of class VIII MTs students. Al-Abraar as many as 102 students. The sample of this research is class VIII C, totaling 28 students using simple random sampling technique. Data collection uses observations and tests that have been previously validated. The results showed an overview of the reciprocal teaching learning model with an average value of 3.30 with a "good" category describing students' mathematical critical thinking skills before using the reciprocal teaching learning model, the average value was 52.36 with the "less" category. Meanwhile, for students' mathematical critical thinking skills after using the reciprocal teaching learning model, an average value of 83.33 was obtained with the "very good" category, in other words there was an increase in the use of the reciprocal teaching learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. And based on the significant T-test 0.000 < 0,05, it means that the alternative hypothesis formulated in this study is acceted or approved. This means that the reciprocal teaching learning model is effective in improving students' mathematical critical thinking skills in MTs. Al-Abraar. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kreativitas peserta didik kelas XI TPMIB dalam pemecahan masalah kontekstua materi persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat melalui penerapan Problem Based Learning berbasis LKPD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri beberapa tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi,dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, tes dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif komparatif yang berupa presentase antara pra siklus dan setelah siklus untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan kreativitas peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil belajar pada siklus I dapat diketahui nilai rata-ratanya meningkat yang semula dari pra siklus sebesar 57,78 dengan ketuntasan 28% menjadi 59,58 dengan ketuntasan 31% pada siklus I, sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 66,80 dengan ketuntasan 53% dan meningkat pada siklus III menjadi 71,67 dengan ketuntasan 72%. Kreativitas peserta didik juga meningkat dari siklus satu ke siklus berikutnya. Hasil ini diperkuat dengan hasil pekerjaan dan berbagai cara yang digunakan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran “Problem Based Learning Berbasis LKPD ” dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan kreativitas peserta didik.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa untuk menyelesaikan soal materi persamaan kuadrat berdasarkan serta menganalisis aktivitas pembelajaran matematika siswa SMK negeri 1 Perbaungan dengan model Problem Based Learning. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XTKJ-3 SMK Negeri 1 Perbaungan. Objek pada penelitian ini ialah tentang analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah serta aktivitas pembelajaranr matematika dengan model Problem Based Learning di SMK Negeri 1 Perbaungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tes pada materi Persamaan Kuadrat sebanyak 3 soal essay dan lembar observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu kemampuan siswa dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian serta mengecek kembali seluruh langkah tergolong kurang baik dengan persentase 48%. Disebabkan (1) siswa kurang teliti dalam menuliskan pertanda negatif pada penyelesaiannya (2) siswa kurang teliti dalam menggunakan rumus serta mengaplikasikan ke soal yang lain. aktivitas belajar siswa terlibat aktif pada memecahkan masalah yang di berikan oleh guru, peserta didik berperan aktif dalam mengemukakan pendapat penyelesaian atau merencanakan suatu permasalahan yang ada.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan metode resitasi dan diskusi kelompok pada pembelajaran kimia dasar. Metode Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti yang merupakan dosen pengajar pada program studi pendidikan matematika Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan, menemukan permasalahan bahwa pada mata kuliah kimia dasar yang ditempuh mahasiswa semester I ternyata masih banyak mahasiswa yang merasa sulit dalam memahami mata kuliah kimia dasar. Pembelajaran mata kuliah kimia dasar menggunakan metode resitasi dan diskusi kelompok yaitu dengan menerapkan pemberian tugas mandiri dan kelompok baik didalam kelas maupun luar kelas. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode resitasi dan diskusi kelompok mampu memberikan dampak positif terhadap partisipasi, mampu meningkatkan keaktifan dan tanggung jawab serta hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah kimia dasar.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the level of mathematical representation ability of SMK students in statistics material. Through this research will be analyzed the level of students' mathematical representation abilities which are grouped into high, medium and low, as well as students' mistakes in solving problems on statistics material which focuses on the mean, median and mode. The research subjects were 3 class XII students, all of whom consisted of female students. Research includes qualitative research. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The results showed that the representational abilities of SMK students were moderate at 62%. Student errors included (1) students were not careful in completing calculations properly (2) students chose sentences in solving illogical questions and preferred to use equations. (3) Student answers written by students are not clearly visible..

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a breakthrough in the concept of mathematics in which there is a culture associated with mathematics. The presence of mathematics that blends cultures will make a very large contribution or contribution to learning mathematics. The purpose of this study is to identify and describe or describe a mathematical object contained in a traditional game of marbles and what are the benefits of learning mathematics. This research is research qualitative using ethnographic methods. The instruments used by researchers in this study were interviews, documentation, and literature studies directly with the informants. The data analysis techniques used by researchers are data reduction, data presentation, data analysis, and data exposure. The results of the study show that the traditional game of marbles has ethnomathematics related to mathematical concepts including geometric concepts such as circles, balls, triangles, and the, concept of distance. These mathematical concepts can be used to introduce and understand the concepts of geometry and distance through local culture

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the comparison of the quality of learning mathematics through the NHT and STAD models. This type of research is a quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP SMP Putri Yatama Mandiri in the 2021/2022 academic year and the samples in this study were taken by Saturated Sampling, namely class VIIA which was taught through the NHT model with a total of 25 students and class VIIB which was taught through the STAD model with a total of 25 students. The research design was a pretest-posttest control group design, which involved two classes that were given a pretest and a posttest. Data collection techniques are observation sheets of the implementation of learning and student activities, learning achievement tests, student response questionnaires. The results showed: 1) the average pretest score of students through the NHT model was 29.44 (very low) with a standard deviation of 6.01, 100% did not achieve individual mastery, meaning that classical mastery was not achieved, 2) the average score the average posttest of students through the NHT model is 85.20 (high) with a standard deviation of 5.35, 100% of students achieve individual mastery, meaning that classical mastery is achieved, 3) the average score of students' pretest through the STAD model is 38.08 (very low) with a standard deviation of 7.49, 100% obtained did not achieve individual completeness, meaning that classical mastery was not achieved, 4) the average posttest score of students through the STAD model was 81.6 (medium) with a standard deviation of 6.14, it was found that 23 students or 92% achieved individual mastery, meaning that classical mastery was achieved, 5) the average percentage of student response questionnaires that answered yes on NHT was 94.5% and on STAD 97%, meaning that 75% of students had fulfilled answer YES, and 6) the average gain is 0.79 on NHT and 0.70 on STAD. Thus the quality of learning mathematics through the application of the NHT model is not the same as learning mathematics through the application of the STAD model in class VII students of SMP Putri Yatama Mandiri Islamic Boarding School.
