Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

Abstract

This study aims at (1) describing the learning achievement of students of FBS UNP Padang based on the entrance selection modes that they have followed, (2) examining the differences of the learning achievement of the students of FBS UNP Padang based on the entrance selection modes. This research used the causal comparative ex-post facto design. The data were analyzed with the ANOVA technique. The result of data analysis shows that there is a significant difference in the learning achievement of students of FBS UNP Padang based selection paths taken. The statistical result of Tukey's test shows that the average learning achievement of students from SPMB/SNMPTN program is significantly different from the average learning achievement of students from the Non-Regular program and track record achievement program. The average learning achievement of students from PMDK program is significantly different from the average learning achievement of students from the Non-Regular program. Abstract

Master of Ceremony (MC) is a person whose responsibellity is to see that formal social occasions are carried out properly. Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the results of Japanese error analysis research in Indonesia which always indicates on mother language interference factor and competency factor as the cause of error. Therefore, this study has a purpose to prove it and find the cause of language errors from the student side, that is the strategy that students do when producing language (modification doshi). The results of this study indicate that the cause of student error in modifying doshi there are three factors. These factors are performance, competence, and generalization factors (student strategy). Keywords: language production strategy, error, performance, competence, generalization.   STRATEGI PEMRODUKSIAN BAHASA YANG BERPOTENSI MEMUNCULKAN KESALAHAN: Kesalahan Modifikasi Doushi pada Tes Bunpo MahasiswaAbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena hasil-hasil penelitian analisis kesalahan berbahasa Jepang di Indonesia yang selalu mengindikasikan pada faktor interferensi bahasa ibu dan faktor kompetensi sebagai penyebab kesalahan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk membuktikannya dan menemukan penyebab kesalahan berbahasa dari sisi mahasiswa, yaitu strategi yang dilakukan mahasiswa ketika memroduksi bahasa (modifikasi doshi). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyebab kesalahan mahasiswa dalam memodifikasi doshi ada tiga faktor. Faktor tersebut adalah performansi, kompetensi, dan faktor generalisasi (strategi mahasiswa).Kata Kunci: strategi pemroduksian bahasa, error, performansi, kompetensi, generalisasi.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the elicitation techniques teachers use to interact in the classroom. This research is descriptive research. The subjects of the study were English teachers at SMAN 1 2x11 Kayutanam. The data were collected using video recordings and observations in four different classes. Conversation analysis is used to analyze and classify data. The research findings show that there are five elicitation techniques used by teachers. The technique is to ask using pictures, texts, dialogues, body language and techniques designed by the teacher himself. Asking to use dialogue is a technique most often used by teachers to ask students. In addition, inquiring using body language is very rarely used by teachers. In the use of elicitation techniques, teachers use several types of questions. The questions consist of yes / no questions, closed questions and open questions. In its use, English teachers ask more yes / no questions and closed questions, while open questions are rarely used. Student responses to elicitation techniques used by teachers are dominated by simple or short answers. Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that teachers tend to use one same elicitation technique at each meeting so that the process of interaction in the classroom is still dominated by the teacher.

Abstract

This research article aims to explain and describe the relevance of novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 with literary learning materials in high school. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with the object of research in the form of novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy that is Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Technique of data collecting using purposive sampling technique according to subject matter. Data analysis techniques in this study are interactive models, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The conclusions are based on deductive techniques, which is to explain in general to the specific facts as the final conclusion. The result of this study is that it can be used as a literary learning material in SMA based on story structure and moral values that can be followed by studying students according to curriculum requirement. Kajian ini merupakan kajian deskriptif kualitatif dengan objek penelitian berupa novel karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy yaitu Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pusposive sampling sesuai dengan pokok permasalahan yang dikaji. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah model interaktif, meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Simpulan dibuat berdasarkan teknik deduktif, yaitu menjelaskan secara umum menuju fakta-fakta khusus sebagai simpulan akhir. Hasil dari kajian penelitian ini adalah dapat dijadikanya novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 sebagai materi pembelajaran sastra di SMA berdasarkan struktur cerita dan nilai moral yang dapat diteladani siswa dengan mengkajinya sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum. Abstract

Junior high school SATAP Sungai Bertam set KKM indonesian language subject class IX of 78 with the provisions of 100% complete, still very many students who have not reached completeness, the purpose of this research is to increase learning outcome in indonesian language subject in class IX. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles with two learning meetings, which includes: planning, implementation, and reflection, 26 study subjects consisted of 12 males and 14 females, Data collection techniques used a written assessment, observations in the form of indicators of teacher and student success, the results showed that on the pre cycle of percentage of student learning outcomes that is 35%, with the highest 79, the lowerst 50, and the average 66,58, in the first cycle increased by a percentage 73%, with the highest 80, the lowerst 65, and the average 76,27, then in the second cycle is 100% complete with the highest 85, the lowest 80, and the average score 82,81. Based on these results, it can be concluded that inquiry learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade IX students in indonesian languange subjects at Junior high school SATAP Sungai Bertam.

Abstract

AbstractA great number of teachers apply various approaches in the way they teach discourse analysis. One of those are known as text-based approach, which allows the learners to explore and interact with the texts in purpose to acquire comprehensive understanding about the texts. In this paper, the writer attempts to review some literatures dealing with text-based approach as well as to qualitatively report the reflection of teaching practice done by the writer in the field of discourse analysis by using text-based approach. This present study belongs to descriptive qualitative study. The participants of the study were six master students who study in different universities in Yogyakarta. The result of the study showed that use of text-based approach, presumably, was able to improve the learners’ ability in analyzing discourse. Keywords: Text-Based Approach, Discourse Analysis, Teaching Reflection, English Language Teaching and Learning. AbstrakBanyak guru-guru menerapkan berbagai macam pendekatan di dalam pengajaran analisis wacana mereka. Satu di antaranya dikenal sebagai pendekatan berbasis teks, yang memungkinkan siswa untuk bereksplorasi dan berinteraksi dengan teks dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang luas terkait dengan teks tersebut. Di dalam artikel ini, penulis mencoba untuk mengulas beberapa literatur-literatur yang terkait dengan pendekatan berbasis teks dan juga melaporkan secara kualitatif refleksi hasil praktek mengajar yang dilakukan oleh penulis dalam ruang lingkup analisis wacana dengan menggunakan pendekatan berbasis teks. Studi dewasa ini tergolong ke dalam studi deskriptif kualitatif. Peserta studi ini adalah enam mahasiswa magister yang berkuliah di universitas yang berbeda di Yogyakarta. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan berbasis teks, kiranya, mampu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menganalisis wacana.Kata kunci: Pendekatan Berbasis Teks, Analisis Wacana, Refleksi Pengajaran, Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This article discusses activities of the lessons that can be done in the classrooms to teach English as a local content at Elementary Schools in West Sumatera based on whole language approach and philosophy. The lessons should be proceeded from whole to parts, learner centered, meaningful for the students now, engage groups in social interaction, develop both oral and written language, and show faith in the learners expand their potential. The activites use literature based materials that provide learning through meaningful interaction by interconnecting of four language skills or modes of communication- Ilistening, speaking, reading, and writing. The skills are taught in context, the materials are organized and studied arround theme. There are group, paired, and independent activities for the students to achieve the objective.

Abstract

Tujuan pelatihan menulis teks cerpen ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model picture and picture terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabaris Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Jenis kegiatam ini adalah pembinaan dan pelatihan yang bersifat kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dengan design  One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Jumlah populasi 247 peserta didik, sedangkan untuk pelatihan ini dipilih siswa kelas VII.6 SMP Negeri Nan Sabaris jumlah 30 peserta didik  yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Ada dua variable dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini, yaitu keterampilan keterampilan menulis teks cerpen peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture.Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes unjuk kerja. Data kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah skor hasil tes keterampilan menulis teks cerpen  peserta didik  kelas VII SMP Negeri  2 Nan Sabaris sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture.Ada tiga hasil yang ditemukan melalui kegiatan pelatihan ini, yaitu: (1) keterampilan menulis teks cerpenpeserta didik kelas VII.6 SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabaris Kabupaten Padang Pariaman sebelum menggunakan model picture and picture berada pada kualifikasi Cukup (C) dengan rata-rata 61,94; (2) keterampilan menulis teks cerpen peserta didik  siswa SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabaris sesudah menggunakan model picture and pictureberada pada kualifikasi Baik (B) dengan rata-rata 81,53; dan (3) keterampilan menulis teks cerpen  siswa  SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabaris Kabupaten  Padang Pariaman sesudah dilatih dengan menggunakan model picture and picturelebih baik daripada sebelum menggunakan model picture and picture. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan yang diberikan dengan menggunakan model picture and pictureterhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen peserta SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabarais Kabupaten Padang Pariaman karena nilai thitung>ttabel(7,10> 1,70). Maksudnya adalah keterampilan menulis teks peserta didik  SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabaris Kabupaten  Padang Pariaman sesudah dilakukan pelatihan dengan menggunakan model picture and picture  lebih baik dibandingkan keterampilan menulis teks cerpen peserta didik   kelas VII.6  SMP Negeri 2 Nan Sabarais Kabupaten  Padang Pariaman sebelum menggunakan model picture and picture.Dengan demikian, model picture and picture dapat diterapkan dalam pembinaan dan pelatihan keterampilan menulis teks cerpen.
