The Jambura Physics Journal (JPJ) is the official journal of Physics Department, Faculty Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. JPJ is a peer-reviewed article publish articles twice a year in April and October. The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) reviewers. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal peer-reviewing process. The language used in this journal is English or Indonesia. The Jambura Physics Journal is an integrated forum for communicating scientific advances in the field of physics and education physics. The journal reports significant new findings related to physics applications and education physics, including learning media development, learning methods development, learning methods implementation, and several application of physics. The Jambura Physics Journal publishes comprehensive research articles and invited reviews by leading experts in the field. Papers will be selected that high scientific merit, impart important new knowledge, and are of high interest to physics and education physics community.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the influence of the Microsoft Teams implementation on students' problem-solving ability by using a problem-based learning model on the harmonic motion topic. This research is conducted in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. This study applies the experimental method. The study takes place at SMA Negeri 1 Popayato in grade XI with research subjects are XI IPA 1 graders amounted to 20 students’ and XI IPA 3 graders amounted to 20 students. The data collection uses were the assessment of students' test results. However, the data analysis in this study uses the t-test. Based on the hypothesis test, it is obtained that  8.340 greater than  2.024 with a significance level of α = 0.05, then Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on students' problem-solving abilities using Microsoft Teams on the Problem Based Learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of applying local wisdom-based learning on science process skills in class XI high school heat concept. The method in this study is an experimental method with the type of Pre-Experimental Design. This research belongs to the type of quantitative descriptive research with the research design of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research was conducted in the Odd Semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year in class XIA students of SMA Negeri 1 Paguat with a total of 20 students. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the average results of students' science process skills when given a pre-test was 15.44 (very poor) and when given a post-test it was 92.01 (very good). The results of the N-Gain test analysis were obtained for indicators of observing, classifying, communicating, and drawing conclusions to get an average of 0.87 (high category). Based on the results of research that has been carried out by researchers and other researchers, it can be concluded that learning based on local wisdom affects the science process skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Paguwat in learning physics, especially on the concept of heat.

Abstract

The purpose and implementation of this research were to produce the development of class VII integrated science learning tools for students of MTsN. 1 Gorontalo’s City dan to determine their effectiveness. The method in this research was used the Research and Development (R and D) approach. The step in the research was used the ADDIE models, where the development processes are: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results were showed that interpretation of the average assessment of the learning tools (syllabus learning, RPP, LKPD, teaching materials, learning media, and learning outcomes test) was very appropriate. Where the validation index of all of the items was ranged from 0.75 – 0.95. The conclusion was valid by calculating the consistency of the panelists’ assessment, where the reliability was 0.77 – 0.95. the results of observer’s observation (1 and 2) on the implementation of learning as from using of learning tools in the average percentage was obtained 92,35%.  There was a significant increase in student outcomes at the pretest and posttest. This increase was included in the category (g-high). Thus the development of integrated science learning tools in energy materials for class VII students was meet requirements that were valid and reliable, feasible, and effective for improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Development research has been carried out to produce student worksheets (LKPD) based on problem-solving assisted by tracker software that is valid, practical, and has the potential effect of improving problem-solving skills. This research is development research (R and D) that uses the Rowntree model which consists of the planning stage, the development stage, and the evaluation stage, which includes self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. The subjects in this study were students of class X SMA in Palembang. Based on the expert review stage, the validity of the LKPD based on problem-solving assisted by tracker software in terms of the feasibility of the material, language, and learning design obtained an average value of 90% with the very valid category. The one-to-one stage obtained an average value of 87% in the very practical category. The small group stage obtained an average score of 86% in the very practical category. In the field test stage, 91% of students completed the physics questions and the post-test results showed an increase of 50 when compared to the pre-test results.

Abstract

This research is a meta-analytic study that uses qualitative analysis methods with documentation data collection techniques with pusposive sampling techniques. In 10 journal articles analyzed that the results of 10 research journal articles show that the effect of the application of the inquiry learning model has an effect on the learning process results. The application of this inquiry model has a significant influence on learning achievement such as science process skills, conceptual understanding, creative thinking skills and student learning outcomes. With this inquiry learning model, it has a positive influence on the achievement of students in learning. From the analysis of 10 journal articles, it is clear that the application of learning with this inquiry learning model has a positive influence on student understanding and student learning outcomes in physics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the application of the discovery learning model on the subject matter of light in class VIIIC students of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. This research is descriptive. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 8 Kupang for the 2019/2020 school year. The subjects in this study were researchers and 22 students of class VIIIC at SMP Negeri 8 Kupang, even semester, 2019/2020 academic year. The techniques used to collect data in this study are observation and tests. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis of the research data, it shows that in general, the application of the discovery learning model for the subject matter of light for students is optimal. In detail, the researcher's ability to manage to learn is obtained which includes: planning, implementing, and evaluating learning, including in the good category. The learning outcomes test (THB) of students for cognitive learning outcomes tests on learning implementation activities which include: preliminary activities, core activities, closing activities, time allocation, and class atmosphere are all in the very high category and cognitive achievement for each lesson plan is all complete.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce science learning tools using the Discovery Learning model on vibration and wave material to improve student learning outcomes in junior high schools that are valid and suitable for theoretical use. The research method used is the development of a 4D model design which goes through 4 stages including the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination stage. However, this research is only limited to the development stage. Data collection techniques are through expert validation sheets, practitioner validation sheets, and final semester students. According to the results of this research, it was obtained that implementation of learning by plan and teaching materials had a validity value of 0.85, while for student worksheets 0.87 and learning outcomes tests had a validity level of 0.84 with the criteria based on Aiken (V > 0.80). So that it can be concluded that theoretically it belongs to the very valid criteria and deserves to be tested by other researchers.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan di kelas VII6 SMP Negeri 1 Telaga yang diajarkan kepada 34 orang siswa. Instrument yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru, lembar pengamatan aktivitas siswa dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh pada siklus 1 kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mencapai 59% termasuk kategori tidak kritis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penelitian tindakan kelas pada siklus 1 belum mencapai ketuntasan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, dengan dilakukan tindakan pada siklus II kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mencapai 80% dengan kategori sangat kritis. Dan untuk hasil analisis data aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa pada siklus II telah mencapai peningkatan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajaran fisika dan matematika siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA) di Papua Barat. Penelitian ini berangkat dari keinginan untuk memetakan dan menemukan letak masalah kognitif bagi siswa SMA di Papua Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif deskripsif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa pemberian tindakan yang diikuti evalusi dan pengukuran kemampuan mengingat berdasarkan indikator kemampuan mengingat konsep, mengingat persamaan, mengingat pola soal, megingat prosedur dan kemampuan mengingat objek visual dalam belajar Fisika dan matematika. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dengan pemetaan persentase kemampuan siswa pada tiga skala ukur yaitu, mampu, kurang mampu dan tidak mampu. Temuan penting dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan mengingat siswa dalam pelajaran fisika dan matematika kurang optimal, sehingga hal ini menjadi indikasi kesulitan siswa dalam menguasai aspek kognitif pada tingkatan berikutnya. Namun demikian, kemampuan mengingat siswa pada matapelajaran fisika lebih baik dibandingkan matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik komposit ZnO-bentonit hasil sintesis. Tahapan penelitian terdiri dari preparasi dan akivasi bentonit menggunakan H2SO4, sintesis komposit ZnO-bentonit dengan metode impregnasi dan karakterisasi komposit ZnO-bentonit menggunakan XRD dan SEM –EDX. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Bentonit dan komposit ZnO-bentonit dengan karakterisasi instrumen XRD masing-masing menunjukkan terbentuk puncak pada 2θ = 20-62 dan 2θ = 31-57 yang masing-masing mengindikasikan adanya montmorilonit dan ZnO. Karakterisasi morfologi menggunakan instrumen SEM-EDX menunjukkan ZnO berwarna putih tersebar diatas permukaan bentonit yang ditandai dengan hasil EDX dengan persentase O sebesar 90,55% dan sisanya terdapat unsur lain seperti Al (Aluminium) 8,65 %, P (Phsphorus) 0,43 % dan S (Sulphur) 0,37 %.
