Abstract

This article describes environmental conservation based on local wisdom in Desa Baru Pusat Jalo from the perspective of religion, management and science. Based on interviews and observations. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design with a focus on local wisdom in Lubuk Ban, including adherence to customary law. This article shows that the new central church has local wisdom in Lubuk Ban. Lubukban was established based on a Village Protection Agreement, which was later confirmed in Village Regulations and Government Decrees. The existence of Lubuk Ban in the new village center of Jalo aims to improve the community's economy, protect the river and fish ecosystems that flow into the river. The governance of the existence of Lubuk Ban is contained in customary rules and is also based on Islamic religious teachings. If the community violates it, it will be subject to applicable law. Environmental conservation in the new village center of Jalo is an effort by the local community to protect nature from environmental damage.

Abstract

The flat-headed cat is categorized as a threatened species by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). As the beginning of a conservation strategy for species that are difficult to find in nature, knowing the actual distribution of species in the field is important. Maximum entropy (Maxent) has emerged as an accurate prediction method for species distribution. This study aimed to analyze the distribution of flat-headed cats and important variables affecting their distribution in the Riau Ecosystem Restoration (RER) area on the Kampar Peninsula, Riau. A total of 6 finding points and 17 environmental variables were used in the modeling of this study. The Area Under Curve (AUC) value of the flat-headed cats was 0.890, indicating that the model performance was categorized as satisfactory. High habitat suitability was predicted ≥ 19% or (24,736.83 ha) of the total area. Environmental variables that influenced their distribution were distance from trails, distance from canals, and distance from rivers. The high suitability of the flat-headed cats’ habitat in the PT GCN concession is potentially along the Sangar River. In the PT SMN concession in the central and northwestern parts of the concession. PT TBOT concession is in areas adjacent to the Turip and Serkap Rivers. Although not detected in previous surveys, PT GAN has the potential to detect the presence of flat-headed cats in the eastern part and adjacent to the Serkap River.

Abstract

The development of the city center in various forms can affect Green Open Space (GOS) as a source of oxygen, sports facilities, community recreation facilities, and regional income. This study was conducted at the City Center of Muara Enim Regency. Muara Enim Regency has experienced rapid development in recent years, so it is suspected that there has been a reduction in the area of GOS. This research aims to identify, analyze, and map the provision of GOS in the City Center of Muara Enim Regency. The main data in this research include Landsat 8 satellite image data for 2021-2023. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) algorithm analysis method is the basis for determining the density of vegetation that makes up the green spaces. Law No. 26 of 2007 on spatial planning states that the proportion of green space in urban areas is at least 30% of the total area. The results showed that the area of dense vegetation in Muara Enim Regency City Center decreased, but the amount of green space in City Center of Muara Enim Regency was 73.57% of the area and still met the proportion of green space set by the government.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the mineral calcium is needed by the body for functional operations and bone health. Calcium needs for body operations include the formation of red blood cells. If blood cell formation is disrupted, it will cause anemia, which can lead to a calcium deficit that can lead to bone loss or what is known as osteoporosis. One of the plants that contain high calcium is mustard greens. The contents of mustard greens include protein, fat, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, iron (Fe), vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin C. However, green leafy plants such as mustard greens are thought to cause an increase in uric acid in the blood. In this research, mustard juice will be given as calcium intake to fulfill body operations, namely hematocrit levels and hemoglobin levels and blood uric acid levels. 18 white rats are grouped as follows: Group 1 with 4 mL/200g BW, group II 8 mL/ 200g and group III negative control treatment, each treatment was repeated 6 times, for 15 days. This research was designed using a 3x4 Factorial Completely Randomized Design, analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's Test. The results obtained were that 8 mL/200G BW mustard juice could increase hemoglobin levels and did not increase uric acid levels.

Abstract

Microalgae are microscopic unicellular organisms that have varying sizes, shapes, and types, have photosynthetic pigments, are photoautotrophic, and are found in aquatic environments. Microalgae have certain limits of tolerance to water chemical physics factors. The presence of microalgae in water can be used as an indicator of the state of the water. This study aims to identify the diversity of microalgae as an indicator of the water quality present in the river around the Ragunan Margasatwa crocodile cage. Sampling was done in the Ragunan Margasatwa Park river near the crocodile cage. Samples of macroalgae are visually identified and include morphology, color, shape, and other characteristics. Based on the observations, it can be concluded that the river ecosystems around the crocodile cages are under low ecosystem pressure. The diversity index generally has a range of values between 1.5 and 4, and lower values reflect increasing ecosystem instability. The lowest microalgae density was found at station 1, which is 120 ind/ml. Individuals with the highest density at station 2, the species Aphanothece sp. with a density value of 293.3 ind/mL.

Abstract

Laying hens in Indonesia are outstanding and potential commodities. However, Newcastle Disease (ND) is one of the risks that must be faced. Now vaccination is chosen as one of the strategies to prevent ND. This paper aims to examine the effect of inactivated ND vaccine from Lentogenic and Velogenic strains on the increase in antibody titers of laying hens. To find the antibody titer value, the Hemagglutination Inhibition (HI) test method is used with serum sampling time before vaccination, 4th week, 6th week, 8th week, and 10th week post-vaccination. Meanwhile, to see the significance of the difference in titers at each time, a statistical analysis was carried out using the Paired Sample T-test. From this analysis, it is known that the Lentogenic strain has the highest significance at week 8 post-vaccination with a value of 1779.20 compared to 380.80 before vaccination. Meanwhile, the Velogenic strain had the highest significance at week 4 post-vaccination with a value of 1753.60 compared to 143.60 before vaccination. So it can be concluded that the Inactivated ND vaccine is effective in stimulating the formation of protective antibodies to fight against the ND virus attack.
