Abstract

Asthma is a disease marked by chronic inflammation of the airways, with indications including wheezing, shortness of breath, and/or cough. As reported by GINA, the global prevalence of asthma is 1-18%. One type of asthma is Allergic asthma which is triggered by allergens, like Der p 1 and Der f 1 which upregulate type II immune response to secret IL-4 and IL-13 to upregulate IgE secretion. IgE binds to FcεRI in mast cells to release mediators that cause hypercontraction, this condition leads to asthma. Meanwhile, anti-inflammatory IL-10 manages IgE production by reducing inflammatory cytokine production and changing isotype switching. IgE Production is a crucial step. Therefore, it is essential to explore the cellular and molecular factors that trigger the regulated isotype-switching IgE and its suppressed mechanism, so this review will explore the biological activity of Der p 1 and Der f I and their contribution to inflammation and the role of anti-inflammation in allergic asthma especially isotype switching IgE We used PRISMA approaches, and tools (RSCB PDB, Uniprot, and SMART). The result appeared Der p 1, and Der f 1 activity have impacts on IL-4, IL-13, IL-10, and IgE secretion.

Abstract

Cancer, characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation, is a leading global cause of mortality. Targeting the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK), holds promise for anticancer drug development. FGFR4, a specific subtype, regulates various cellular processes, making it a valuable target. In-silico methods were employed to screen 20 compounds against FGFR4 (PDB ID 5JKG) using AutoDock Version 4.2.6. The top three potential inhibitors, based on Gibbs energy (ΔG) and inhibition constant (Ki), were identified: epigallocatechin3-O-pcoumarate (ΔG = -10.46 kcal/mol; Ki = 21.37 nM), 6_deoxoteasterone (ΔG = -10.22 kcal/mol; Ki = 32.35 nM), and epigallocatechin3-O-caffeate (ΔG = -9.78 kcal/mol; Ki = 68.16 nM). ADMETOX analysis confirmed compliance with Lipinski's rules, indicating their safety. These compounds show promise as FGFR4 inhibitors, potentially as standalone therapy or in combination with other anticancer drugs.

Abstract

This study aims to make ZnO semiconductor nanoparticles using annealing temperature variations for dye synthesized solar cells, identify the structure and particle size and surface morphology using SEM-EDX and UV-VIS to determine the wavelength and absorbance values. In the gel-combustion method, three samples were made with varying annealing temperatures of 700⁰C, 800⁰C, and 900⁰C, respectively. The annealing temperature variation shows the difference in SEM test results, where the higher the annealing temperature, the smaller the particle size. EDX test results show that ZnO has been formed. In the UV-VIS characterization results for the three samples have different transmittance values and wavelengths from samples without dye, ZnO doping chlorophyll. Based on XRD data, the higher the calcination temperature, the smaller the particle size, and the distribution of particle size at each increase in annealing temperature. Based on the results of SEM analysis obtained that the particle size is getting smaller with increasing annealing temperature.  According to the UV-Vis analysis results obtained that the addition of chlorophyll extract does not have a significant effect about wavelength 370 nm on the transmittance value of each sample, so the best absorbance is owned by the ZnO doping dye sample.

Abstract

Ruin theory is commonly used to predict the likelihood of bankruptcy for an insurance company and relates to the rate of surplus of the insurance company for the insurance policy portfolio. Considering the change in the insurance fund from time to time, the timing of the occurrence of a number of claims is highly taken into account. Ruin theory is necessary so that companies can anticipate and detect bankruptcy early. One way to help insurance companies minimize their bankruptcy chances is through reinsurance. In this paper, will discuss about application of ruin theory in computing two methods of reinsurance treaty, that is Quota Share Reinsurance and Excess of Loss Reinsurance to decide more effective method to minimize probability of ruin. Results show that Excess of Loss Reinsurance method more effective than Quota Share Reinsurance method to minimize ruin probability of insurance company.

Abstract

Myocardial infarction, resulting from coronary blood vessel blockage, inflicts lasting damage on the heart muscle. Meanwhile, breast cancer ranks among the most diagnosed cancers, causing millions of deaths annually. Mouse model research suggests that myocardial infarction induces systemic changes, fostering cross-disease communication that expedites breast cancer. Using GEO2R for transcriptomic analysis, Cytoscape for protein-protein interaction (PPI), and EnrichR for enrichment analysis, we explored the myocardial infarction-breast cancer relationship with datasets from GEO. We identified 3,300 differentially expressed genes, including 6 commonly upregulated and 18 commonly downregulated genes. PPI and enrichment analyses revealed RAD51 genes associated with homologous recombination pathways (P-value 0.02032). Additionally, 4 genes (RAD51, KIF4A, DTL, and DLGAP5) were linked to CD105+ endothelial cells (P-value 0.00002216), connecting myocardial infarction and breast cancer. Nevertheless, further testing is needed for accurate results and to support this study's transcriptomic analysis.

Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) production in Indonesia increased by 4.21% in 2022 compared to the previous year, but this production is still low by international standards. This is caused by low quality and quantity of potato seeds which is sourced from tubers. It is necessary to modify the in vitro cultivation of potato seed sources by utilising seeds that are often wasted with the addition of cytokinins, such as Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of BAP on potato axillary shoot explants sourced from seeds. The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design with one factor, namely BAP concentrations of 0, 1, 2 and 3 ppm with 3 replications. The results showed that there is an influence of BAP on the parameters of shoot growth percentage, leaf and root emergence time, plant height, number of shoots, roots, and leaves of potato axillary buds planlet. The 2 ppm BAP treatment tends to give the best response in increasing the number of shoots with an average of 4.33 shoots, making it effective for producing potato seedlings from axillary buds in vitro.
