Abstract

The research objective was to evaluate the provision of skipjack tuna offal flour as a substitute for fish meal in quail rations. The research was conducted in August - October 2020 in Boidu Village, North Bulango District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The use of skipjack offal flour in the ration had no significant effect (P 0.05) on ration consumption, ration conversion and body weight gain between treatment and control. The use of skipjack fish offal flour up to a content of 12% as a substitute for fish meal can be used in super native chicken rations.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the phenotypic diversity of the qualitative characteristics of Kampung chickens. This research uses a descriptive statistic method. A total of 300 adult (unsex) chickens aged 6 months were used for this study. Qualitative characteristics include: color feather, color pattern, comb shape, fliker, and color variations. The results showed that the gene frequencies of colored feathers and colorless feathers from Kampung chickens were 0.96% and 0,04. The gene frequencies for the color feather pattern were 0.61, 0.43, and 0,03 for the columbian, wild and black color patterns. The gene frequencies for striated and plain hair were: 0.29 and 0.71. The gene frequencies for silver and gold feathers are 0.30, and 0.71%. The Gene Frequencies for Single Comb and Pae are 0.60 and 0.40. The phenotypic frequency of the color pattern of the Kampung chickens was 43.33%, 38.00%, and 12.00%, for wild, Columbia and black pattern. Phenotypic frequency of lurik and plan were: 81.34% and 18.66%. The phenotypic frequency of silver and gold feather were 31,89%, and 68.11%.  The phenotypic frequencies of the comb shape single, pea, rose, and walnuts were 36%, 27,82%, 18,51% dan 17,67%. The population of Paguyaman chickens has a phenotype of colored feathers, the color feather pattern are wild, single comb, yellow shank color, and these characteristics are dominant compared to other characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine body size and body size of pre-age old goat breeds traditionally maintained in Kabila Bone District, Bone Bolango District and to find out the local goat maintenance system applied by farmers in Kabila Bone District, Bone Bolango District. The research material was local goat aged pre-age from 1 week to 10 weeks as many as 30 individuals. This study used a survey method. Retrieval of data by purposive sampling and sample determination by accidental sampling. The data obtained were analyzed by calculating the mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, regression equation, and growth rate between age and body size. Based on the statistical results, the average value obtained was 8.62 cm head length, 6.92 cm head width, 9.47 cm head height, 15.16 cm chest width, 19.94 cm chest inside, 34.25 cm shoulder height, chest circumference 33.49 cm, body length 34.36 cm, canon circumference 6.31 cm and body size increase between age and head length is 0.056 cm.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the performance of the super native chicken and the optimal level of chicken intestine meal which can substitute fish meal in the feed ration. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments given were P0 = 10% fish meal + 0% chicken intestine meal in the feed rations, P1 = 7.5% fish meal + 2.5% chicken intestine meal in the feed rations, P2 = 5% fish meal + 5% chicken intestine meal in the feed rations, P3 = 2.5% fish meal + 7.5% chicken intestine meal in the feed ration, P4 = 0% fish meal + 10% chicken intestine meal in the feed ration. The number of super native chickens used in this study was 100 chickens. The results showed that giving chicken intestine meal as a substitute for fish meal in the feed ration had no significant effect (P 0.05) on feed ration consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio of super native chicken. It can be concluded that giving chicken intestine meal as a substitute for fish meal in the feed ration gives the same performance. Chicken intestine meal can substitute or replace fish meal up to a level of 10% in the feed ration super native chicken.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the use of beluntas leaf flour in rations on the performance of male local ducks. The research was conducted in the Tondo, subdistrict Mantikulore, for 6 weeks, using 80 DOD local male. The study was design using CRD with 4 treatmens and 5 replication. The treatment given was percentage of beluntas leaf flour in the ration, namely P0: ration without the addition of beluntas leaf flour, P1: 2% beluntas leaf flour, P2: 2,5% beluntas leaf flour, P3: 3% beluntas leaf flour. The analysis was used analysis of variance. The results showedthat treatments had a significant effect on ration consumption, had avery significant effect on body weight gain, ration konvertion and  income over feed costof male local ducks. The use of beluntas leaf flour up to level of 3%in the ration give the best results on growth performance, ration convertion and Income Over Feed Costof male local ducks.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the organoleptic value of salty taste in eggs soaked in salt solution with different soaking times. The materials used in this study were 90 eggs, rubbing ash and crust salt (table salt). The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters observed in this study were the organoleptic value and salinity level. The results showed that the duration of soaking eggs in a salt solution had a significant effect on the organoleptic value and salinity of the eggs (P 0.05) on the organoleptic value and the salinity level of the panelists preferred the results of soaking in a salt water solution with a long soaking time of 12 days.

Abstract

Composting of organic waste into compost can be accelerated by using EM4. The nutrients can be obtained from carbohydrate sources, sugar cane, sugar, and brown sugar. This study aimed to determine the quality of Indian almond leaves compost with the addition of carbohydrate sources, sugar cane water, sugar, and brown sugar. The study employed a qualitative descriptive to describe the quality of the compost which refers to the National Compost Standard (SNI: 19-7030-2004). The results showed that the quality of the compost with the addition of the aforementioned carbohydrates sources has a C/N ratio value that exceeds the National Compost Standard (SNI: 19-7030-2004). Meanwhile, other characteristics such as temperature, pH, humidity, texture, color, and smell had met the requirements of the National Compost Standard (SNI: 19-7030-2004). The most effective source of carbohydrates for producing quality compost was brown sugar.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of giving different colors of light on carcass percentage and carcass weight in Kampung Super chickens. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). A total of 80 Kampung Super chickens were used in this study. The research treatments were P1 (white light color), P2 (yellow light color), P3 (green light color), P4 (red light color), P5 (blue light color). The results of the study of the highest carcass presentation were found in the treatment that was given red light with an average value of 62.455%. The highest carcass weight was found in the same treatment, which was given a red light with an average value of 674.75 g/head. The provision of different light colors did not have a significant effect on the carcass percentage and carcass weight of the finisher phase super free-range chicken.
