Abstract

This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of the experience of culture shock and adaptation experienced by participants in the Merdek Batch 3 Student Exchange Program at Ganesha University of Education. The method used in this research is a phenomenological approach, which provides space for participants to describe their experiences in depth and subjectively. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with exchange program participants, which were then analyzed using a phenomenological approach. The results of this research show that exchange program participants experience various stages in their adaptation process, starting from the initial culture shock to finally being able to adapt to the new environment. In addition, this research also identifies factors that influence the participants' adaptation process, such as differences in language, system education, cultural values, and social differences. These findings provide valuable insight for universities and other educational institutions in providing effective support for student exchange program participants. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the culture shock experience and adaptation of student exchange program participants, as well as provide recommendations for educational institutions to improve their exchange programs.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes in reduced mathematics subject matter by implementing the Problem Based Learning learning model for class I students at SDN Plamongansari 02 first semester 2023/2024. The type of research used is classroom action research (PTK). The CAR model used is the spiral model from Kemmis, S and Mc Taggart, R using two cycles where each cycle consists of three stages, namely (1) Action planning, (2) Implementation of actions and observations, and (3) reflection. The subjects of this research were 28 class I students at SDN Plamongansari 02, Pedurungan District, Semarang City. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis methods are qualitative and quantitative. The conclusion of this research is that using the PBL model assisted by audiovisual media, there was an increase in learning outcomes for class I subtraction material. The results of improving learning using the Problem Based Learning model can be seen from the percentage of completion in pre-cycle conditions of 42.86%, cycle I increased to 64.29% and in cycle II increased to 78.57% with KKM ≥75.

Abstract

This research is motivated by types of road damage, index values ​​and solutions to repair damage that occurs on Jalan Raya Balongbendo. The aim of this research is to identify types of damage, calculate index values, and analyze solutions in repairing damage that occurs on Jalan Raya Balongbendo. The method in this research is Bina Marga 1990 by collecting data from location survey results and secondary data. The research results showed that the types of damage that occurred on Jalan Raya Balongbendo were Edge Cracks, Crocodile Skin Cracks, Holes and Patches. From the calculation data obtained based on the road condition values, a periodic maintenance and routine maintenance program was taken.

Abstract

To strive and expand organizations need to have competent and loyal employees who can be dependable enough not only for the present condition but also to be the future leaders of the organizations. This condition makes organizations need to conduct employee identification of their potential and competency. The results of the identification to be used not only for putting the employees based on the right man and the right place but also to identify potential employees that can become the talent. There are many methods can be used for this program and one of it is using the method of Assessment Center. By using this method with many varieties of the assessment the results of the employee assessment will be more complete. This paper will discuss about the implementation of the Assessment Center method to identify the potential and competent employees to become the talent and the future leader of the organization.

Abstract

The Trans Metro Deli policy in Medan City is an effort to improve public transportation services. First, this policy provides an integrated and efficient mass transportation system through a special bus network with routes that cross strategic points in the city of Medan. Second, the adoption of information technology in the operational management of Trans Metro Deli allows users to obtain the latest information regarding bus schedules, routes and conditions in real-time, increasing reliability and user comfort. Apart from that, implementing affordable fares is also an important point in this policy, expanding transportation accessibility for people from various economic layers. Third, the Trans Metro Deli policy also prioritizes safety and security aspects in the use of public transportation by establishing operational standards and strict supervision of the bus fleet and personnel. This has a positive impact on public perception and trust in the service. Furthermore, efforts to improve infrastructure including the development of special bus stops and lanes are also an important part of this policy, ensuring accessibility and efficiency in daily operations. In conclusion, the Trans Metro Deli policy in Medan City is a significant step in improving public transportation services by integrating various aspects such as operational efficiency, use of technology, safety, comfort and accessibility. In this way, it is hoped that it can have a broad positive impact on the mobility and quality of life of city residents.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between divergent thinking abilities and scientific creativity. That creativity is stated to originate from divergent and convergent thinking. Quantitative descriptive methods with a correlation approach were used in the research. A total of 100 prospective science teacher students were research subjects using random sampling techniques. Measuring divergent thinking abilities uses an instrument that adapts Graphic Convergent Thinking (GCT), consisting of the Gestalt Completion Test (GCT) and Snowy Picture Test (SPT). The scientific creativity instrument adapts the Scientific Creativity Test (SCT), which contains the dimensions of unusual use, problem finding, product improvement, creative imagination, problem solving, science experimentation, and product design. Correlation analysis was carried out using the Pearson correlation test. The results of the correlation test analysis obtained a Pearson correlation index of 0.932 with a significance of 0.000. These results state that divergent thinking has a very strong correlation with scientific creativity. Divergent thinking gives individuals the ability to produce many solutions with many ways of solving problems. The accuracy of the solution provided depends on the initial knowledge or information that the individual already has. Divergent thinking does not always produce new solutions.

Abstract

The learning activities at SDN Peterongan still largely use classical methods, where the teacher explains and the students just listen. Initial observations showed that this method is not engaging for students, leading them to talk among themselves and lose focus during lessons. Quizizz as a learning medium has potential as an effective tool suitable for 21st-century students. The use of web-based educational media like Quizizz can make learning more engaging and improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Peterongan Semarang. This classroom action research was conducted at SDN Peterongan Semarang during the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, targeting fifth-grade students, totaling 24 students, consisting of 11 boys and 13 girls. The data analyzed included both quantitative and qualitative data. Data collection methods included observation activities for teacher and student activities, as well as assessments or tests. The research findings showed that the percentage of students achieving mastery learning in cycle I was 75%, which increased to 88% in cycle II. From these data, it can be concluded that the use of Quizizz as a learning medium can significantly improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Peterongan.Bagian Atas Formulir

Abstract

The research in this paper aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics ateri unit length in class II SD Negeri Peterongan Semarang by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by concrete objects media. There were 19 students in grade II at SD Negeri Peterongan Semarang who became research subjects. This research was conducted using the Classroom Action research method which consists of Pre-Cycle, Cycle 1, and Cycle 2. This cycle consists of 4 stages, namely the planning stage, the action implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. This study uses data collection techniques by conducting learning outcomes tests. From the results of the study revealed that second grade students of SD Negeri Peterongan Semarang achieved better learning outcomes when applying the PBL model assisted by concrete objects media. In cycle I, the acquisition of the percentage of learning completeness was 79% with an average score of 75.84 In cycle II, the percentage of learning experienced a significant increase of 89% with an average score of 80.84. This shows that there is an increase in the percentage of completeness by 10% and an increase in the average score by 5.0. So, it can be concluded that the PBL model assisted by concrete objects can improve the learning outcomes of mathematics unit length material in class II SD Negeri Peterongan Semarang.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the activities of teachers, students and learning outcomes in mathematics subjects through the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by PowerPoint media in terms of learning styles. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class IVa SDN 2 Wameo, the number of students was 30 people. The types of data in this research are qualitative data and quantitative data. This research shows the following results: (1) the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can increase teacher activity by 92.71% (good category), far above the predetermined success indicator, namely ≥75% (good category) . (2) The application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can increase student learning activities, namely 76.27% (good category), which is above the success indicator, namely ≥75% (good category). (3) Applying the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve mathematics learning outcomes, namely 96.67% (complete category), far above the success indicator, namely ≥85% (complete category).
