Abstract

Students’ worksheet is one of learning media to help students in studying mathematics. The worksheet is based on guided discovery learning. It is aimed to get the students accostumed in inventing mathematics concept, therefore the worksheet can make it easier for the students to understand sequences and series material. Sequences and series is one of the essential materials tought in vocational school since it is often correlated to problem solving. In general, the students in vocational school lack of ability to do problem solving. This research used Plomp educational design research that consist of initial preliminary research, development or prototyping stage and assesment phase. The instrument used in this research was validation sheet of students’ worksheet. The aim of this research was to produce valid, practice and effective worksheet. The result of this research showed that the Guided Discovery Model worksheet on Sequences and Series was valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

Livestock Market of Palangki is included in Type A’s regional livestock markets and categorized as the largest in Central Sumatra. This market has its own uniqueness especially its transactional activity which is also known as “Marosok”. This paper was aimed to unveil the secret behind its presistence, until now. This study used a historical method. The result showed that Toke who did transaction in the market were not only from West Sumatera but many of them were also from outside of West Sumatera. Livestock market of Palangki has been surviving until today due to government’s role, marketing network between Toke ternak, market security and its strategic location.

Abstract

Understanding of the meaning in language to communicate is very important for language speakers. A speaker who does not understand the benefits of the language can lead to errors when communicating understanding. Moreover, the words used are synonyms. Some studies related to synonymy shows that different forms will have a different meaning. The purpose of this study is to explain the nuances of a transitive verb affixes meN-, -i partner meaning synonymous in Indonesian. This type of research is qualitative descriptive method. Of the 69 data obtained from various sources, there are six pairs of a transitive verb affixes meN-, -i synonymous. The results showed that: (a) not all transitive verbs affixes meN-, -i in Indonesian have a partner that is synonymous; (b) not found transitive verb affixes meN-, -i manifold absolute synonyms; (c) was found transitive verb affixes meN-, -i nuanced meaning both cognitive and emotive meaning. This means that not all of synonyms can be used to replace the partner. Speakers suggested to deepen in understanding the nuances of meaning in synonyms in order to choose the appropriate word.

Abstract

Student has a different level of aggressiveness, this was influenced by various factors one of them is gender. Aims of this research is to examine differences the aggressiveness students based on gender. The method was ex post facto with a 2 groups design. Thepopulation is 566 and samples were 234 students. Sampling technique used stratified random sampling.The instrument usedAggressiveness Scale, with reliability scoreis 0,936. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and anova. The results of this research show that there is a significant difference of aggressiveness in terms of gender. The implication of this research can be used as students need assessment to make improvement a program of guidance and counseling.

Abstract

The 2017 of Jakarta Election is not only enlivened by the comments of politicians and experts , but also followed by the general public in a critical, obscene, and massive way. This study aimed to reveal the ideology in public opinions about the discourse of Jakarta election at social media. This research used qualitative-descriptive approach with content analysis method, and based on the critical discourse analysis theory by Norman Fairclough. The result of the research showed (1) about 57.4% of public opinions represent ideology of Islamic religion by raising the issue of the importance of Aqeedah, Sharia, and morals for leaders, through vocabularies like the similar faith, fellow moeslems, humane, and dirt, (2) a number of 34.8% show the ideology of secularism with the issue of electing the government leaders not a religious leader through the use of vocabularies such as performance, don’t, clean, not corrupt; while (3) just 7.8% represent the ideology of liberalism with the issue such as no offense for the public to choose their leader through the use of vocabularies such as freedom, logical thinking, realistic, and common sense.

Abstract

Jakarta Election 2017 was a phenomenal one from many points of views including aspect of language use as political tool. Therefore, this study aims to describe the politeness level of politicians in the discourse of Jakarta election 2017 at online portal news. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive method. Analyzing the data was exercised by content analysis method with the application of language politeness theory from Brown-Levinson and Leech. Based on data analysis, politicians are more dominant to convey their ideas through a rhetorical style of irony, expressive speech acts, and vague strategies; they also tend to violate rather than adhere to the politeness principle so, it was ‘high potential’ to threaten the face of the intended person or party. Based on the findings of this research, the level of language politeness performed by politicians in Jakarta Election is represented in three divisions; about 48% of comments of the politicians are at an ‘impolite’, 15% are at ‘less polite’ level, and only 36% are in the ‘polite’ category.

Abstract

Every students have educational and occupational aspirations. The factors affecting the educational and occupational aspirations of students are cultural and gender. Aims of this research were to examine the differences educational and occupational aspirations between male and female of Batak Karo and Melayu Deli students. The population were 823 and samples 268 students. The instrument used the educational aspiration scale (R= 0,853) and occupational aspirations scale (R= 0,852). The data were analyzed by using MANOVA. The result of this research shows that there is not significant the difference on educational and occupational aspirations between Batak Karo and Melayu Deli students, there was significant difference on educational and occupational aspirations between Batak Karo male and female students, there was significant differences on educational aspirations between Melayu Deli male and female students and there was not significant difference on occupational aspirations.

Abstract

The school management can mean everything pertaining to the management of the educational process to achieve the stated goals, both short-term goals, medium, or long-term goals. The purpose of term goal of this research was to determine the school management to improve the quality of education, to include: (1) Planning school programs; (2) The implementation of school programs and (3) Barriers faced. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Subjects were principals, supervisors and teachers in primary schools Boarding School Jar Pidie district. Research results found: (1) planning school programs, (2) The implementation of school programs, and (3) Barriers in planning school programs. It is expected that supervisors in order to direct and supervise principals in improving the quality of education on school program planning, program implementation and obstacles faced by appropriate, effective and efficient so that the quality of education in the schools can be improved.

Abstract

A number of technology usage is very high in the last four years around the world, specifically Indonesia. Based on e-marketer survey, since 2014, Indonesia is standing on number six, with number of 88 million people in Indonesia are using Electronic Commerce and continuously increase every year. The purpose of this paper is to know the effect of innovation on technology in purpose of using Electronic Commerce. Electronic Commerce means a transaction of sell and buy product and services through electronic system, such as smartphones, laptops, and netbooks. Internet is the most factor to have online transaction. Electronic Commerce is divided into four types, which are: Business to Business (B2B), Business to Consumer (B2C), Consumer to Consumer (C2C) and Consumer to Business (C2B). In conclude, online transaction make a business become easier and fast.

Abstract

Study skill is the skill acquired by training student and learning can Enhance independence. In fact, there are many students who have not good study skill. Achievement motivation is one of the factors that prediction students study skill. The purpose of this research is to examine the contribution of achievement motivation toward study skill. This research used quantitative with descriptive correlation method. The population of this research is 625 and 244 samples of guidance and counseling majors students, UniversitasNegeri Padang. The instruments of the research used the Likert scale model, value of reliability are 0.841 and 0.842. The Data were Analyzed with simple regression. The result of this research shows that there is a contribution (25.2%) of achievement motivation toward study skill.
