Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

In general, the culture of society places women second, while the top hierarchy is occupied by men. This revealed that women were still marginalized. The role of women is not only the main character that must be under the men but also has the same rights struggle without involving gender. Many people still hold a strict patriarchal culture so as to produce gender biased decisions and attitudes that affect women's struggle to achieve equal positions. The existence of these problems can be built by the woman with the culture represented in the Kalamata novel with the role of the woman playing the role of the mastermind. This study aims to describe the overall values of feminism in the involvement of women in cultural aspects. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach to feminism. Source of data is a collection of stories in a novel entitled Kalamata written by Ni Made Purnama Sari. Data analysis included descriptions performed after data collection, data interpretation, and data inference. The results of the study are discussed in the attitudes of women leaders in culture, the influence of women leaders on cultural development, the role of women leaders in education and the problem of women leaders in cultural preservation.

There is a missing subject in the conversations on Indonesian cyberliterature. This case study research identifies academic conversations on cyberliterature in Indonesia. Literature review using articles written by Indonesian academia is used to build an assumption on the discursive development of cyberliterature in Indonesia which misses electronic literature. The assumption is then verified with the data collected from one-shot method survey. The survey using two simple questions targeted Indonesian lecturers from several universities in Java, Sumatera, and Kalimantan. Qualitative content analysis is used to describe our findings. The analysis reveals that Indonesian academia conversations on cyberliterature only focus on digital publishing and the freedom of expression offers by the presence of the internet. The conversations on cyberliterature by Indonesian academia have not really covered electronic literature and how it may develop in the Indonesian literary context.

This study aims to describe the level of validity of the evaluation instruments contained in the electronic school textbook (BSE) of Indonesian language textbooks for class IX in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research uses a qualitative approach. Determination of the sample in this study was conducted purposively, namely sampling by determining specific characteristics that are in accordance with the objectives of the study so that it is expected to answer the research problem. The sample in this study is in the form of an experimental report evaluation instrument. The validity data of the evaluation instruments collected included the material, construction, and language domains. The percentage of validity level is done by dividing the number of valid or invalid instruments by the number of validity criteria then multiplied by one hundred. Based on the research that has been done it can be known, that the evaluation instrument about writing a trial report has not fully fulfilled the validity element. The validity level of the evaluation instrument from the material domain is 25%, the construction realm is 68%, and the validity from the realm of language is 92%. The results of this study can be used as one of the foundations for evaluating and improving the quality of BSE Indonesian textbooks.

Syair Sidi Djamadi is one of the old literary legacies of the Minangkabau which contains interesting lessons and knowledge to know. One of the things that can be expressed in these verses is the cultural dimension. The purpose of this study is to describe the cultural dimension in Sidi Djamadi's poetry. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research object is the cultural dimension and the research subject of Sidi Djamadi's poetry. The results of this study indicate that Sidi Djamadi's poetry is not only identical with religious advice and advice, but also contains a cultural dimension that can describe the Minangkabau people. The dominant cultural dimension is the uncertainty / avoidance aspect. This illustrates that the Minangkabau people tend to choose in safe / normal conditions rather than do something that is not clear or its usefulness is not yet known. Apart from that, the cultural dimensions that were found to be dominant were holding fast, uncertainty, avoiding and stopping the bad.

Indonesian Ministry of Health’s posting on Instagram to celebrate World No Tobacco Day 2020 could be categorized as a multimodal discourse to convey a particular message. This research analyzed the messages and ideologies conveyed by the posting with Systemic Functional Linguistic theory by (Halliday & Matthiessen, 2013) for the textual part and multimodality theory by (Kress & van Leeuwen, 2006) for the visual part. By using both theories, the construction of the discourse coherence from the textual and visual parts could be observed. This research found that the posting conveys several ideologies: there is a higher possibility for a man to become a smoker; smoke is a bad thing; electronic media could persuade kids and teenagers to smoke; electronic media could be used to give education about the negative impact of smoking. Ideologies and meanings from each component of the discourse build a coherent piece of information and persuasion for No Tobacco campaign.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning yang dirancang untuk pengembangan media pembelajaran yang valid, praktis, efektif, efisien serta interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Four-D yaitu terdiri dari define, design, develop, dan desenmination. Data yang digunakan data primer, data yang langsung dari sumbernya yaitu antara lain pakar sebagai ahli validasi data yang valid, pendidik dan peserta didik. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari pengembangan media sebagai alat yang dapat dimanfaat dalam proses belajar mengajar secara daring. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan (1) Hasil efektifitas yang diperoleh dari perbandingan pretest dan postes terhadap peserta didik dalam meningkatkan ketuntasan dalam belajar sebesar 50%. (2) Hasil praktikalitas yang diperoleh dari Respon dosen terhadap media yang dikembangkan berbasis elearning sebesar 95 % dinyatakan “sangat praktis” sedangkan respon mahasiswa terhadap media yang dikembangkan berbasis elearning sebesar 83% dinyatakan “sangat praktis”. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis elearning ini valid, praktis serta efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of guided training techniques in learning creative writing through whatsapp media during the corona pandemic (covid-19). The population in this study were students of the Indonesian language and literature education study program, Sanata Dharma University totaling 17 people who took creative writing classes. The method used in this research is experiment. Researchers use quasi-experimental methods or pre-experimental design. The experimental design used in this study is one-group pretest-posttest design. Researchers only use one group without requiring a comparison group. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the study note that the learning of creative writing using guided training techniques through whatsapp media is carried out according to the principles and characteristics of interactive learning. Then there are differences in the average value between pretest and posttest. Posttest value is greater than pretest (75.05> 66.58). This shows that the use of guided training techniques in learning creative writing through whatsapp media is effective. Keyword: effectiveness, guided training techniques, whatsapp media, creative writing AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan teknik latihan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran menulis kreatif melalui media whatsapp. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia, Universitas Sanata Dharma berjumlah 17 orang yang mengikuti kelas menulis kreatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Peneliti menggunakan metode eksperimen semu atau pre-Experimental design. Desain eksperimen yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu one-group pretest-posttest design. Peneliti hanya memakai satu kelompok tanpa memerlukan kelompok pembanding. Sementara itu, teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pembelajaran menulis kreatif menggunakan teknik latihan terbimbing melalui whatsapp dilakukan sesuai prinsip pembelajaran interaktif. Kemudian terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata antara pretes dan postes. Nilai postes lebih besar daripada pretes (75,05 > 66,58). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik latihan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran menulis kreatif melalui media whatsapp efektif. Distance learning is a challenge in the implementation of health education. The Government of Indonesia recommends the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka policy which carries the concept of active learning to be implemented at the college level, including health education. In connection with this, the studies of active learning models in the context of medical education during the COVID-19 period has not been widely reviewed. Therefore, this study aims to explore the implementation of active learning model in English for Professional Nurses subject in a nursing study program in one of the universities in Indonesia. This research employed descriptive research design with qualitative approach. The subject of this study was 1 lecturer. Data and its collection techniques were the learning activities data taken using observations and interviews. The results of this study showed that active learning model can be implemented in asynchronous learning. This research is expected to give overview of active learning in higher education context.

This study aims to describe the mastery of aesthetic and efferent aspects in understanding coffee discourse and its impact on the ability of exploratory procedures for prospective Indonesian language teacher students. The study was applied to 14 students who practice teaching or KK-PLP II at SMK Negeri 2 and SMK 4 Jember. The research method is applied qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of qualitative analysis show mastery of aesthetic aspects consisting of culture and experience of research subjects on planting to serving coffee and efferent aspects about factual, informational, and conceptual knowledge about planting to serving coffee. The results of quantitative analysis were obtained by 1) normality test data on the ability of aesthetic aspects, efferent, and the ability of exploratory procedures; (2) multiple linear regression test; (3) the significance of the regression coefficient test to show the significant impact of understanding aesthetic and efferent aspects on the ability of exploratory procedures. From the multiple linear regression test, it is known that the understanding of the aesthetic aspect (X1) is 0.001 or ,00.05 and the understanding of the efferent aspect is 0.012 or ≤0.05. Thus, understanding the aesthetic and efferent aspects significantly impacts the ability of exploratory procedures in the learning process.

The abstract is an important part of a research article; it is a research summary that must be attached, presented together with the research article. Therefore, the quality of an abstract is explicitly significant. This article aims to determine the similarities and differences of the rhetorical moves and linguistic features of abstracts of local, national, and international journals by Indonesian authors in the field of English language teaching. The method used is descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods or mix-methods by analyzing the communicative objectives and linguistic features of the abstract parts of research articles. The results show that the majority of Ijal abstracts have five moves while the majority of Edu-Ling abstracts have only three moves. In general, active sentences are used more dominantly used than passive sentences in all moves of all three groups of abstracts, and present tense is far more frequently used in Ijal and Teflin abstracts but past tense is more frequently used in Edu-Ling abstracts while that-complement clause in Move-4 of Ijal abstracts is the most frequently used among the three groups of abstracts. It can also be concluded that Teflin article abstracts are more similar to those of Ijal articles than to Edu-Ling articles in all aspects. This is probably because Teflin authors are more experienced in writing journal articles than those of Edu-Ling articles.
