Abstract

Child labor (school-age children already working) in tourist areas is a common phenomenon today. This study aims to determine the role of schools in the education of child workers. The study was conducted using a qualitative case study method. The analysis unit targeted by the study was teachers and principals. Subjects were taken using purposive sampling and informant determination using snowball sampling. Observation, interviews, and documentation were carried out in data collection. The data analysis used data analysis developed by Cresswel, namely Spiral analysis. The results of the study showed that children who became child workers received the same education for schools, schools provided the same services and guidance to child workers, and always offered continuous motivation to get an education, in addition to facilitating by lending textbooks to be taken home so that they could be studied in between work activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the behavior of high school K-Pop and K-Drama fans in Mataram city and to examine the impact of K-Pop and K-Drama on these students' behavior. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques include observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The study involves nine main subjects and two informants, selected based on their status as fans of the Korean Wave or K-Pop. The findings indicate that the behavior of high school K-pop and K-drama fans in Mataram city is evident in a) the knowledge domain, where students watch and observe their idols both directly and indirectly through social media or television; b) the attitude domain, where students admire actors, actresses, or idol groups and follow their idols' activities, feeling motivated to emulate their idols and adopting their personalities; c) the skills domain, where students use Korean language phrases, dress in Korean-inspired fashion, and participate in Korean events and communities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the challenges faced by sociology teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum at MAN 2 Mataram. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Both primary and secondary data were utilized in the study. The main subjects were sociology teachers at MAN 2 Mataram, while additional informants included the Vice Principal for Academic Affairs and the Madrasah Supervisor. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis process followed Creswell’s (2014) qualitative analysis steps: (1) organizing the data, (2) creating memos, (3) describing, categorizing, and interpreting the data into codes and themes, (4) interpreting the data, and (5) presenting and visualizing the findings. The results revealed several issues encountered by sociology teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum at MAN 2 Mataram. These included: a limited understanding of the core principles of the curriculum, challenges in designing teaching modules, a lack of creativity in selecting appropriate learning models or methods, and a continued reliance on outdated teaching practices.

Abstract

The village head election or pilkades is a process of succession of village leadership that is used as a democratic party for the village community to be able to actively participate in determining the government in accordance with the will of the people. Pilkades can have a positive impact on the community, but it is not uncommon for it to cause negative access in the form of conflicts and divisions in the community. The purpose of this study is to determine the background of the conflict in the Pilkades of Kembangan Village, Bonang Subdistrict, Demak Regency and to determine the form of conflict that occurred in the Pilkades of Kembangan Village, Bonang Subdistrict, Demak Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results showed that the conflict occurred suddenly when the community carried out democratic party activities for the election of village head candidates. The causes of the conflict were prejudice between the two candidates, regional differences, the gap between the old and young generations, and the conflict between pro-establishment and pro-change groups. The forms of conflict that occur are realistic and non-realistic conflicts.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) identify and analyze the community empowerment programs of Lombok Influencer, (2) understand and analyze the community empowerment strategies of Lombok Influencer in enhancing digital marketing in the city of Mataram. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this research use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of this study found that the Lombok Influencer community empowerment program includes: Skill training programs such as public speaking, voice over, start-up design, and digital creative skills training, as well as recognition and appreciation programs in the form of an influencer awarding night event. Then the community empowerment strategy of Lombok Influencer is building strong and authentic relationships through active interactions between management and community members in WhatsApp groups, organizing meetings with influencers; (2) providing resources and support in the form of skill training, community website provision, collaboration with business actors, community reward programs, (3) facilitating creative content in the form of freedom to create content concepts, and providing group digital marketing projects, (4) providing incentives in the form of community rate cards for commission distribution; (5) providing public recognition by promoting community members digital marketing content on social media, organizing influencer appreciation events. (6) performance monitoring in the form of controlling the progress of members performance.

Abstract

Sekolah Lansia Tangguh is a program organized by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) in collaboration with the Indonesia Age-Friendly  Foundation (IRL). The study aims to analyze the implementation of the Sekolah Lansia Tangguh program related to the empowerment of the elderly in the social and economic fields in Surodinawan Village, Mojokerto City and the impact of Sekolah Lansia Tangguh on the social and economy of its participants. This research method uses qualitative with a case study approach. Researchers collected data through in-depth interviews with administrators and participants in the Tangguh School for the Elderly, besides that researchers also collected data through literature studies and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Sekolah Lansia Tangguh implemented by Surodinawan Village has successfully contributed to the ability of the elderly to socialize in the community and improve social networks through mutual cooperation activities and playing games. However, economic empowerment in the form of planting kale, chilies and tomatoes has not gone well, the main obstacles are the lack of interest of the elderly in distribution, plants that die easily and limited business capital assistance from the village. This study concludes that Sekolah Lansia Tangguh has an important role in improving the quality of life of the elderly from the social aspect but has not been successful in the economic aspect.

Abstract

The edutainment approach is an integration of learning with games that can make learning more interactive and student-centered. This study aims to analyze the use of the Snakes and Ladders game to improve environmental literacy in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Jonggat. The research used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method, which was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes in the pretest stage of 53, cycle I (55.75), cycle II (74.25), cycle III (84.25), and post-test reached 85.25, with a total increase of 32.25 points. It can be concluded that the use of snakes and ladders games is effective in improving students' environmental literacy skills. It is recommended that game development includes a variety of challenges and more complex interactive elements, expanding game content, and the implementation of the game is optimally accompanied by the teacher to ensure maximum student involvement and the creation of meaningful learning.

Abstract

Literacy achievement in low-grade students (I, II, and III) is still not optimal, students have not fully completed literacy achievement according to the standards of each class. This study aims to determine the improvement of literacy achievement of low-grade elementary school students by using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) learning approach. The research was conducted using the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research data were obtained from observation results, learning outcome tests, and documentation of 97 students. The results showed significant developments in the aspects of teacher activity in teaching from 64.23 to 91.00, student literacy skills in Class I increased from 50.16 to 88.88, Class II increased from 58.76 to 88.50, and Class III increased from 60.08 to 89.15, as well as student responses to the use of the TaRL approach in learning. It can be concluded that the use of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach is effective in improving the literacy skills of low-grade elementary school students. It is recommended for educators to continue to innovate continuously in implementing the TaRL approach. This breakthrough can be a means to develop educators' creativity in improving their professionalism, which ultimately contributes to improving students' literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore digital transformation in rural areas through the provision of village WiFi network services in Krocok Village, Japah District, Blora Regency, which is managed by the Kerjaya Krasa Village-Owned Enterprise. The main problem studied is how digital transformation takes place and its impact on the socio-economic life of the community. This study uses a qualitative method with a naturalistic approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation of the activities of providing and utilizing village internet services. The results of the study show that village WiFi services contribute to increasing access to information, citizen productivity, and Village Original Income. The conclusion of this study states that digital transformation through village WiFi management is a strategic means of strengthening digital development and improving the welfare of rural communities. This study also found a number of challenges, such as limited network infrastructure in certain areas and the existence of community groups that do not fully understand digital technology.

Abstract

This study aims to inform the public about the political behavior of communities in remote areas, specifically the people of Maringkik Island. The main objective is to uncover the political behavior of the Maringkik Island community during the 2024 East Lombok Regional Head Election (Pilkada). This is a qualitative research using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted through five stages: compiling & organizing data, disassembling, interpreting, concluding, and verifyng .The findings reveal that in facing the 2024 East Lombok Pilkada, the people of Maringkik Island were more engaged in their daily routines as fishermen. They were largely unaffected by the political commotion surrounding the election. Although candidates and their campaign teams visited the island with promises of improving the residents’ quality of life. Coastal residents of Maringkik Island hold the perception that local elections have never brought substantial or positive changes to their socio-economic conditions. This perception shapes a political behavior that tends to be passive and apolitical. Nevertheless, they still participate in the election, although their choices are often based on pragmatic and emotional considerations. Ultimately, the people of Maringkik Island prioritize social harmony and maintaining strong social bonds over political differences. This reflects a political orientation that values social cohesion more than active involvement in electoral politics.
