Abstract

Agricultural’s potential sometimes have not maximally utilized because of several plants that have health effects such as moringa, pegagan/gotu kola, and cocoa. Communities in Padukuhan Gunungasem, Salaran, and Soka, Ngoro-oro, Patuk, Gunung Kidul still have limited knowledge and skills related to processing these plants. The purpose of this community service were to give counseling about food safety Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), train the the making of tea bags healthy drinks,and train the packaging and labels of tea bags. The method used was training and hands-on practice. The program implementation team consisted of UAD Food Service Industry UAD’s lecturer and Public Health students. The activity was held in one of the residents’ house or the village head’s house. The results of community service were the knowledge about food safety increased, skills in making Moringa, “pegagan”, cocoa leaf teabags and in packaging and making tea bag labels also increased.

Abstract

At the Dheary Sicker company, there are various problems due to the Covid19 pandemic, in addition to decreasing their income, there is also a lack ofconcern for prevention regarding Covid- 19. This is a background for theholding of education regarding the application of health protocols in theworkplace because in the workplace many people go in and out to carry outeconomic activities. The method used in dealing with these problems is theThematic KKN Back To Village University of Jember with the Educationwork program regarding the rules of Health Protocol in the workplace suchas mandatory use of masks, washing hands, and maintaining a safe distance.In addition, to expand the market share in the cutting sticker business so thatit remains in the midst of the Covid pandemic, among others, by conductingonline promotions using digital sites such as WA and FB, and Shopee tomarket their products. Furthermore, regarding labeling training on productsand finally performance evaluation.

Abstract

Oral and dental health education aims to increase knowledge that leads to better dental and oral health behaviors. Parents play an important role in children's behavior to maintain dental and oral health. Lack of behavior to maintain healthy teeth can be caused by low knowledge of dental and oral health. This activity aim to provide dental and oral health education to parents of students in Taam Avicenna Surabaya playgroup. This activity was carried out by providing dental health education media such as flipcharts, posters, and dental phantoms. Then post-test was given to the participants. Questionnaires regarding the behavior of maintaining dental and oral health were also given. The results showed that the understanding of parents with good categories was more than those with moderate and low categories. This means that some parents can receive dental health education well. Providing dental health education has a positive impact on understanding and knowledge of dental and oral health in parents. It can be concluded that by giving dental health education for parents of students in Taam Avicenna Surabaya playgroup, could enhance understanding and knowledge of dental and oral health so that it could help parents to improve behavior in oral and dental health.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a condition that reflects the balance between nutrient intake and nutrient needs for body metabolism. Malnutrition is still a priority for national health development. Malnutrition in children causes growth and development problems and affects the quality of resources. The risk of malnutrition can occur to the students at the Islamic boarding school because they do not live and are cared for by their parents. Therefore, this community service focuses on screening and anticipating calorie deficiency in elementary school students. Ash Sholihah Islamic Boarding School is a boarding school in Sleman Regency with simple facilities. The number of boarding school students is approximately 700 male and female students, consisting of elementary to high school students. Elementary school students need more attention because they cannot take care of themselves and maintain food intake properly. The results of the anthropometric examination of 198 children showed that 166 (83.6%) were underweight, 24 (12.1%) had ideal body weight, and 8 (4.04%) were overweight. The results of the mini nutritional assessment (MNA) questionnaire screening showed 10 (5.1%) malnutrition, 165 (83.3%) risk of malnutrition, 8 (4%) good nutrition, and 15 (7.6%) unknown. The service activities were continued with medical examinations and administration of drugs if necessary. Then carried out education and provision of additional calories to 166 children with underweight. Dormitory administrators are involved in supervising the implementation of additional nutrition. Additional intake given is a preparation equivalent to 100 kcal/day for each child as modified Formula 100.

Abstract

The three parts of the ear are the external ear, middle ear, and inner ear. The ear contains cerumen, a natural material that protects the external ear canal. Proper ear hygiene and health are essential to prevent ear infections, ear ringing, hearing loss, and sudden deafness. In addition to improper ear cleaning, other factors might contribute to ear disorders, including the misuse of personal listening devices. SD Muhammadiyah Sapen students would be educated on the significance of maintaining ear health through this service project. This community service activity is conducted online via mini-webinars or counseling using zoom meetings, presentations, educational films, and brochures on how to maintain ear health. This extension is quasi-experimental, with a pre-and post-test design involving a single group, utilizing the Paired Samples T-Test model for data analysis. The activity commences with a pre-test administered to students, continues with the presentation of information, discussion, and question-and-answer sessions, and concludes with a post-test designed to assess students' level of knowledge and the activity's success. Twenty students participated in this community service event. Conclusion: There is a significant difference between the average pre-test and post-test scores with a p-value of 0.01 (0.05).

Abstract

During the covid 19 pandemic, Gamping Lor did not hold activities that risk causing crowds in order to avoid the transmission of covid 19, thus they didn’t do any activity. This condition will worsen public health conditions, which are vulnerable to exposure to NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases). In Indonesia, the number of people with DM (Diabetes mellitus) is estimated to increase by 2 times in 2030. The purpose of this service is to conduct screening for early detection of diabetes and hypertension in vulnerable communities of Gamping Lor. The method used is counseling and examination practice. The results of the activity there were 68 participants consisting of women 89.7% men 11.3%. with a picture of the following conditions; Hypertension, 35.3% prehypertension 27.3%, Normal 29.4%, Low 7.3%; hyperglycemia 15.2%, hypoglycemia, 4.5%, normal 83.3%; BMI status; Thin 11.11%, ideal,22.22%, Overweight, 20.6% Obesity level 1 , 34.9%; obesity grade 2; 11.11%. Participants with high hypertension conditions, but more normal sugar levels. Participants overweight to obesity are higher than the ideal and thin. Conclusion : Service I I went well according to plan. More participants were affected by pre and hypertension, but normoglucose, on the other hand, experienced the most overweight and obesity. So it is important to do a diet and fat burning program according to age.

Abstract

Souvenir industry is the supporting aspect of tourism industry. As the one of creative economy industries, souvenir shows the characteristics of a region or a tourism place. This industry needs expertise and creativity, but there is an issue in the development of product variations with high expenses and the improvement of skills to create a product. The method to conduct this program is by conducting empowerment with participative and bottom-up approach. The participants are given electroforming training for souvenir industry. From the implementation of this program, the souvenir industry is given assistance through the training of electroforming technology to improve their creativity and souvenir production.Souvenir industry is the supporting aspect of tourism industry. Abstract

Background Blood service technicians must ensure that the blood to be used for the transfusion process is safe and quality blood. Hemoglobin examination is most of important to blood donation selection. Who will be to take blood donation its must to have hemglobin level is normal. That condition will be impact to quality of blood product. Objectif of this community service is to examination hemoglobin on cadres at RW 05 Patangpuluhan, Wirobrajan, Yogyakarta to improvement awarenes blood donation. Method of this community services is: the preparation and the implementation stage. The prapration stages include obtaining permits, preliminary studies with field observations, collecting materials and preparing tools and materials during activities and coordinating with cadres. Implementation stage are to check hemoglobin on cadres in Patangpuluhan Village. Result of this community service were 23 cadres who participated in the service activities. The results obtained were hemoglobin are Normal (34.79%), anemia (47.82%), polistemiavera (4.34%), refusel to examination (13.5%). Conclusions of 23 participants who hemoglobin examination mostly within normal limits.

Abstract

Muntilan is a sub-district in Magelang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, located 10 km from Mungkid district, 15 km from Magelang city, and 25 km from Yogyakarta city. Muntilan is on the provincial route connecting Semarang city, Magelang city, and Yogyakarta city. This community service activity is carried out as a form of concern for improving the health status of the community. This activity was held on 27th - 28th November 2019 in Muntilan Library and Archives Service, Magelang, Central Java. The targets of this activity are the residents of Muntilan and the staff of the Muntilan Library and Archives Service, Magelang, Central Java. This activity uses the method of providing information through health checks, fitness, and complementary therapies. This activity was attended by 151 people (71 people on 27th November 2019 and 80 people on 28th November 2019). The service team carried out health checks in the form of a health history, blood pressure checks, Temporary Blood Sugar, uric acid, height and weight checks, complementary therapy, health counseling, and fitness consultations.

Abstract

"Peyek Initomas," as a micro, small and medium enterprise (UMKM) in Kluwih Sub-Village, has decreased its income since the spread of the COVID19 pandemic. In addition, the small business also packs products that are too simple so that they are less attractive to consumers. Furthermore, the small business does not yet have a wide marketing and packaging label. UMY staff have several program activities to handle the difficulties in partnership with Student Real Work Lectures (KKN). First, the team socialized and trained small business owners to use social media for marketing their products. Second, the team assisted the small businessman in creating location points on Google Maps so that buyers, especially those outside the area, could easily find them. Third, the team assists the business owner in creating a "market place," including Instagram, Shopee, and the Balecatur Website to market their various products
