Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of time management to student academic procrastination, contribution of locus control to student academic procrastination, and contribution of time management and locus of control to academic procrastination of UMSU Medan students. Types of quantitative research correlational approaches. The population are 180 undergraduate students of UMSU Medan. Sample 124 people with stratified proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is Likert scale. The reabilty of instrument 0,955. Research data were analyzed by simple regression and multiple regression. The result of the research shows that the ability of time management with medium category, the tendency locus of control with medium category, low academic procrastination level, time management contribute significantly to academic procrastination, locus of control contribute significantly to academic procrastination, time management and locus of control jointly contribute 20,6% significantly to the academic procrastination of students at UMSU Medan.

Abstract

Career planning is important in the career development of students. Students in achieving careers often experience obstacles, for it takes an effort to overcome them. Student's perceptions on Majors are the factor that allegedly affects student's career planning. This study aims to describe the contribution of student's perceptions on majors toward student’s career planning. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive method. The population was 380 and the sample was 195 students. The instrument about student’s perception on majors and student's career planning used Likert scale model with reliability 0.957. Data were analyzed using simple regression technique. The result shows that student's perception on majors was positive and student’s career planning in the high category. There is a contribution (33.6%) of student's perception on majors towards student’s career planning.

Abstract

Public perception of early marriage has many variations. The education level is factors which influence it. Aims of this research are to description’s differences public perception of early marriage based on education level. The method was ex-post facto with a threedesign. The population is the community of Sidojadi, Kecamatan Bukit Malintang, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, consists of 888 people and samples were 276 people. The instrumentis a perception of public about early mirage by using Likert scale model andreliability test is 0.910. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The result of this research shows that there is a significant difference of public perception about early marriage based on the education level.

Abstract

Adolescence need to understand and maintain their reproductive health. However, not all adolescents understand and able to maintain their reproductive health. Therefore it is necessary to reference the maintenance and development of adolescent reproductive health.The purposes of this research are to produce the guidance and counseling moduleabout senior high school teenager’s reproductive health which is valid andusable. The method of this research is the development research which used the ADDIE model(Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).The subject of this research consists of 6 experts and 40 school counselors. The results of this research show that the guidance and the counseling moduleabout senior high school teenager’s reproductive health is valid and usable to be used by school counselor to improve the understanding and prevent the problems in teenager’s reproductive.

Abstract

Assertive behavior has an important role for students as a means of control in performing an action and the ability to express emotions appropriately. Students who are not assertive, indicated resources by reviews their dependence on the environment, lack of understanding of reviews their needs, and difficult, to say 'no', so easily affected and carriedaway in negative environments. Therefore, students need to be given understanding and training from professionals. One of the which is a counselor through guidance and counseling services to direct and help develop student assertive behavior in order to live a better life in the future. This paper discusses the basic concepts of assertive behavior and the role of counselors to assist students in developing assertive behaviors.

Abstract

Students faced the difficulty in understanding concept and interpreting of direction of a transformed geometry object, especially translation context. To solved this students difficulty need mathematics learning media which able to clarify translation context and provide them opportunities to learn actively. The aim of this research to know the characteristics and description of mathematics learning media of based computer which is should be valid, practical and effective on translation context in improving the students learning outcomes and their activities. This research wasusingresearch development which apply Plomp model. This model consist of three phase namely initial preliminary research, development or prototyping stage and assessment phase. This research found that mathematics learning media of based computer was valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

Many sexual abuses happened on children. Because of their ignorance, children did not realize that they became victims. Teachers are responsible for providing this information to children. The training aimed to provide kindergarten teachers on how to apply sex education in early childhood at schools especially in Lubuk Basung. The methods used in this training were lectures, questions and answers, concerning three materials: Urgency of Sex Education since early age, Sex education material and Implementation of Sex Education. There were several positive outcomes; Participants showed high enthusiasm on the materials taught, Participants understood the need and urgency of sex education from an early age and Participants were able to include materials for young learners in the learning activitie.

Abstract

This study aims to describe religious values, and moral values in Boikot short story by Putu Wijawa, and the relevance of this study to Indonesian language learning in schools. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. Descriptive method is used to analyze and describe the educational value of Boikot short story by Putu Wijaya. The data source in this research is Boikot short story by Putu Wijaya. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that the Boikot short story by Putu Wijaya's work there are religious values, and moral values. This research can be utilized as learning materials of short story of high school grade XI, especially understand extrinsic element.

Abstract

The open economic system adopted by Indonesia disrupts the current account balance. This study aims to analyze and explained the causality of the current account balance with macroeconomic variables using the VAR (Vector Autoregression) approach. The data in this study used time series from 2005 quarter 1 to 2015 quarter 4. The results showed that macroeconomic variables have no causality relationship with current account balance in Indonesia. The research recommended to the financial policy authority relates to fluctuation macroeconomic variables for a policy-making basis on the current account balance in Indonesia, because the current account balance is one of the parameters for the performance of a country's economy.

Abstract

Quasi experimental research with 2x2 factorial was designed to describe the influence of method-based context toward reading interest in writing skills. It was assumed that reading interest played an important role in writing and based approaches context would make it easier for students to produce their writing. The results shown that generally there were differences on students' writing product outcomesat SMKN-2 Sawahlunto with CTL (experiment) and conventional approaches (control), both that had high or low reading interest. In addition, there was a connection between approaches in learning and reading interest on students' success in writing exposition text. CTL approach affected high writing skill and reading interest. It is suggested that students' interest in reading is a concern to support writing exposition text.
