Abstract

IRT Tiga Saudara was one of home industry in banana chips field product. Therefore it needed the one method to optimize the raw material inventory and decrease the order cost. The raw material inventory control could use lot sizing approach. The Result showed that accurate forecasting method was linear regression method, because it had Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) was 510.416, so it was still in upper control limit and lower control limit after Moving Range chart test. The lot sizing method that had lowest total inventory was Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), with optimal order was 526 kg and it was ordered 72 many times during 12 period in one year, reorder point level when raw material before end was 299 kg. The safety stock was 73 kg, so that the total cost was Rp. 790.500,-.

Abstract

PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VII Lampung is an industrial company that processes rubber processed materials into the rubber of type SIR 20. The problem that occurs with this type of product is that the PO content does not comply with predetermined quality standards. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of product damage using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, to obtain the greatest risk of failure in the production process in the value of the Risk Priority Number (RPN), and to provide recommendations for its improvement. The results of the data collection analysis are described through a Check Sheet Diagram to determine the damage from several rubber data samples of the SIR 20 type, then described the Cause Failure Mode Effect (CFME) to determine the factors that cause damage to PO levels originating from human, material and work environment factors. After that, describes the FMEA analysis to determine the RPN value, where the highest RPN value is the different rubber freezers, loud engine sounds and vibrations, and the operator's lack of accuracy in regulating the temperature of the dryer. The recommended improvement proposal is to receive good quality raw materials and increase the price of raw materials, as well as provide guidance to farmers about good types of rubber freezers, requiring the use of earplugs so that machine noises do not interfere with the operator's work, providing training and warning to operators not to make mistakes, and carry out intensive inspections of operators.

Abstract

Many local companies were that engaged in the manufacturing of coffee beans into semi-finished carelessly ready for export. To maintain the product to fit customer demand, it is very necessary quality control. The problems are the following: (1) The destruction of coffee still within the limits of control or not. (2) Any type of damage that occurs in coffee product were produced. (3) The factors that cause damage to the coffee product. (4) Application of statistical tools in controlling product quality coffee and pressing the occurrence of damage to the product. This study aims to determine how the implementation of quality control using statistical tools useful in efforts to control the level of damage to the product in the company. P control chart analysis results indicate that the process is in a state of uncontrolled or still experiencing irregularities. Based on Pareto diagram, priority repairs that need to be done is for the dominant type of damage that the black seed (25.68%), broken seeds (19.23%), brown seeds (17.60%) and more than a hollow seeds (15.99%). the causal diagram analysis can be seen from the factors that cause damage to human factors/workers, machine production, work methods, materials/raw materials and the work environment, so the company can take precautions and repair the damage.

Abstract

CV. Meuble Puspa Jaya adalah perusahaan industri rumah tangga yang bergerak di bidang produksi dan penjualan meubel. Produk CV. Meuble Puspa Jaya adalah kursi goyang bali. Permasalahan yang dialami perusahaan adalah belum optimalnya pengendalian biaya persediaan bahan baku kayu yang mencakup biaya pesan, biaya simpan, dan kapan tersedianya untuk membuat kursi kayu goyang bali. Tujuan yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis biaya persediaan bahan baku kayu pada produk kursi goyang bali dengan beberapa metode alternatif teknik lot sizing, yaitu metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Part Period Balancing (PPB), Period Order Quantity (POQ), Least Unit Cost (LUC), dan Minimum Cost per Period (Algoritma Silver Meal). Berdasarkan perhitungan yang dilakukan diperoleh periode yang paling optimal yang digunakan dan dengan biaya persediaan yang paling minimum adalah metode Minimum Cost per Period, yaitu dengan total biaya persediaan bahan baku yang digunakan sebesar Rp 477.000,00.

Abstract

The research aimed at using glycerol of biodiesel synthesis side product from used cooking oil as glycerol acetate material synthesis, and charactering synthesized material based on data of IR spectroscopy and GCMS. The method used to synthesize glycerol acetate was refl ux during 50 minute at 80 C. Glycerol from biodiesel synthesis side product from used cooking oil was purifi ed with acetic anhydride reacted at 80 0 C, for 50 minutes. The synthesis product was characterized by IR and GCMS spectroscopies. The result of this research shows that glycerol derived from synthesizing glycerol 1–monoacetate and glycerol 2-monoacetate in the form of yellow liquid with 145 148 0 0 C boiling point, soluble in ethanol and insoluble in n-hexane. IR spectrum shows the presence of C=O carbonyl, C-O ester, -OH, and C-H aliphatic group; GCMS spectrum shows a mixture from two glycerol monoacetate with SI (Similiar Index) of 97 and 93.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki efisiensi proses karburising pada baja karbon rendah melalui pemakaian arang tempurung kelapa secara berulang sebagai karburiser. Arang tempurung kelapa dengan ukuran 30 mesh digunakan  untuk lima kali proses karburising  secara berulang.  Benda  uji dari baja karbon rendah diletakkan dalam kotak karburising dari pipa baja diameter 50 mm tebal dinding 2 mm. Tiap proses karburising padat dilakukan dalam dapur pemanas selama 4 jam. Pengaruh pemakaian arang tempurung kelapa secara berulang pada   proses karburising padat dianalisis berdasar hasil uji kekerasan permukaan, case depth dan pengamatan struktur mikro. Case depth optimal setebal 300 urn terbentuk pada proses karburising menggunakan serbuk arang tempurung kelapa yang telah dipakai 2 kali proses. Arang tempurung  kelapa masih layak digunakan  sampai 4 kali proses karburising dengan kekerasan permukaan masih mencapai 642 VHN. Kata kunci: arang tempurung kalapa, karburising padat, baja karbon rendah

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam program kualitas yang baik, yang akan secara efektif mengeliminasi pemborosan dan meningkatkan kemampuan bersaing perusahaan, harus diwujudkan. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana pelaksanaan pengendalian kualitas kemasan glukosa dengan metode SQC (Statistical Quality Control) dan menemukan penyebab terjadinya cacat produk Glukosa dengan kemasan jerigen 20 liter proses sacharification, decolorization, deionization dan evaporation. Metode menggunakan alat bantu statistik berupa check sheet, histogram, peta kendali p, diagram Pareto dan diagram sebeb-akibat.. Hasil analisis peta kendali p menunjukkan bahwa proses berada dalam keadaan tidak terkendali atau  masih mengalami penyimpangan. Prioritas perbaikan yang perlu dilakukan untuk menekan jumlah cacat dapat dilakukan pada 2 jenis kerusakan yang dominan yaitu kerusakan kemasan tutup (43,75%) dan volume (40,34%). Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kerusakan produk adalah mesin, metode, lingkungan. Sehingga perusahaan dapat mengambil tindakan pencegahan serta perbaikan kerusakan.

Abstract

Perusahaan karet memproses karet remah menjadi karet dengan Standar Indonesia Rubber (SIR). Permasalahan yang sedang dihadapi adalah tingginya waktu kerusakan mesin (downtime) yang mengakibatkan sistem produksi menjadi terganggu. Rata-rata downtime mesin mencapai 2.84% setiap bulannya yang mengakibatkan kerugian bagi perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi metode perawatan yang selama ini berjalan kurang baik dengan memperhatikan faktor keandalan (reliability) mesin produksi. Oleh sebab itu, pendekatan Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) digunakan untuk menganalisis sistem tersebut untuk mengetahui komponen-komponen yang termasuk dalam kategori kritis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan metode RCM maka diperoleh tiga rekomendasi tindakan perawatan yaitu Condition Directed (CD), Time Directed (TD), dan Finding Failure (FF). Hasil perhitungan interval penggantian komponen dengan kriteria total minimum downtime (TMD) menunjukkan bahwa interval pergantian komponen Rantai Bucket Hammer Mill, pisau Screen, pisau Rotor Hammer Mill, Bearing Bucket Hammer Mill adalah 71 hari, 28 hari, 19 hari dan 52 hari.
