Abstract

The benefits of photography as a tool for an effective and reliable communicating, are summarized in Photo journalistic . In one side, photography has the feel of reality in detail the reliable, furthermore, photography is also a more rapidly digested, knew and understood. So the response and reaction will be given to the information that there will be more quickly and precisely. Moreover with the invention of digital technology will shorten the process of delivering information to better results and faster. Through a combination of drawings and manuscripts, photographs contained in a newspaper or magazine will give us information as is appropriate. Because the image is recorded based on trust-owned, which is something that is absolutely necessar y to inform the sustainability of human life on this earth. In addition, not only, the works of photo-journalistic produced have the factual, reality and detail that is strong, but also contains the values of the beauty of high, given the work that was created by a photojournalist eye will be seen by millions of human beings throughout the world through the mass media both print and electronically.Keywords: Photography, Mass Media, Script.

Abstract

Old building representing the indies colony was abandoned in several heritage districtsin Yogyakarta. The Government did not conduct a serious plan and act to conservethe heritage buildings based on the rules of heritage law. The old buildings in Yogyakartahas been mostly over 50th years old, and they have been considered as the heritagebuildings based on the Yogyakarta’s history and the unique architecture. The Governmentand society should be concerned to conserve the heritage buildings in the self ways orcollaborate. This documentary video is one of the efforts of conserving the heritagebuilding in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Family portraits represent gender ideology of a family,and even more widely or asocio-culturally construct society.Family portraits are usually saved and displayed in aconcrete space, on the media wall of a living room, or a family room. Advances intechnology information, bearing new space called the virtual space or cyberspace,havemade it possible for family portraits be displayed in the cyberspace. The researchexplains how gender constructions is displayed through the representation of the familyportraits.This research uses qualitative methods and semiotic approach for its analysis.The results show that gender ideology,normative values,and heteronormativity in thefamily portrait are represented by the position, gestures, clothing, photography, andphotographic composition (aesthetics).Furthermore,is also shown that cyberspace hasbecome a space that manifests gender ideology as well contributes to the familyconstruction. Family portraits do not always display the representation of normativegender roles,but also a family portrait can negotiate with the values that are considerednon-normative ideology.Keywords : Family portrait, representation, and gender

Abstract

The Siti film directed by Eddie Cahyono deserves to be appreciated as a work of long fiction films by creative production. Evidently, the film funded with a budget under 150 million rupiah, able to deliver it into the nomination of film festivals, even this film is able to win awards in a number of prestigious film festivals in various countries. It can not be separated from the creative work of Eddie Cahyono as a scriptwriter and director at the filmThis creative work isdue to his role as a meticulous person,looking deeply,appreciating the role of women,elevating her dignity and then transferring it in a film. Siti is a reflection of women living in confinement, debt induced,taking care of families and husbands paralyzed by sea accidents as fishermen.Siti just want to be free and independent of it all, it is a statement to be conveyed Eddie Cahyonothrough this film.The stages in reviewing this creativity include Eddie Cahyono's work steps in writing film scenarios that include the process of finding ideas, themes, story settings, story conflicts to the whole siti movie scenario,while to examine the directing process including the preproduction process (script breakdown, casting, reading, rehearsal), production process (shooting in the field) and post-production process through the mise en scene in the Siti film.Keywords: Siti film,creativity,scriptwriter,and director

Abstract

In nowadays context, Javanese people in Suriname seems to be something un expectable. They have been living far away from the mother land since a century ago. This kind condition not only restricted the communication within their ancestors but loose also the access into their cultural and identity references. Who really am I? Where did I Come from ? and What is my goal here? There are some frequent questions. Following the technology, here , is internet , we now able to see that Javanese people in Suriname can say the origin of their Javanese identity. Abstract

Today the musical theatre is a new performance art that was created by famous Indonesian filmmakers. Convensional elements in the film production combine with visual display on the musical performances creatively and elegantly. The drastically change in film became a medium of show, provide a change not merely in terms of visual-physical, but more change in the context, especially meaning, the message will be delivered by the musical art. Abstract

The architecture of the playground in the expression photography is an idea of visual fragment which are visualized become photography art. The characteristics on the deconstruction building consist of irregular lines and unique geometric forms inspire for creating photography art especially in line, form and color elements. The results of the creative processes are photos which are dominant with details or corners of playground building. Abstract

The idea of this research, Damar Kurung Masmundari, is how Masmundari's struggle to preserve arts tradition in Gresik by using third composition visual field expository documentary. Duration of this documentary movie is 26 minutes and showing a reconstruction of Masmundari as an artist Damar Kurung. The benefit is to show the proportion and composition of subject and object trough the rule of thirds.In addition, this research shows the point of interest of Damar Kurung proportion to attract the audience. The rule of thirds technique is used because subject in Damar Kurung Masmundari movie showed focused as well as symmetries being a point of interest.Keywords : documentary,expository,Damar Kurung Masmundari,and exploration.

Abstract

This study discusses the procedures of costumes and characters in the Sukarnofilm. This qualitative descriptive research apply the Sukarno film as source of data. Thecollection of data by purposive sampling, with the method of observation, interviews,and literature. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, drawingconclusions and verification process. The results showed that the costumes portraythe characterization of the characters. Costume adjusted with basic clothing, headclothing, body clothing, legs underwear, and accessories are known for costume parts.Each character has a unique costume and a differentiator from other figures. Costumealso build characterization of actors according to the physiological dimension (neatness,cleanliness, beauty, beauty, valor, charm, charisma, and authority). Sociological dimensionsindicate socioeconomic class, role in the family / community, ideology, ancestry, levelof education, religion, ethnicity / race, and interaction between the actors. While thepsychological dimensions adapted to the atmosphere and scene. Color and layoutcostume describing feelings, honesty, sincerity, emotion, desire, desire, passion, inneraction, as well as the vision of each character in the film.Keywords: costume, characterization, actor, film, and Soekarno

Abstract

There are several television programs format,including the drama and non-drama.Videoclip is not drama or non-drama or journalism.However,video clips and commercials is a part ofa television program. Creative television is the format of audio-visual works that consist ofvideo clips and commercials. In making the creative television programs should be requiredcreative ideas for producing a visual work that is interesting and innovative.Video clip (musicvideo) is a tool for music producers to market a product or its artists through the medium oftelevision.So video clips can be defined as audiovisual works from a song produced by a group ofmusic in order to promote or popularize the music group along with their songs.Advertising isany forms of communication that is intended to motivate someone of potential buyers andsellers to promote a product or service.Advertising as a media campaign is divided into severalcategories,including:TV Commercial and Non-commercial ads.Commercial ads are advertisingthat aim to support the marketing campaign of a product or service. Meanwhile, noncommercial ads are ads in the form of a social marketing campaign to sell the idea or ideas forthe benefit or public service.Director of photography has an important role in determining thevisual concept. Changes of the script into a visual form is through the role of a camera personthinking through the medium of the camera.The use of One Shot shooting technique and colorcontrast are a visual concept that is applied in making this work.The One Shot technique is usedin the manufacture of video clips,while the contrasting coloring is applied in the manufacture ofadvertising is also on the video clip.With the visual concept is expected to give an idea of the feelof the new visualization mainly to the appreciation of communicative media are experimentaland educational, so as to form a pattern of thinking creatively in generating ideas artvisualization.Keywords :One Shot technique, color contrast, video clip, and creative television
