Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach as best practice in enhancing the questioning abilities of middle school students through Problem-Based Learning (PBL). CRT is integrated with PBL to create a learning experience that is more relevant and engaging for students. This research utilizes both qualitative and quantitative methods within a classroom action research design. The sample includes 7th-grade students from SMP Negeri 5 Ponorogo as the main subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and surveys to evaluate changes in students' learning interests with the implementation of the CRT approach. The results are expected to provide in-depth insights into the positive impact of CRT implementation on middle school students' questioning abilities through PBL. The implications of this research include recommendations for curriculum development, teacher training, and the development of more contextual learning strategies to enhance questioning skills at the middle school level. The findings show that the CRT approach positively affects the enhancement of students' questioning abilities, marked by an increase in the number of students asking questions and achieving a target of 25% of the total class number. Abstract

The motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" is the basis for diversity in Indonesia. However, the level of tolerance is a concern, especially regarding the disapproval of exclusive groups. This research emphasizes the importance of the value of tolerance, particularly among the nation's younger generation. Education is considered a platform for building tolerance by including subject matter that explores understanding of cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity. This research focuses on the use of comics as learning media, which can capture students' attention through a combination of pictures and stories, helping them understand the values of tolerance more deeply. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) aims to measure the effectiveness of using comics to increase understanding of the value of tolerance among students of class VIII-D at SMPN 3 Jombang. The results show that the percentage obtained by students in the pre-cycle only up to 6%, then in cycle I a percentage of 59% was achieved using an average of 76.25. In cycle II, there was a significant increase, reaching 94% with an average score of 84.66. In conclusion, comic learning media is effective in the learning process because it can enhance students' knowledge and understanding of the importance of tolerance.

Abstract

This research aims to outline the assessment process in the Merdeka curriculum, encompassing diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments. The approach utilized involves conducting a review of the literature, by gathering information through exploration of different written sources. Content analysis is utilized in data analysis. The study findings reveal that the diagnostic assessment consists of cognitive and non-cognitive assessments designed to evaluate students' condition and fundamental skills. Formative assessment occurs during the learning process, while summative assessment occurs after a specific instructional period. Teachers must conduct diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to understand the strengths and weaknesses of student learning during the learning process to tailor instruction to fit the abilities and characteristics of each student.

Abstract

Social media has become a place for social interaction and expanding social networks. TikTok is one of Indonesia's most frequently used social media applications, with most of its users being teenagers or students. The existence of the TikTok phenomenon, which is massive in society, can influence students' learning motivation levels. Therefore, this research aims to determine how much influence the use of the TikTok application has on student learning motivation, especially at the State University of Malang. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. Data was collected and distributed through a closed questionnaire using Google Form to 32 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 application. This research shows that most respondents use TikTok every day and spend more than 2 hours. The content they access is primarily educational or inspirational. On the other hand, some respondents felt that using TikTok negatively impacted decreasing learning motivation caused by excessive use and lack of control in learning use. The data analysis results show no significant difference between the decrease in student learning motivation and the use of TikTok.

Abstract

Categories of learning outcomes include acceptance, response, assessment, organization, and pattern formation. Thus, the essence of learning is a change in thinking that affects behaviour. The results of interviews with teachers at SMA Kartika XIII-I Ambon show that current students have not shown an environmentally conscious attitude. Therefore, research was conducted to improve the mastery of the concept of class X students on environmental pollution material using creative problem-solving learning models with guided inquiry strategies. This study used a classroom action research method that took place in two cycles for one month. The subjects in this study were 26 students. The research data were processed descriptively on the results of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments. The results showed that in cycle I there were still 65.4% of students who had not achieved mastery of concepts on environmental pollution material. Therefore, the research was continued in cycle two with the action of using the creative problem-solving learning model based on guided inquiry strategy and coupled with audio-visuals media, as well as a stimulus in the form of giving rewards to active students. It was proven that in cycle II there was an increase in students' mastery of concepts in environmental pollution material in students by 100% so that the series of class action research was no longer continued. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan gunamenghasilkan soal bertipe PISA dengan konteks pribadi yang mana diharapkan mampu mengambangkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dan juga dapat dinyatakan valid dan praktis. Pada penelitian kali ini, peneliti menggunakan metode design research dengan tipe development studies yang terbagi menjadi 2 tahap yakni preliminary dan formative evaluation. Pada tahap premilinary mencakup tahapan analisis dan perancangan. Sementara pada tahap formative evaluation mencakup self evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one dan small group), dan field test. Untuk pemerolehan data yang digunakan oleh peneliti yaitu digunakannya dokumentasi, wawancara, skor tes serta walk through. Peneliti berhasil mengembangkan 4 butir soal model PISA yang mana sudah divalidasi oleh 3 expert review secara kualitatif, dan juga dapat dikatakan praktis dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilakukan siswa, soal yang telah diciptakan mempunyai efek potensial yaitu siswa memiliki ketrampilan untuk bernalar dan pendapat matematis yang mana hal tersebut mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis, dan siswa juga dapat memecahkan masalah dengan rancangan matematika serta mengaplikasijann suatu perhitungan dasar.

Abstract

The instructor must employ a learning model to assist the material's exposition during the teaching process. Poor learning results for students are primarily a result of teacher quality. Where teachers continue to exert much control over the learning process and do not apply cutting-edge teaching techniques. The goal of this study is to conduct a literature review on papers that examine the chemistry learning outcomes using problem-based learning model. This analysis used a total of twenty scholarly publications from Google Scholar between 2020 and 2024. A table listing published scientific articles analyzed in the research data is used as the data presentation strategy. Scientific articles were identified and analyzed to generate a descriptive data analysis technique.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on student learning outcomes in science learning. The method used is a quantitative method with a comparative type. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire on the problem based learning model and learning outcomes. The quantitative data analysis technique used total sampling with 50 students as respondents from two classes, namely VIII C and VIII D. Based on the t test, sig. (2-tailed) was obtained in class VIII C 0.044, 0.032 and VIII D 0.043, 0.033, <0.05. So there is a difference. Based on the regression test, sig. (2-tailed) was obtained in class VIII C 0.023, 0.027 and VIII D 0.026, 0.025, <0.05. So there is an influence. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences and influences of the problem based learning model on student learning outcomes in science learning in classes VIII C and VIII D at SMP 19 Jambi City.

Abstract

Abstract The low interest in leraning among students in science subject can be partially attributed to the  use of conventional teaching models that do not angage students in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to addres this issue by implementing a learning model that actively involves students, namely Problem Based Learning (PBL). Through Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model over two cycles, this study aims to enhance the learning interest of students in science subject in Class IX-B at SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. To assess the implementation of learning and students’ learning interest, instruments such as student activity observation sheets and learning interest questionnaires were utilized. The result of the study indicate that the implementation of the PBL model can increase students’ interest in learning science in Class IX-B at SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan over two learning cycles. Overall, based on the indicators in the reserch instrument, the most significant increase in learning interest was observed in the indicators of interest in the teacher and concentration in learning, while the lowest increase was in the indicator of thoroughness in learning. Observations of student learning activities also showed an increase from the pre-cycle to Cycle I and Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, 60% of students were active, whereas in Cycle II, 77% of students were active. This indicates an increase in student activeness from Cycle I to Cycle II by 17%. This demonstrates that the implementation of the PBL model is effective in creating an interactive and relevant learning environment, making it a viable alternative strategy for enhancing students’ interest in learning science. Keywords: Student Learning Interest, Student Learning Activities, Science Learning, Problem Based Learning Model   Abstrak Rendahnya minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA dapat disebabkan oleh penggunaan model pembelajaran konvensional yang tidak melibatkan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan tindak lanjut untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa yaitu Problem Based Learning. Melalui penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan MCTaggart dalam dua siklus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas IX-B di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan minat belajar siswa maka digunakan indtrumen berupa lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan lembar angket minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA siswa kelas IX-B SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Setiap indikator minat belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I ke siklus II. Secara keseluruhan berdasarkan indikator dalam instrument penelitian, minat belajar yang mengalami peningkatan paling tinggi, adalah pada indikator tertarik pada guru dan konsentrasi dalam belajar sedangkan indikator dengan peningkatan paling rendah adalah teliti dalam belajar. Hasil obsevasi terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I siswa yang aktif sebanyak 60% sedangkan pada siklus II siswa yang aktif sebanyak 77%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada keaktifan siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 17%. Hal ini menunjukkan penerapan model PBL efektif dalam menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang interaktif dan relevan, sehingga dapat diterapkan sebagai strategi alternatif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA. Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN Joho 1 Sukoharjo on the material of cultural diversity in Indonesia through the use of diorama media. The background of this research is the low learning achievement of students due to the lack of use of concrete media in the learning process. The research took place in two cycles, each cycle consisted of steps of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This study involved nine fifth grade students, consisting of seven male students and two female students. Data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to assess the improvement of students' learning achievement. The research findings showed an increase in students' learning achievement from cycle I to cycle II. Diorama media supports learners in understanding the material more effectively because it is able to present cultural concepts in a clear and interesting way. The conclusion of this study is that diorama media is effectively used to improve learners' learning achievement on the topic of cultural diversity in Indonesia.
