Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to find out the effect of Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides, L) herbs ethanol extract that given orally on decreasing bleeding and blood coagulation time in white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain. Bandotan herbs were extracted by soxhlet using 70% ethanol as solvent. The animals test were divided in five groups, each group consist of 5 mice. Group I was given dose 69,58 mg, group II was given dose 104,37 mg, and group III was given dose 139,16 mg/200 g BW. Group IV as positive control was given tranexamic acid 4,5 mg/200 g BW. Group V as negative control was given CMC 1%. The animals test were given sub cutaneous heparin injection for 5 days to induce bleeding and inhibit blood coagulation, and then were given test preparation for 6 days and the time of bleeding ceasing and blood coagulation were recorded once every 2 days during test preparation was given. \The statistic results of the study showed that ethanol extract of goat weed herbs given orally could decrease bleeding time and blood coagulation in white male rats. According to the result of two ways anova statistical test, ethanol extract of goat weed herbs with dose of 104,37 mg/200 g BW is effectivest in decreased bleeding and blood coagulation time with ability to stop bleeding time 85,45% and blood coagulation time 70%.

Abstract

Mundu (Garcinia dulcis Kurz.) is one of the potential with the chemical compound xanton and triterpenoid for antiplasmodial. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of n-hexane extract of stem bark Mundu (Garcinia dulcis Kurz.) as the antiplasmodial in mice induced by Plasmodium berghei through a reduction in parasitemia and to find out the most effective doses that have antiplasmodial activities. The animal test mice before treatment with extract induced by Plasmodium berghei to the number of erythrocytic in the blood of 107 and antelmintika were given pirantel pamoat. The concentrate extract was tested in each group of animals test with a dose of 50 mg/kgBW mice, 100 mg / kgBW mice and 150 mg/kgBW mice, negative control group were given 0,5 % CMC and the positive control were given chloroquine be suspention in CMC solution. Antiplasmodial effect was observed by calculating the decrease of the amount of paracitemia. The results showed that the n-hexane extract of Mundu’s stem bark dose 50 mg / kgBW, 100 mg/kgBW and 150 mg/kgBW provide as antiplasmodial activity. Dose of 50 mg/kgBW provide antiplasmodial activity more effective.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease that affects many people. Dewandaru (Eugenia uniflora L.) leavesis a traditional medicinal plant contains saponins, flavonoids, tannins which one of the benefits to treat diabetes mellitus. Aimedof this study to identify and seek the most effective combination dose of 70% ethanol extract dewandaru leaves in combined with metformin to decrease blood glucose levels in Wistar male rats. Dewandaru leaves macerated with 70% ethanol solvent, condensed macerate obtained was tested in each group of test animals. Thirty rats were divided into 6 groups. Group I was given 70% ethanol extract of dewandaru leaves 300 mg/200 gBW, the second group (negative control) was given Na2EDTA 14 mg/200 gBW, group III (positive control) was given metformin 4.5 mg/200 gBW, group IV, V and VI was given the extract doses of 75 mg / 200 gBW, 150 mg/200 gBW and 300 mg/200 gBW combine with metformin 4.5 mg/200 gBW repectively. The treatment conduct for 12 days, 3 days induced with Na2EDTA, and then for 9 days given treatment according to each group. The glucose levels were determinated day 0, the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th. Then the data obtained were analyzed by one way ANOVA with a level of 95%. The result showed a decrease in blood glucose levels significantly between the treatment group 70% ethanol extract of dewandaru leaves dose of 75 mg, 150 mg and 300 mg/200 gBW in combine with metformin. 70% ethanol extract of dewandaru leaves dose of 75 mg/200 gBW in combine with metformin iseffective dose that coulddecrease blood glucose levels with three days theraphy.

Abstract

Pneumonia merupakan penyakit sistem pernapasan dimana alveoli mengalami peradangan dan terjadi penimbunan cairan. Pneumonia merupakan infeksi serius yang banyak diderita oleh anak anak dan orang dewasa secara fundamental yang terjadi di seluruh dunia. Ada banyak bakteri penyebab penyakit pneumonia antara lain seperti yang digunakan dalam pengujian ini adalah Streptococcus pneumonia, Klebsiella pneumonia, Streptococcus haemolyticus alpha dan beta. Tanaman yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah herba rumput mutiara, dan daun patikan kebo. Metode mikrodilusi digunakan untuk pengujian aktivitas antibakterinya. Pengujian ini dilakukan terhadap ekstrak etanol, ekstrak metanol dan infuse dari daun patikan kebo dan rumput mutiara dengan konsentrasi yang sama dengan konsentrasi terbesar adalah 1024 μg/ml konsentrasi berikutnya berdasarkan pengenceran terus dilakukan sampai pada kolom ketiga yang akan memiliki konsentrasi terkecil. Pelat diinkubasi pada suhu 37°C selama 24 jam kemudian diamati bagian yang jernih (tidak ada pertumbuhan mikroba). Konsentrasi terkecil di mana tidak terlihat pertumbuhan mikroba ditetapkan sebagai MIC (NCCLS, 2003). Berdasarkan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri terhadap infus, ekstrak metanol dan ekstrak etanol daun patikan kebo, dan herba rumput mutiara, dengan metode broth microdillution, terlihat bahwa ekstrak yang paling aktif adalah ekstrak etanol daun patikan kebo dan ekstrak etanolik herba rumput mutiara pada bakteri, Streptococcus Pneumonia, Streptococcus haemolyticus alpha dan Streptococcus haemoyiticus beta dan Klebsiella pneumonia meskipun efeknya lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan obat standart tetrasiklin.

Abstract

Mahkota dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl) belongs to the family of Thymelaeaceae, the seed contains flavonoid, tannin and alkaloid. Extraction was carried out by means of a soxhlet. The objectives of this experiment were to study the antibacterial activity of mahkota dewa seed extract, to select the best ointment base and the effective concentration of the seed extract of the ointment. Antibacterial activity of the ethanolic seed extract of mahkota dewa was tested by diffusion method and formulated into hydrocarbon, absorption, emulsion and water soluble ointment base each containing 3% of the seed extract to determine the best ointment base. Ointment with water soluble base (the best among above mentioned ointment base) with an extract concentration of 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% were made and applied to the infected area twice daily and observations made until the wound has dried. Topical ointment with 1% Gentamycin was used as positive control. Result of the experiment showed that ethanolic seed extract of mahkota dewa and the ointments with the above mentioned four concentrations have an antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 indicated by the disappearance of the pus and healing of the wound. Ointment of water soluble base with 4% seed extract of mahkota dewa has the most effective antibacterial property.

Abstract

Avicel PH 101 is an excipient in tablet making that can be used as diluent, binder, lubricant, and disintegrator. Avicel is not economically an advantage so that it needs to be combined with cheaper materials. Combination of Avicel PH 101 with gelatin starch is able to accelerate the disintegration time of the effervescent tablet. Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) rose is a traditional medicine that is used as antiinflammation. The study was to find out the optimum proportion of Avicel PH 101 and gelatin mixture in effervescent tablet making of rosella rose extract by simplex lattice design method. The extract of rosella rose was obtained by maceration of rosella rose powder with ethanol 70%. The obtained extract was evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. Effervescent tablet formulation was based on SLD method with excipients of Avicel PH 101 (A) and gelatin (B) i.e. F1 (100% A), F2 ( 50% A : 50% B), F3 (100% B). The effervescent tablets of rosella rose extract were made by a direct compression methods. Physical characteristic test of the tablets included weight uniformity test, hardness test, friability test, disoluble time test and taste perception test. The equation was used to make effervescent tablets with total respond of the most optimum granules physical properties. The data of the physical properties of granules from optimum formula as calculation result based on SLD equation with the experiment result was analyzed using T-test. Effervescent tablets from optimum formula were physically tested including weight uniformity, hardness, friability and taste perception test. The result of the experiment indicated that the mixture of 90% Avicel PH 101 – 10% gelatin produced an optimum result in granules physical properties and the obtained effervescent tablets of rosella rose extract fulfilled tablet physical property test.

Abstract

Purwoceng is one of the plants that used traditionally by people in Dieng mountains as aphrodisiac. The use of purwoceng as an aphrodisiac now been extended to other areas and traditional market, usually known as mountain purwoceng, and the part used are the root. The price of purwoceng Dieng is relatively high, while the market purwoceng is relatively affordable. The aim of the experiment was to know the spermatogenesis and aphrodisiac effect of purwoceng herbs infuse from market in Surakarta. Spermatogenesis and aphrodisiac activity test was done using 15 male white mice Wistar strain divided in 3 groups and each group consists of 5 mice. Group I was negative control (water), group II was positive control (purwoceng powder + pasak bumi), group III was purwoceng herbs infuse from market in Surakarta. They were given orally to the mice for 5 days, observed every 2 days. Test of sperm quality was observed on days 0, 2, 4 and 6 which include the number, motility and morphology of spermatozoa. On the 6 th day do weights the testes and seminal vesicles. The aphrodisiac effect was observed behavior of the male white mice by counting the climbing frequency (the male mice climbing on the female mice). The experiment result showed that Purwoceng herb market infuse had an effect on spermatogenesis of male rats and the aphrodisiac on male white mouse wistar strain.

Abstract

Decree of the Minister of Health No. 1197/Menkes/SK/X/2004 on Standards of Hospital Pharmacy Services, which states that the hospital pharmacy services is an integral part of hospital health care system is oriented to patient care, the provision of quality medicines, including clinical pharmacy services, are affordable for all levels of society. Installation of Hospital Pharmacy is the only division of hospitals that are fully responsible for the management and control throughout the pharmaceutical and other medical supplies in circulation and used in hospitals. In this regard the management and management of IFRS must be done properly, efficiently and effectively to support health services in hospitals. For that IFRS need to create appropriate strategies that began by analyzing both internal and external environment, known as SWOT analysis. Based on the SWOT analysis of the IFRS can formulate strategies that can be implemented in the service in IFRS. This type of research is a case study using descriptive research design and strategic analysis, with qualitative and quantitative approach that aims to explore the internal and external environmental conditions IFRS TK.IV Slamet Riyadi. Data were collected through observation of documents, direct observation and questionnaire spread. Qualitative data and quantitative data were analyzed contents were statistically analyzed. The results show the calculation results of internal evaluation matrix, the strength of IFRS Tk. IV Slamet Riyadi Surakarta is greater than the value of 0.28 weaknesses. The results of the evaluation matrix external factors also value the opportunities greater than the threat value of 0.25. Thus IFRS Tk. Slamet Riyadi Surakarta is at quadrant 1 which supports an aggressive growth policy. The selection strategy of using the matrix QSP results that improve the quality and quantity of human resources at 7.52; improved management of pharmaceutical supplies for 7.44; improving the quality of facilities, infrastructure and science and technology facility at 7.37; and the conduct of research, comparative studies and development hospital pharmacy installation of 7.29.

Abstract

Beef burger is origin beef product that is milled and grounded, dashed with condiment then swirled with fat until it is mixed rolled out. Lead and copper in beef burger could be make toxicity if its rate exceed stipubting from BPOM which is for lead content may not exceed 2,0 mg/kg whereas copper may not exceed 20,0 mg/kg. The aim of the research was to know lead and copper content in beef burger products commercial in Kartasura by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. This research used 3 samples beef burger product. The sample was put in blender then put in oven at temperatur 1100 C until dry. The sampel was ashed in muffle furnace at temperatur 5500 C for5 hours. The sample was destructed with aquaregia (mixed HCl and HNO3 = 3:1) and dissolved with aquabidestillata, then analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry at wavelength 283,3 nm. The result of qualitative analysis shown positive result because at condition analysis’s lead and copper element all samples gave absorption. The result of quantitative analysis rate of lead in sample A, B, C successively, that was: 0,2418 ± 0,0005 mg/kg; 0,2412 ± 0,0006mg/kg; 0,2398 mg/kg. The result of quantitative analysis rate of copper in sample A, B, C successively, that was:0,2886 mg/kg; 0,3312 ± 0,000001 mg/kg; 0,2956 ± 0,0012 mg/kg.

Abstract

Malaria is a parasitic disease caused by protozoa of plasmodium genus. Mundu (Garcinia dulcis Kurz.) is one of the potential with the chemical compound xanton and triterpenoid for antiplasmodial. The aim of this experiment was to find out the effect of mundu (Garcinia dulcis Kurz) cortex n-hexane extract on leucocytes amount and hemoglobin level in mouse infected with Plasmodium berghei, and to know the dose of the most effective n-hexane extract as antiplasmodium. Mundu extract made by maceration use n-hexane. The animal test mice before treatment with extract induced by Plasmodium berghei to the number of erythrocytic in the blood of 107 and the concentrate extract was tested in each group of animals test with a dose of 50 mg / kg bw mice, 100 mg / kg bw mice and 150 mg / kg bw mice, negative control group were given 0.5% CMC and the positive control were given chloroquine be suspention in CMC solution. The anti-plasmodium effect was observed by calculating the leucocytes amount and hemoglobin level. Data was prosessed with one way ANOVA statistical test followed by tukey test. The result of the experiment showed that n-hexane extract of mundu cortex had the anti-plasmodium effect by decrease the leucocytes amount and increase hemoglobin on the mouse induced with Plasmodium berghei. The most effective dose of mundu cortex n-hexane extract was 100 mg/kg BW.
