This study aims to explore the scientific treasures of Islam, especially in the Qur’an, Sunnah and Shirah Nabawiyah in formulating the ideal Islamic education planning concept along with examples of Islamic educational institutions that have been successful in planning so that they can become references for other Islamic educational institutions. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with data sources from Islamic literature. The results show that planning is a systematic and rational process by analyzing alternatives and any developments in Islamic education in an organization in order to achieve optimal goals in accordance with the worldview of Islam. Islam teaches that all aspects of life must be sourced from primary sources, in several verses of the Qur'an, Sunnah and Shirah Nabawiyah, it has been explained about the core concepts of a comprehensive Islamic education planning. Therefore, planning for Islamic education must be aimed at the interests of society and oriented towards the world and the hereafter.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the implementing concept of curriculum in Indonesia which is consideredable to improve the quality and education system. However, the concept has not showed positive results. On the one hand, integrated character education in the government curriculum has not been able to solve the problem of the moral degradation of the younger generation. This study is a literature review busing qualitative data. The method used is content analysis by analyzing the concept of character education and the concept of adab (ta'dib). As the result, it was found that there were fundamental differences between the concept of character education and the concept of adab. Character education aims to create good citizens (good society), while concept of adab aims to create good people (good individuals). In contrast to that, character education has a fundamental difference to the concept of adab. Furthermore, character education is derived from the Western concept that indicated secular, while the concept of adab is indigenous value from the concept of Islamic education. The concept of adab is considered capable of being an alternative solution for educational theaching in Indonesia because it is in accordance with the objectives of national education which is based on faith (al-Iman), devotion (al-Taqwa) and noble character (al-akhlak al-karimah).

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the thoughts of the director and the teachers of al-Ikhlash Islamic Boarding School about tauẖîd education, and how the implementation of tauẖîd education in al-Ikhlash Lamongan Islamic Boarding School. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenology. The results showed that: First, tauẖîd received special attention at al-Ikhlash Islamic Boarding School because the main target of education in this Islamic boarding school was the formation of a generation of Muslims who had pure monotheism that colored their entire life, because the concept of monotheism contains doctrinal implications that the purpose of human life must be within the framework of worshiping Allah and from this concept of monotheism will emerge moral standards. Second, tauẖîd education at al-Ikhlash Islamic Boarding School uses the 3P method, namely doctrine values of tauẖîd, understanding, and practice. This is because tauẖîd education has more to do with things that are unseen which require that faith be prioritized over reason in order to become individuals who fear Allah. While the tauẖîd learning method at Pesantren al-Ikhlash Lamongan uses the halaqah system in the mosque by studying the monotheistic books written by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab and also the learning system in the classroom by studying the monotheism books written by Dr. Salih Fauzan.

Abstract

Limited information, experience, and very low economic conditions are the background of business dispute cases, especially in Islamic mortgages. Business dispute cases, including Islamic mortgage, have so far been resolved using non-litigation settlements using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), it is considered easier, does not incur expensive costs, is familial, and achieves the goal of dispute resolution, namely win-win solutions. Settlement of disputes using this method has been regulated in Law Number 30 of 1999 concerning arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. In this case, the Yogyakarta Ombudsman as one of the non-litigation institutions also takes part in resolving disputes non-litigation. This study aims to analyze the method used, namely alternative dispute resolution in resolving disputes over sharia mortgage loans. Finally, this research finds that in the process of resolving disputes over sharia mortgages with alternative dispute resolution, the method of consultation, negotiation, mediation, and expert judgment is used. The alternative dispute resolution method prioritizes peace and a win-win solution or conditions that are favorable to the parties, but in this case, the non-litigation dispute resolution method does not succeed in bringing about peace or a win-win solution.

Abstract

Export-Import is one of the engines that drive economic growth. Compared to domestic trade, Export-Import trade or international trade contains more risks. In reducing the risks that may occur in international trade, exporters use Letters of Credit as a guarantee of payment for goods. Compared with the weaknesses and benefits of using a Letter of Credit (LoC) in risk mitigation in export-import transactions, the benefits of using it are greater. Therefore, this study aims to find out how to use a Letter of Credit (LoC) as an instrument in mitigating export-import risk based on the maqâshid syarî’ah‎ review. This research is qualitative with observation, interviews, and documentation in data collection. The data is analyzed from the data obtained from the object of the research is a descriptive analysis using the maqâshid syarî’ah‎ approach by looking at the risks that may occur in the use of a Letter of Credit (LoC). The results of the study stated that the use of a Letter of Credit (LoC) as an export-import payment instrument is allowed if it becomes a necessity and creates benefits for the wider community. Providing facilities for issuing and using letters of credit as export and import documents needs to be developed so that it will increase exporters' interest and encourage an increase in export-import, as well as an increase in the value of foreign exchange, besides that it is necessary to develop Islamic banks as providers of shari’ah letter of credit services for exporters and Muslim importer.

Abstract

The development of modern Islamic boarding schools‎ in Indonesia cannot be separated from the model built by the Gontor Islamic Boarding School. Gontor's education system is constructed to accommodate the continuity of Islamic religious traditions by adapting educational principles developed by exemplary institutions called sintesa. There are four specific inspirations of Gontor education: Al-Azhar in Egypt, Syanggit in Mauritania, Aligarh, and Santiniketan in India. This study aims to discuss Gontor education which is constructed from the educational philosophy of Aligarh and Santiniketan. The method used is autoethnography with the use of Giddens structuration as a theoretical framework. This study found that, in general, the influence of Aligarh and Santiniketan embodied in two aspects: symbolic and substantial. The symbolic aspect presents in the form of the nominalization of physical and non-physical infrastructure in Gontor. Substantial aspects are manifested in the modernization of the learning system and institutional governance, language skills, and the design of a holistic educational paradigm. This influence is manifested in Gontor education through a dialectical-structural step that involves the creative process of Trimurti, the founder of Gontor, to reconstruct the Aligarh and Santiniketan educational philosophies that are useful in developing and in line with Islamic education traditions. Keywords: Reconstruction, Islamic Education, Gontor, Aligarh, Santiniketan.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of social solidarity from ‎the theological understanding of surah al-Mâ’ûn by the residents of ‎Muhammadiyah in Malaysia during the covid-19 pandemic. This research model is ‎a case study on the generosity behaviour of migrant workers or better known as the ‎Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) Muhammadiyah in Malaysia. This research ‎method uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is done by online ‎observation, interviews and documentation. This study applies an interactive ‎analysis through data collection, data reduction, presentation and conclusion ‎drawing. The purpose of this study is to determine the form of social activities ‎carried out by Muhammadiyah citizens in Malaysia who on the other hand are ‎migrant workers in response to the global covid-19 pandemic. The results of this ‎study can be concluded that the implementation of the value of social solidarity in ‎the Muhammadiyah community in Malaysia, especially for migrant workers, shows ‎that citizen philanthropy indirectly creates a cooperative activity, an activity of ‎mutual help and willingness to sacrifice for others. It is clear how some of ‎the residents participate in an unconditional way in trying to help other residents ‎who do not have basic needs due to the strict social distancing run by the ‎Malaysian Royal Government.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the development of Western thought and civilization according to H. M. Rasjidi by revealing its characteristics. This research is qualitative, with descriptive and analytic methods. The results found that modern Western civilization cannot be separated from the thoughts and reflections of their philosophers about the nature of life and the universe as well as their experiences in viewing the history of religion in the West. The system of the theocracy of the church has triggered the emergence of secularism which moves freely from the domination of church doctrine. This understanding was formed from rationalism, the Protestant movement, and humanism. It was from those processes of thought that the West can develop. So today they reject the spiritual values of religion. In the end, religion is undermined and only becomes a private matter. Religion is separated from state affairs, science, morality and serves only as ceremonial matters, such as; a ritual of birth, marriage, and death. In addition, Rasjidi argues that the West rejects absolute truth even though it comes from God. This Western view of life has become one of Rasjidi's special concerns because it has a direct or indirect effect on the lives of Muslims, especially in Indonesia.
