Abstract

Arabic language is very important for moslems, through the Arabicteaching throughout the world will increasingly flourish. However, if facedwith the activities within the Arabic learning process, not a few students whohave less motivation in learning activities. This resulted in fewer maximalof Arabic learning processes and in turn will affect student achievement.This research focuses to discuss matters relating to the motivation to learnand student achievement, with the aim of strengthening the importance ofmotivation in the learning Arabic language. The method used is descriptiveanalysis to the students of Arabic Department of Universitas MuhammadiyahMalang. The conclusion from this research is the students have a goodachievement in Arabic learning if it has a well and motivated as well, and thisstudy hopes the Arabic lectures to increase motivation and achievement ofArabic students.

Abstract

A knowledge of words, phrases, clauses is essential to good writting andspeaking, but it doesn’t mean neglect the other part of grammar. The correction ofwriting and speaking is to concentrate on what we are saying rather than on how weare saying it. The problems might raise once speakers find similar words in meaningbut cotextually different in use. The study aims to investigate the forms of words thathave more than one correct meaning but different in use. The data were collected bysorting some potential words that have the same meanings in the dictionary as acontent analysis.The words were investigated in the dictionary and provided theirmeanings in forms of tables.The words were analysed qualitatively by looking at themeaning prescribed in dictionary and compared how they are used in a sentence. Itis found that words serve different purposes in language. Some words seem to havefunction words that cue a reader or speaker to the structure of the sentence suchas are, that, a, to, or, the, of, and so forth. Function words make spoken languagemeaningful and written language coherent and readable. Other words might refer ascontent words that communicate meaning in text. Clearly, students must know bothkinds of words to understand what they read.

Abstract

The main focus which discus in this research is how thesupervision is carried out by the principal as a supervisor. The principal’sleadership function is to carry out school management and guidancethrough administration, management and leadership activities that arehighly dependent on their abilities. The method used is a case study becauseit is to maintain the integrity of the system in a routine program. Thepurpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the principal’sleadership as a supervisor in supervising teacher performance. Based onthe analysis conducted concluded as follows. (1) The principal’s supervisionof teachers in primary schools has a very strategic role in determiningpolicies and improving the quality of learning processes towards achievingthe expected goals. Abstract

This research aims to explain the government’s policy and thestatus of scholars in southern Thailand and their efforts in disseminatingIslamic sciences, focusing on the efforts of devoted scholars in particular in adifferent field as well as focusing on the development and progress of Islamiceducation and reform in southern Thailand, which the government decideswith political and economic factors, the higher the state of governmentintervention For the educational or educational system, it will be moreopen to the occurrence of Islamic educational and educational reform. Abstract

This research is based on the lack of motivation of students inadding memorization and maintaining memorization, even though theresults of the study show that memorization of the Koran has an influenceon understanding Arabic. The purpose of this study is to determine whetherthere is a relationship between tsiqah tahfidz Al-Qur’an with maharah allughahal-arabiyyah mustawa tsalits in Ma’had Az-Zubair bin Al-Awwam.This study uses quantitative methods, the population in the study directlyinto a sample of 26 people, data collection techniques in this study usingquestionnaires, after the data are obtained the researchers analyze the datawith the percentage and correlation formula. The research findings are thatthere is a significant relationship between tsiqah tahfidz Al-Qur’an withmaharah al-lughah al-‘arabiyah. The conclusions in this study are: 1). Tsiqahtahfidz Al-Qur’an is included in the high classification, with an average of83.81, located at intervals of 83-88, frequency 8 and a percentage of 30.8%,2). Maharah al-lughah al-‘arabiyah belongs to the high classification, withan average of 80.54, located at intervals of 79-85, frequency of 10 and apercentage of 38.5%, 3). There is a significant relationship between tsiqahtahfidz Al-Qur’an with maharah al-lughah al-’arabiyah, the test obtainedrcount of 0.680 and rtable for N 26 of 0.388. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada kurangnya motivasi siswa dalammenambahkan menghafal dan memelihara penghafalan, meskipun hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa menghafal Alquran memiliki pengaruh padapemahaman bahasa Arab. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukanapakah ada hubungan antara tsiqah Tahfidz Al-Qur>an dengan Maharah Al-Lughah Al-‘Arabiyyah mustawa tsalits di Ma>had Az-Zubair bin Al-Awwam.Studi ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, populasi dalam studi langsungke sampel dari 26 orang, teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian inimenggunakan kuesioner, setelah data diperoleh peneliti menganalisis datadengan rumus persentase dan korelasi. Temuan penelitian adalah bahwa adahubungan yang signifikan antara tsiqah Tahfidz Al-Qur’an dengan MaharahAl-Lughah Al-’Arabiyah. Kesimpulan dalam kajian ini adalah: 1). tsiqah Tahfidz Al-Qur’an termasuk dalam klasifikasi tinggi, dengan rerata 83,81, terletakpada interval 83-88, frekuensi 8 dan persentasi sebesar 30,8%, 2). Maharah Al-Lughah Al-’Arabiyah tergolong klasifikasi tinggi, dengan rerata 80,54, terletakpada interval 79-85, frekuensi 10 dan persentase 38,5% , 3). Ada hubunganyang signifikan antara tsiqah Tahfidz Al-Qur’an dengan Maharah Al-LughahAl-’ Arabiyah, tes yang diperoleh rcount 0,680 dan rtable untuk N 26 dari0,388.

Abstract

This research is a development research (research and development).The purpose of this research is the development of Arabic learning media forandroid-based mastery of nahwu, knowing the appropriateness of the mediaand knowing the increase in nahwu understanding of Arabic Language andLiterature Department students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta by usingandroid application media. To find out the extent of the feasibility of usingthe media, the writer uses a richter scale with the categories of SB (VeryGood), B (Good), C (Fair), KB (Not Good), TB (Not Good). The assessmentwas carried out by IT experts (deplovers) and material experts and 30 studentsas respondents. Meanwhile, to find out the increased use of this applicationmedia the authors use the t test by doing pretest and posttest to 30 respondents.The results of the study based on the pretest and posttest that have beendone 1) the use of android-based media applications can improve students’understanding in nahwu lessons 2) the results of different test mean analysisshows that the posttest score is greater than the pretest namely 84.00 and60.33 with a difference of 23.67. 3) Paired t-test results show a 2-tailed valueof 0,000 ‘0.005 which means that Android-based Arabic learning media canimprove the understanding of students of Arabic Language and LiteratureDepartment at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (researchand devlopment). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan mediapembelajaran Bahasa Arab untuk penguasaan nahwu berbasis android,mengetahui kelayakan media tersebut serta mengetahui peningkatanpemahaman nahwu mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Arab UIN SunanKalijaga Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan media aplikasi android. Untukmengetahui sejauh mana kelayakan penggunaan media tersebut, penulismenggunakan skala rikter dengan katagori nilai SB (Sangat Baik), B (Baik),C (Cukup), KB (Kurang Baik), TB (Tidak Baik). Penilaian dilakukan olehahli IT (deplover) dan ahli materi dan 30 mahasiswa sebagai responden.Sedangkan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penggunaan media aplikasi inipenulis menggunakan uji t dengan melakukan pretest dan posttest kepada 30 responden. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan pretest dan posttest yang telahdilakukan 1) penggunaan aplikasi media berbasis android dapat meningkatkanpemahaman mahasiswa dalam pelajaran nahwu 2) hasil analisi uji beda Meanmenunjukan bahwa nilai posttest lebih besar dari pretest yaitu 84.00 dan60.33 dengan selisih 23.67. 3) hasil uji Paired t-test menunjukan nilai 2-tailedsebesar 0.000 < 0.005 yang berarti media pembelajaran Bahasa Arab berbasisandroid dapat meningkatkan pemahamn nahwu mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasadan Sastra Arab UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Comprehensive approach in teaching is a further implementationof the teaching plan that covers teaching procedure in detail. This researchaim to explore said comprehensive approach for Arabic language teachingthat focused in developing the four skills: listening (maharat al-istima’),speaking (maharat al-kalam), reading (maharat al-qira’at), and writing(maharat al-kitabah). This comprehensive approach consists of four steps:orientation, exploration, strengthening, and summarizing. Orientation isthe first step in the teaching process that encourages students to focus theirstudy on the subject presented. Exploration is the next step in the processthat encourages students to be active in finding the facts, problems, and itssolutions. Strengthening step is the process of deepening, broadening, andstrengthening the students’ skill and mastery of the subject obtained in theexploration step. The last step is summarizing, encourages the students topresent and summarize the subject they studied. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan komprehensif merupakanlangkah implementasi dari rencana pembelajaran terpadu secara menyeluruh,berisi rincian dari prosedur pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengungkapkan bagaimana pendekatan komprehensif dalam pembelajaranbahasa Arab yang difokuskan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasaArab, seperti keterampilan mendengar (Maharat al-Istima’), keterampilanberbicara (Maharat al-Kalam), keterampilan membaca (Maharat al-Qira’at),keterampilan menulis (Maharat al-Kitabah). Ada empat langkah utamadalam pendekatan komprehensif ini yaitu, langkah orientasi, eksplorasi,pemantapan dan penyimpulan. Langkah orientasi atau kegiatan awalpembelajaran merupakan langkah untuk mendorong kelas memusatkanperhatian terhadap pembelajaran; langkah eksplorasi adalah langkah untukmengajak dan mendorong siswa untuk mencari dan menemukan fakta,pengetahuan, masalah dan pemecahan; langkah pemantapan merupakanlangkah memperdalam, memperluas, memantapkan, memperkuatpenguasaan materi dan kemampuan yang telah dicapai pada langkaheksplorasi; dan langkah penyimpulan adalah langkah untuk menyimpulkantentang apa yang telah dipelajari.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) classify errors in the use of Indonesianlanguage which include the use of spelling and punctuation, word selection,sentence composition, paragraph preparation in the scientific work of FTKUIN Mataram students; (2) describe the obstacles and solutions for the useof Indonesian in writing scientific papers among students of UIN Mataram.This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach that is supported by verbaldata writing. Data collection in research uses documentation and interviews.The documentation was taken from the fifth semester students’ scientificwork of the Arabic Language Education Department. The results showedthat the errors in the use of Indonesian language of FTK UIN Mataramstudents included 35% letter writing errors, 45% writing punctuation errors,25% word selection errors, and 20% sentence writing mistakes. The obstaclesin the use of Indonesian in the scientific work of students of the Faculty ofEngineering UIN Mataram are language barriers and non-language barriers.Language barriers in the form of not mastering Indonesian languagerules correctly, and non-linguistic barriers include lack of practice andhabituation, control of the results of writing scientific papers for studentsof the Faculty of Engineering UIN Mataram. The solution that can bedone is to get used to the use of Indonesian language based on languagerules, coaching by lecturers through mentoring writing scientific papers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengklasifikasikan kesalahanpenggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang meliputi pengguanaan ejaan dan tandabaca, pemilihan kata, penyusunan kalimat, penyusunan paragraf dalamkarya ilmiah mahasiswa FTK UIN Mataram; (2) mendeskripsikan hambatandan solusi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam penulisan karya ilmiah dikalangan Mahasiswa FTK UIN Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang didukung dengan data verbal tulisan.Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan dokumentasi danwawancara. Dokumentasi diambil dari karya ilmiah mahasiswa semesterV Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwakesalahan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia mahasiswa FTK UIN Mataram meliputi kesalahan penulisan huruf 35%, kesalahan penulisan tanda baca45%, kesalahan dalam pemilihan kata 25%, dan kesalahan dalam penyusunankalimat 20%. Adapun hambatan dalam penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalamkarya ilmiah mahasiswa FTK UIN Mataram adalah hambatan kebahasaandan hambatan non-kebahasaan. Hambatan kebahasaan berupa kurangmenguasai kaidah bahasa Indonesia dengan benar, dan hambatan nonkebahasaanmeliputi kurangnya latihan dan pembiasaan, pengontrolanterhadap hasil menulis karya ilmiah bagi mahasiswa FTK UIN Mataram.Adapun solusi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan pembiasaan penggunaanbahasa Indonesia berdasarkan kaidah kebahasaan, pembinaan oleh dosenmelalui pendampingan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah.

Abstract

This paper investigates the preferred criteria EFL undergraduatesin an Indonesian University use for journal article selection and the strategiesthey employed for the reading of the articles. Five final year students wereinterviewed to collect pertinent data. Using semi-structured interviewtechnique, the findings suggests that the main criterion for journal articleselection is its similarity with their research topics. In addition to this, theyalso consider journal reputation as well as ease of access. Their preferencesmight be partially influenced by prior instruction from lecturers in relevantcourses. In terms of reading strategies, they reported they did not read thewhole article whilst focusing on certain structure such as abstract, findings,and conclusion. These strategies are mainly cognitive and overlook themetacognitive ones. Therefore, teachers are suggested to scaffold the readingjournal articles to foster critical thinking and evaluation of the selectedarticles as well as metacognitive awareness to construct arguments from thetexts.

Abstract

The results of this study aim to explain efforts to strengthenteacher competence through the use of simple and modern media. Learningmedia have a strategic role in making it easier for teachers to deliver learningmaterial. To be able to use the media, curiosity, innovative and creativesouls are needed. In the learning process, teachers can use both simple andexpensive learning media. Teachers can make media from used goods orcan also use computer-based media through PowerPoint programs. Thisresearch was conducted at the Daaruttayyibin Islamic Boarding School withthe Participatory Action Research (PAR) model which was carried out with5 stages of activities namely; (1) orientation, socialization and FGD; (2)training in making media from used goods; (3) Training in making mediafrom powerpoint media; (4) assistance; and (5) monitoring evaluation. Theresults showed that the training made learning media from used goods andpower points had a significant impact on knowledge and experience andimproved teacher skills in designing instructional media. Hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan upaya penguatankompetensi guru melalui pemanfaatan media sederhana dan modern.Media pembelajaran memiliki peran strategis dalam mempermudahguru menyampaikan materi pembelajaran. Untuk dapat memanfaatkanmedia, dibutuhkan rasa ingin tahu, jiwa inovatif dan kreatif. Dalam prosespembelajaran, guru bisa menggunakan media pembelajaran baik yangsederhana maupun yang mahal. Guru dapat membuat media dari barangbekas atau bisa juga dengan pemanfaatan media berbasis computer melaluiprogram powerpoint. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Ponpes Daaruttayyibindengan model Partisipatory Action Research (PAR) yang dilakukan dengan5 tahapan kegiatan yaitu; (1) orientasi, sosialisasidan FGD; (2) pelatihanpembuatan media dari barang bekas; (3) Pelatihan pembuatan media darimedia powerpoint; (4) pendampingan; dan (5) monitoring evaluasi. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan membuat media pembelajarandari barang bekas dan power point memberikan dampak signifikan terhadappengetahuan dan pengalaman serta meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalammendesain media pembelajaran.
