Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the think pair share learning model on student learning outcomes. The type of research used is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The data processed are the results of the pre-test and post-test given to all class XI IPS students at SMA Negeri 28 Bone. The data collection method in this research is a test instrument. The data was processed using instrument tests in the form of question difficulty level tests and question distinguishing power tests and to answer the research hypothesis descriptive statistical tests and inferential statistical tests were carried out using normality tests and hypothesis tests. Based on the research results and existing data, researchers can conclude that the think pair share learning model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes. This is proven by the increase in the average score from pretest to posttest as well as the results of the hypothesis test that has been carried out, the results of the paired samples test show a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, the analysis results of tcount > ttable or 15,000 > 1.74588, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

This research uses this type of research quantitative with a one group pretest posttest research design. As for location research, namely at SMPN 2 Amali. The population of this research is class VIII SMPN 2 Amali while the sample for this study was class VIII A. Internal variables this research uses two variables, namely the independent variable is jigsaw type cooperative and the dependent variable is student learning outcomes. Instrument this research is a test sheet using pretest and posttest. Data analysis using the normality test and hypothesis testing using the SPSS 26 program. Referring to the average score on student learning outcomes, the pretest score is 42.05 and after being given treatment, the posttest score increased to reach 84.80. Because of this jigsaw type cooperative learning model, students can provide explanations and provide conclusions. This shows that the jigsaw type cooperative learning model provides a significant influence on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) has become increasingly prevalent in non-English subjects within Islamic higher education institutions. However, students’ motivation to engage in EMI-based learning varies due to linguistic, cultural, and pedagogical factors. This study explores the motivation of students in an Islamic higher education institution where EMI is implemented in non-English subjects, examining the key factors that influence their attitudes, engagement, and academic performance. Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected through surveys and interviews with 5 lecturers and 128 students enrolled in EMI courses. The findings indicate that while many students perceive EMI as beneficial for improving their English proficiency and expanding global academic opportunities, challenges such as limited language proficiency, instructor effectiveness, and cultural adaptation impact their motivation. The study also reveals that students with strong intrinsic motivation tend to perform better in EMI courses, whereas those with extrinsic motivation often struggle due to linguistic barriers. Moreover, Islamic values and institutional support play a crucial role in shaping students' attitudes toward EMI. The study suggests that integrating language support programs, adaptive teaching strategies, and culturally responsive pedagogy can enhance students’ motivation and academic success in EMI-based learning. The implications of these findings are significant for policymakers and educators aiming to implement EMI effectively in Islamic higher education contexts.

Abstract

Education today is not only focused on knowledge transfer but also emphasizes the development of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills. With the rapid advancement of technology and globalization, the education system is expected to produce students with extensive knowledge and skills relevant to the workforce and everyday life. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method to enhance student skills and examine its impact on their ability to complete tasks and solve problems. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study as the research subject, this study explores how teachers act as facilitators by guiding, monitoring, and providing constructive feedback in project-based learning. The findings indicate that PjBL effectively improves students' critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills through real-world challenges that require innovative solutions. In addition to enhancing academic and social skills, PjBL equips students with essential life skills, including the ability to utilize technology. Despite challenges in integrating learning media, PjBL has been proven to increase student engagement, responsibility, and teamwork. Therefore, this method serves as a relevant learning strategy in addressing modern educational challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of an educational institution's brand image on student enrollment decisions. A strong brand image can enhance institutional appeal and reduce prospective students' sensitivity to factors such as cost and location. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach to identify key factors shaping brand image and how they influence student and parent choices. The analysis reveals that a positive brand image is influenced by academic quality, faculty reputation, facilities, and digital marketing strategies. Additionally, the impact of brand image varies across educational levels, where parents play a more dominant role in decision-making for elementary and middle schools, whereas prospective university students prioritize accreditation and alumni networks. This study provides insights for educational institutions to develop more effective and sustainable branding strategies. Further research is needed to understand how evolving trends and educational policies may impact brand image in the long term.
