Abstract

This paper examines the model of zikr taught by Sheikh Abdurrauf al-Singkili and its relevance as an Islamic psychotherapeutic approach to mental disorders. Through his works and the practices of the Syattariyah order, Abdurrauf al-Singkili emphasizes dhikr as a means of purifying the heart (tazkiyat al-nafs), cultivating moral character, and strengthening the soul through total surrender to Allah. Through qualitative research using documentary techniques, the researcher seeks to examine and explore the concept of dhikr from one of Indonesia's leading scholars of the 17th century, Sheikh Abdurrauf al-Singkili, who hailed from Aceh. The findings of this study indicate that Abdurrauf al-Singkili's dhikr, as an Islamic psychotherapy model based on the teachings of the Qur'an, can be used as a form of mental healing therapy. This can be understood from several aspects: first, Abdurrauf al-Singkili's zikir model is closely related to the spiritual dimension, which restores the balance of one's soul. second, It uses the tahlil formula in its practice, which theoretically involves deep faith in God, bringing inner peace to its practitioners. Third, The zikir model is highly practical and relevant for application, particularly in terms of breath control, which influences mental relaxation. Fourth, The zikir model relies on a spiritual guide (mursyid) as a director and guide in its implementation.

Abstract

Qur'anic and Diniyah Education Institutions in Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota have a strategic position in providing access to Qur'anic education services and early Islamic religious education for children. Most of these institutions face the limitations of inadequate education standards. Therefore, serious attention from relevant parties is needed so that the role of these institutions can be optimized. This research aims to analyze the contribution of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Regional Government of Lima Puluh Kota in strengthening Qur'anic and Diniyah Education Institutions. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. Respondents included teachers, heads of TPQ and MDTA, as well as administrators of FKDT, BKSTPQ, the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, the Head of the Education Office, and the Head of the Welfare Section. The results showed three main contributions, namely: (1) legality strengthening through the presence of Law No. 18/2019 on Pesantren which is the legal basis for the recognition, empowerment, and facilitation of pesantren in the national education system, (2) institutional strengthening through the issuance of Regent Regulation No. 33/2022 on Guidelines for the Development of Tahfizh Houses and Tahfizh Programs and the preparation of the Draft Regional Regulation on Pesantren, strengthened by technical implementation, and (3) financial strengthening through special allocations in the APBD for teacher welfare and capacity building.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth how religion functions as a source of moral and social legitimacy in confronting and resisting racism as depicted in Joko Anwar’s film The Siege at Bukit Duri. The film was chosen because it portrays complex social dynamics where religion operates not only as a belief system but also as a moral foundation that strengthens solidarity amid social tension and identity conflict. This research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis design to interpret the symbolic meanings of scenes that portray discrimination, injustice, and the community’s resistance against social and political hegemony. Émile Durkheim’s theory serves as the main framework to explain religion’s role as a social fact that shapes collective consciousness, maintains moral order, and reinforces human values. The findings show that religious symbols such as the hijab, religious figures, and the slogan “we are all the same” act as forms of moral legitimacy that strengthen solidarity against discrimination. The urgency of this research lies in its contribution to expanding the sociology of religion through popular media, which reflects contemporary social realities and demonstrates how religious values can become a means of resistance to domination.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited variety of engaging learning resources for teaching dance in elementary schools by developing SliMotion, an educational medium designed for third-grade students within the topic of movement and expression. The development process followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), integrating a board game and flashcards to encourage creativity, motivation, and active participation in learning dance. Data collection involved questionnaires validated by one content expert, one media expert, one practitioner, and trials conducted with 17 students. Data were analyzed using both qualitative descriptive and quantitative approaches. Validation results showed an average score of 3.65, categorized as very valid, with feasibility ratings above 92% from experts and practitioners. Student responses indicated high practicality at 93.2%, confirming that the medium is effective and easy to implement. The findings demonstrate that SliMotion provides an innovative and enjoyable alternative to conventional methods, significantly improving student engagement and learning outcomes. The originality of this research lies in integrating board game mechanics with expressive dance education, a rarely explored combination. This contribution highlights the potential of gamified media to enrich elementary arts education and promote interactive, student-centered learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid growth of the global halal industry, which continues to expand, including in Indonesia. The Governor of Riau has designated Riau as one of the national halal destinations due to its strategic location near Malay countries. The development of the halal industry in Riau is supported by government policies that implement Islamic standards from upstream to downstream sectors. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as socio-economic entities play an important role in the value chain of the halal ecosystem. Dumai City, known as the “City of Dreams,” has been declared a halal industrial zone. However, the city faces five major challenges: drug abuse, promiscuity, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and the spread of heretical teachings. These challenges contradict the vision of establishing a halal city. This study aims to analyze the efforts and roles of pesantren business units as drivers of the halal ecosystem capable of creating social change and influencing community behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative method involving three pesantren in Dumai City, the findings indicate that pesantren can serve as exemplary institutions in applying Islamic values to economic practices through the principles of honesty, justice, balance, trustworthiness, and the avoidance of riba(usury). Interviews also revealed that pesantren administrators instill four main principles in managing economic activities—honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), public benefit (maslahah), and freedom from riba. In conclusion, pesantren can serve as role models for the community in integrating Islamic values into economic activities and implementing sharia principles in everyday life.

Abstract

Learning boredom at the elementary school level is often triggered by the dominance of monotonous lecture methods and non-contextual memorization materials, thus hindering the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education and Ethics Education (PAIBP) learning. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital media, identify forms of learning saturation, and analyze the role of digital media in overcoming this phenomenon in SD N Karangdawa 02. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved school principals, PAIBP teachers, students in grades IV and VI, and parents as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation studies, which were then validated using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that the use of digital media in the form of animated videos and gamification integrated with active learning methods has been proven to be able to significantly reduce student learning saturation. Digital media plays a role in increasing motivation, visualizing abstract concepts, and transforming the classroom atmosphere into a more dynamic one. These findings confirm that successful technology integration requires synergy between teachers' pedagogical competence, school infrastructure support, and active parental involvement to create an innovative learning ecosystem for the digital native generation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering good character at SMP IT Al Fityah in Pekanbaru. Specifically, it seeks to examine the character-building efforts undertaken by Islamic Religious Education teachers at SMP IT Al Fityah in Pekanbaru. The method used in this study is a descriptive method employing a qualitative approach. Data collection procedures involved observation, interviews, and documentation. The interviews in this study were conducted with Islamic Religious Education teachers. The data analysis process used in this study included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers have implemented various effective strategies to strengthen students’ akhlakul karimah. These strategies include fostering religious practices, providing guidance, and consistently modeling exemplary behavior in daily school activities. The implementation of these strategies has proven to have a positive impact on changes in students’ religious attitudes and behaviors. These findings underscore that structured and sustained character development is crucial in supporting the success of character education.

Abstract

The varying levels of Quranic reading ability among students at Babussalam Junior High School in Pekanbaru require Islamic Education teachers to implement effective tahsin strategies so that daily Quran recitation sessions can truly improve students’ Quranic reading skills. The purpose of this study is to analyze and understand the Quranic tahsin coaching strategies implemented by Islamic Education teachers during daily Quran recitation sessions at Babussalam Junior High School in Pekanbaru. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to understand the Quranic recitation improvement strategies of Islamic Education teachers at Babussalam Junior High School in Pekanbaru through daily recitation sessions. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed to identify patterns and the impact of these strategies on students’ Quranic reading ability, fluency, tajwid, motivation, and religious culture. The results of the study indicate that the Quran reading abilities of students at Babussalam Junior High School in Pekanbaru vary widely, ranging from those who are proficient to those who are just learning the Arabic alphabet. A systematic and continuous tahsin coaching strategy by the Islamic Education teacher—including initial ability assessment, the talaqqi and simak methods, daily recitation, a focus on the articulation points of letters and tajwid, as well as individual guidance and peer tutoring—has proven effective in improving students’ fluency, accuracy of recitation, understanding of tajwid, motivation, and self-confidence. Efforts to enhance effectiveness—such as flexible learning groups, structured modules, collaboration with parents, teacher competency development, the use of audio-visual media, and a tiered appreciation culture—strengthen the quality of learning and foster students’ love for the Qur’an.
