Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the implementation of non-cognitive diagnostic assessment of the ability to read and write hijaiyah letters and write Al-Quran verses, the results of non-cognitive diagnostic assessment of the ability to write hijaiyah letters and Al-Quran verses of 7th-grade students at SMPN 3 Lembang. The research design used a qualitative approach with a field study method of 305 students in grades 7D-7K with descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results revealed that in conducting the assessment, the teacher compiled an assessment rubric and used the percentage formula to measure the ability to read and write the Quran. Then, in general, the ability to read the Al-Quran of students in grades 7D-7K is categorized as fluent in as many as 148 students (49%), and their ability to write hijaiyah letters and Al-Quran verses is categorized as proficient in as many as 225 students (74%). This study concludes that no students can read the Quran and cannot write hijaiyah letters and Quranic verses. The implication of this study can be used as a basis for making non-cognitive diagnostic assessment instruments of the ability to read and write the Quran for learning preparation within the framework of an independent learning curriculum at all levels, specifically at the junior high school level in PAI subjects.

Abstract

Mathematics learning still experiences several problems. It is still found that students have difficulty defining mathematics subject matter in their own sentences. Students also often do not know the actual applications and examples of the concepts they know. Students' ability to understand/master mathematical concepts is still low. This article aims to describe students' mastery of mathematical concepts regarding Linear Equations in Two Variables as well as efforts to improve students' mastery of mathematical concepts. This research includes qualitative research. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, test questions, and documentation. The research results showed that students still had not mastered mathematical concepts in the material Linear Equations in Two Variables. This can be seen in students who struggle to memorize formulas and calculation processes involving large numbers. Apart from that, students do not yet understand defining concepts in writing and identify and create examples and non-examples related to the material. The efforts made to improve students' concept mastery abilities include teachers maximizing their role in the learning process and understanding various learning models that stimulate students' ability to learn with careful teaching planning by the teacher.

Abstract

Chemical concepts are tiered from simple to complex. If misconceptions occur in simple concepts, they can cause misconceptions in complex concepts. The four-tier instrument is a tool for detecting misconceptions. This research aims to develop and describe the validity and reliability of a four-tier instrument on junior secondary-level chemistry concepts. This development research consists of 6 procedures: (1) concept mapping, (2) testing, (3) defining unscientific concepts, (4) developing four-tier instrument prototypes, (5) validating four-tier instrument prototypes, and (6) finalization of four-tier instruments. The developed four-tier instrument consists of 27 questions that measure chemistry concepts at the junior intermediate level. The instrument received an expert validation score of 92.81% with very valid criteria. The test results on 30 samples showed a reliability value based on a Cronbach alpha score of 0.713 with good criteria. The four-tier instrument on lower secondary level chemistry concepts meets the validity and reliability requirements so that it can be used to diagnose misconceptions on lower secondary level chemistry concepts.
