Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of interaction between teachers and students from the perspective of the Qur'an through a thematic exegesis of QS. Al-Kahf [18]: 60–82, which tells the story of the meeting of the Prophet Moses and Khidr. The purpose of this study is to identify pedagogical values ​​that represent the educational relationship of the Qur'an and its relevance to the paradigm of contemporary Islamic education. The approach used is a qualitative literature study based on primary sources of classical and contemporary interpretations, as well as the latest research in the field of Islamic education. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify the main themes in the interaction between Moses and Khidr. The results of the study show that the relationship between teachers and students in the story displays three main values ​​from the student's perspective, namely tawadhu' (humility), sabar (steadfastness in learning), and taat (obedience to the teacher's guidance). From the teacher's perspective, the principles of hikmah (wisdom), tadarruj (gradual method), and amanah ilmu (ethics in conveying knowledge) were found. These values ​​form a framework for Qur'anic pedagogy that balances the cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions in the learning process. Research findings also indicate that the story of Moses and Khidr is relevant to modern pedagogical concepts such as mentoring models, experiential learning, and scaffolding within the zone of proximal development (ZPD). The interaction between the two emphasizes that education, from a Qur'anic perspective, is not merely the transfer of knowledge but rather the process of developing wisdom, character, and etiquette. Thus, Surah Al-Kahf (18:60–82) can be used as a conceptual model for Islamic education based on Qur'anic values, oriented toward the formation of intellectually intelligent, spiritually mature, and socially noble human beings.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan memetakan perkembangan ilmu al-Ma‘ājim (leksikografi Arab) dari masa klasik hingga era digital, sebagai upaya memahami transformasi metodologis dan epistemologis dalam penyusunan kamus Arab selama lebih dari satu milenium. Ruang lingkup pembahasan mencakup lima periode utama: periode al-Khalīl ibn Aḥmad dengan Kitāb al-‘Ayn sebagai fondasi pertama leksikografi berbasis makhārij al-ḥurūf; periode Ibn Fāris dan Ibn Sīdah yang menegaskan pendekatan etimologis dan sistematis dalam penelusuran akar kata; periode Ibn Manẓūr sebagai representasi kematangan kamus ensiklopedik lewat Lisān al-‘Arab; periode kamus modern seperti al-Mu‘jam al-Wasīṭ dan al-Mu‘jam al-‘Arabī al-Asāsī yang membawa reformasi pedagogis dan standardisasi bahasa; serta perkembangan kamus elektronik yang menandai digitalisasi ilmu leksikografi dalam bentuk aplikasi, basis data daring, dan corpus linguistics. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka melalui analisis kritis terhadap literatur klasik dan modern mengenai sejarah, metode penyusunan, serta karakteristik masing-masing periode. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ilmu al-Ma‘ājim berkembang secara bertahap dari pendekatan fonetik, etimologis, semantik, pedagogis, hingga komputasional. Kesimpulannya, perkembangan ini mencerminkan dinamika keilmuan bahasa Arab yang terus menyesuaikan diri dengan kebutuhan akademik dan teknologi, sekaligus mempertahankan kedalaman tradisi keilmuan klasik.

Abstract

In the context of modern education, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is an important tool for fostering the development of morals and character of students as a whole. This study aims to determine the influence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching on the moral growth of grade XII students of SMAN 1 Tegalwaru. The background of this study is the importance of the role of PAI in fostering moral and spiritual values ​​of students at the senior high school level, especially in dealing with moral difficulties experienced by students. The approach used is quantitative, and data were collected through a closed questionnaire compiled using indicators of PAI learning variables and student morality. The Spearman Rank correlation test was used to evaluate the results of the analysis showed a strong correlation between student moral development and Islamic Religious Education learning, with a significance level of 0.000 (p <0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.753. This shows the great influence of understanding Islamic Religious Education on student values. This study emphasizes the importance of maximizing Islamic Religious Education learning through the use of application-based, contextual, and exemplary methods.

Abstract

This study aims to explain listening to poetry as an alternative approach to developing literary appreciation and fostering students’ Islamic character. Through poetry listening activities, students are not only guided to understand aesthetic and linguistic aspects but also to internalize the moral and spiritual values contained within the poems. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected through document study and content analysis of relevant literature, while the data analysis technique followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that listening to poetry effectively enhances students’ literary appreciation by developing cognitive, affective, and aesthetic aspects in an integrated manner. Furthermore, this activity significantly contributes to shaping Islamic character traits such as honesty, patience, empathy, and gratitude through the internalization of moral values implied in poetic works. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating poetry listening activities with Islamic educational values in the Indonesian language and literature curriculum, ensuring that learning is not only academically oriented but also focused on strengthening students’ character and spirituality in a holistic manner.

Abstract

This article departs from the contemporary phenomenon of Islamic radicalism, which frequently manifests in patterns of exclusivism, claims of absolute truth, and the practice of takfir toward other groups. This phenomenon indicates a resemblance to the historical mindset of the Khawarij, particularly in their literal and rigid interpretation of religious texts. The main problem addressed in this study concerns the extent to which the Khawarij mindset remains relevant in shaping contemporary Islamic radicalism, as well as how such patterns are reproduced within current socio-religious contexts. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the construction of Khawarij thought and the expressions of contemporary radicalism, while also identifying the factors that drive the reproduction of these patterns. The research employs a library research method, utilizing a conceptual analytical approach to examine relevant classical and contemporary literature. The findings reveal an epistemological continuity between the Khawarij mindset and certain contemporary radical movements, particularly in terms of narrow textual interpretation, the delegitimization of moderate religious authorities, and the justification of violence in the name of religion. However, in the contemporary context, these patterns are further reinforced by socio-political factors, digital media, and identity crises. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening contextual religious literacy, developing inclusive approaches in Islamic education, and formulating deradicalization strategies grounded in historical and sociological understanding. Such efforts are expected to reduce the reproduction of exclusive mindsets and promote a more moderate and dialogical form of religious expression in the future.
