Abstract

Calus and shoot induction of curcuma sp requires the balance amount of auxin and cytokinine which are suitable for the plant species. This study was aimed at evaluating the response of ‘temu putih’ (Curcuma zedoaria Rosc.) and ‘temu mangga’ (Curcuma mangga Val.) to the supplementation of 5 ppm BA and several levels of 2,4-D on the MS medium of in vitro culture. The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Agronomy, Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Bengkulu, from December 2018 to February 2019. The plant material was explans isolated from the buds of curcuma tubers. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design arranged in factorial with 2 factors. The first factor was the kinds of curcuma i.e . C. zedoaria and C.mangga. The second factor was the concentration of 2,4–D i.e. 0 ppm, 1 ppm and 2 ppm. The base culture medium was MS with 5 ppm BA. The experimental unit consisted of three botle each of which containing of 1 explant. The treatment was repeated three times amounting to 54 experimental units. The results indicated that both curcuma had different growth respon to in vitro culture. Addition of 2,4-D to the MS medium containing 5 ppm BA produced cally. Callus induction was formed in in vitro culture of Curcuma zeodiaria suplemented with 1 ppm 2,4-D. Up to 2 ppm of 2,4-D, cally production of Curcuma mangga still increasing. Addition of 5 ppm of BA 5 to MS medium induced shoot formation in Curcuma zeodiaria but not in Curcuma mangga.

Abstract

The provision of adequate quality and quantity rations is expected to increase the productivity of the quail. One of the efforts to improve the quality of the ration is by adding fermented bean sprouts waste flour to the ration making, because fermented bean sprouts waste flour is rich in crude protein. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving fermented bean sprouts flour waste in the ration on the appearance of female quail and to determine at what level the provision of fermented bean sprouts flour waste in the ration had the greatest effect on the appearance of female quail. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Each test used 3 female quail with homogeneous body weight. The four treatments were rations without fermented bean sprouts flour waste as a control and rations containing 5%, 10%, and 15% fermented bean sprouts flour. The parameters observed were initial body weight, body weight gain, final body weight, feed consumption, and FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio). The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance. If between treatments shows a significant effect, then proceed with the smallest real distance test from Duncan (Steel and Torie, 1991). Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the addition of fermented bean sprouts flour in the grower-layer phase of female quail ration has an insignificant effect on all variables such as initial body weight, body weight gain, final body weight, ration consumption and FCR (Feed Converstion Ratio).

Abstract

Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is a freshwater fishery commodity in Indonesia which has a high protein content. Many studies on the benefits of snakehead fish have resulted in an increase in the amount of demand for these fish. One of the production factors that support fish farming is feed. The snakehead fish seeds have an average length of 2 cm, with rudimentary digestive organs. Therefore, the most suitable feed as seed feed is natural food. Commonly used natural feed is water fleas (Daphnia sp.) and silk worms (Tubifex sp.). This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of feed on the growth of snakehead fish seeds and to determine the combination of feed that gives the highest growth in snakehead fish seeds. This research was conducted at the Fisheries Resources Development Laboratory, Warmadewa University for 60 days, from March to April 2020. The method used in this study was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. The analysis used in this study was Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that there was an effect of combination feeding on the growth of snakehead fish as indicated by the increase in absolute weight and length. And the sixth treatment is a combination of feed that provides the highest growth in snakehead fish seeds.

Abstract

This research is a field experiment conducted in paddy fields in Sumerta Village, East Denpasar District, with a place height of 40 meters above sea level, with an average temperature of 25-30 oC, which was carried out from 1 May 2018 to 4 June 2018. The purpose of this study was to find the influence of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer biomi with urea fertilizer on the growth and yield of mustard plants. This experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with a factorial pattern, which consisted of two factors, namely: the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer biomi (B) and urea (U). The first factor, the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer biomi (B) consists of 4 levels: B0 = (0 ml l-1), B1 = (2.5 ml l-1), B2 = (5 ml l-1), B3 = (7.5 ml l-1). The second factor, the dose of urea (U) consists of 2 levels: U0 = (0 kg ha-1), U1 = (50 kg ha-1). Based on the results of this study, we can conclude the following: the interaction of liquid organic fertilizer dose biomi with urea fertilizer has no significant effect on all observed variables. The administration of 50 kg ha-1 urea fertilizer (U1) gave the fresh weight of the crop per plant ie 99.85 g, increasing by 28.57% compared to without urea fertilizer. The treatment of liquid organic fertilizer biomi concentration of 7.5 ml l-1 (B3) gave the highest yield that can be seen from the highest fresh weight of the crop which and the highest weight of the economic yield is 93.63 g and 80.90 g

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of rabbit compost and NPK Mutiara dosage and their interactions on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factorials. The first factor is the provision of rabbit compost fertilizer with 3 levels (0, 10, and 20 ton ha-1) and the second factor is giving NPK Mutiara fertilizer with 3 levels (0, 150, and 300 kg ha-1). The interaction between rabbit compost and pearl NPK had no significant effect on all observed variables except for the fruit fresh weight variable, which had a significant effect. The treatment of rabbit compost (K) had a significant to very significant effect on all observed variables, except for the variable number of fruits per plant and staged oven dry weight, which had no significant effect. The treatment of NPK pearl fertilizer (M) statistically has no significant effect on all observed variables, except for the variable fresh weight of fruit and dry weight of the staged oven which has a significant effect. The highest fruit fresh weight was obtained at the interaction between the dose of 20 ton ha-1 rabbit compost with a dose of 300 kg ha-1 NPK pearl of 6322.42 g or an increase of 150.36% when compared to the interaction between without rabbit compost and NPK pearl of 2525.37 g. Provision of rabbit compost of 20 ton ha-1 and NPK pearl 300 kg ha-1 can be suggested to increase the fresh fruit weight of cucumber plants.

Abstract

Forage is the main source of feed for ruminants, both for basic living, growth, production and reproduction. The provision and quality of forage will determine the productivity and development of ruminants. To achieve this, several quality and high production forages have been developed, one of which is Setaria Grass. The way to improve grass product and quality is fertilization using organic fertilizers. Research has been carried out with the aim of knowing the quality of Setaria grass (Setaria sphacelata) fed with cow manure and goat manure with different doses. This study used a 4 × 2 factorial randomized block design (RAK), where 2 types of fertilizer treatments (Factor A) and 4 fertilizer dosage treatments (Factor B) consisted of 8 treatments, namely: D0S without the addition of cow fertilizer), D1S (addition Cow Fertilizer 10 tons / Ha), D2S (Addition of Cow Fertilizer 20 tons / Ha), D3S (Increase Cow Fertilizer 30 tons / Ha), D0K (Without Addition of Goat Fertilizer), D1K (Addition of Goat Fertilizer 10 tons / Ha), D2K (Addition of Goat Fertilizer 20 tons / Ha), and D3K (Addition of Goat Fertilizer 30 tons / Ha). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results showed that the type of fertilizer (Factor A) had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the levels of ash, crude protein, crude fiber and fat. Fertilizer dosage (factor B) significantly (P> 0.05) the content of crude protein, crude fiber and crude fat. There was an interaction between the type of fertilizer and the fertilizer dose on the ash content, and crude fiber of Setaria sphacelata grass
