Abstract

Street sweepers in carrying out their work are very vulnerable to various risks, especially safety and health risks such as the risk of hearing loss due to noise, stress, dehydration, being hit by a vehicle, as well as health problems due to fatigue, bacteria, respiratory system disorders caused by inhaling dust and vehicle fumes. The purpose of the study was to determine the dangers and conduct an assessment of the safety and health risks of workers and to find out the control efforts that have been made to road sweepers. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. In conducting risk identification and assessment using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) standard AS/NZS 4360 method. The total risk level is 27 categories with details of 7 (seven) Low risk levels, 15 (fifteen) Medium risk levels, and 5 (five) levels of High risk. After controlling for each existing risk using the OHSAS 18001 guidelines, namely elimination, substitution, engineering control, administration, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). After the risk is handled with the hierarchy of control, the assessment is carried out again on the remaining risks of control with the results of the study on 27 risks down to 22 low risks and 5 medium risks. Keywords: Hazard, Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), Risk.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health procedures in a building are very important, especially in high-rise buildings, because a high-rise building has unpredictable risks, for example in the event of an earthquake or fire. Some of the Balikpapan University Building A buildings have been equipped with emergency stairs, but their utilization is not optimal. So that the security and safety of the emergency stairs is still far from the standard for the function of the campus building. This can be seen from the absence of evacuation signs from each floor on the emergency stairs. The research objectives are (1) General To determine the suitability of the emergency stairs in Building A, University of Balikpapan. (2) Specifically to find out the completeness of the emergency stairs of Balikpapan University Building A. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method in which the research results were described, analyzed and then drawn conclusions in finding conformity based on SNI 03-1746-2000. The results of the study found that the physical condition of the emergency stairs in Building A did not meet the requirements of the standard size and completeness of the means of exiting the emergency stairs, including emergency power sources, emergency lights, smoke control systems, emergency communications, openings for rescue routes, directions. egress and directional sign lighting. The conclusion is based on the results of the overall percentage data on the 1st floor to the 5th floor with an average value of 70% which is included in the criteria value between 50-80% in the "Enough" category for the physical condition of the emergency stairs in Building A. Abstract

Hazard analysis is part of the occupational safety and health program to find out the hazards that exist at each stage of the work carried out, so that control of the hazards and risks can be carried out to prevent work accidents. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the hazards that can be caused related to ship docking work using the airbag system and control of these hazards using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control method. The research method used by the researcher is using a qualitative method sourced from AS/NZS 4360. The location and time of the research is PT. Meranti Nusa Bahari and research objects in the form of airbags, and workers during ship docking. The results obtained from the hazard analysis on ship docking work have 4 stages of the process using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control method, with a value of 60% docking work in the Very high category, 44% in large category docking work and 20% acceptable docking work out of 15 dangers and risks in the ship docking work process using the airbag system. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to operator worker compliance in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This study uses the observation method and the interview method with a Cross Sectional approach which is carried out with the Chi-Square test. The subject of this research is the total sampling that is in the production section as many as 25 respondents. Based on the Chi-Square statistical test, it was found that attitudes and supervision had p-value <0.05, while the level of knowledge and condition of PPE had p=value> 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between attitudes and supervision in the use of PPE with worker compliance in the use of PPE, while the variable level of knowledge and condition of PPE did not find a significant relationship with worker compliance in the use of PPE. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of any influences that affect worker compliance with the use of personal protective equipment on fabricated workers at PT . Unlock the Main Techniques of Balikpapan. The sampling technique was carried out by total sampling which then selected 35 workers from the established criteria as samples. The results of the study using multiple regression showed that knowledge of workers, comfort of PPE and supervision of workers had a positive influence on the use of personal protective equipment. Worker knowledge has a significant positive effect on the use of PPE with t count > t table, namely 4.579> 2.039 or sig.t value (0.124) < = 0.5 . Meanwhile, the availability and comfort of workers were also found to have a positive effect on profitability with t count < t table, namely 1.197 < 2.039 or sig.t (0.03) < = 0.5. Likewise, the worker supervision factor also has a positive effect on profitability with t count < t table that is 3.903> 2.039 or sig.t value (0.066) < = 0.5
