Rubber plant (Hevea brasiliensis) cultivation techniques against pests and diseases in Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 898-909. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Rubber plant (Hevea brasiliensis) is a plantation crop with high economic value and one of the important agricultural commodities in the international environment and also in Indonesia. Geographical compatibility conditions and soil types that support the growth of rubber plants (Hevea brasiliensis), make farmers in Tanjung Batu District use their land to cultivate rubber plants. Plant-disturbing organisms (OPT) are one of the obstacles encountered in rubber cultivation activities which interfere with growth and affect the yield of rubber latex production. The use of pesticides is mostly done by farmers who think they can get fast and practical results. The purpose of this study aims to evaluate farmers in rubber cultivation techniques against pests and diseases in Tanjung Batu District. This research was conducted from May to July 2022. The method used to observe rubber plants was using a simple purposive sampling method. The results of research on rubber farmers have different planting methods. The observed rubber farmers have the status of profit-sharing land. To increase rubber resistance to pests and diseases, fertilization and sanitation are carried out. Pests and diseases found on farmer's land, namely, leaf fall disease and termite pests.

Suhada MB, Ghozi Ma, Baihaq BB, Uary Z, Ningrahayu S, Putri NA, Umayah A, Gunawan B, Arsi A. 2022. Inventory of mites on chili in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 1049-1056. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The cause of damage to chili plants is caused by plant pest organisms (OPT), including mite-type pest organisms (Acariformes). This study aimed to inventory the types of mites that attack chili plants. Field research has been carried out on chili plants in three villages namely Timbangan Village, Pulau Semambu Village, and Palemraya Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra and Laboratory observations were carried out at the Entomology Laboratory of the Plant Protection Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted starting on August 26 to September 8, 2022. Sampling was carried out descriptively and data collection in the field was carried out in a survey with systematic random sampling technique at the observation location. Sampling of chili plants was selected when the chili plants had entered the production phase which showed symptoms of attack on chili. Samples of mites were taken from the leaves and individual mites were taken and then observed under a microscope. The results obtained from all samples showed that the red mites (Tetranycus sp.) and yellow mites (Polyphagotarsonemus latus) were the red mites (Tetranycus sp.) and yellow mites (P.latus). From the samples taken from the survey in three villages, two species of mites were found. Of the 7 samples that have been identified, a red mite species (Tetranycus sp) was found in the first village located in Timbangan Village. In the second village, located in Palemraya Village, from 5 samples that have been identified, a yellow mite species (P.latus) was found. The last village, located in Pulau Semambu Village, found the same species as Palemraya Village, namely the yellow mite (P.latus). The mites found in the study in the chili area in three villages in Ogan Ilir were mites of the species Tetranycus sp and P.latus. Mite control in chili can be done biologically by utilizing natural enemies of mites such as the beetle Amblysiuscucumeris Oriusminutes, Coccinellidae Coccinellarepanda.

Abstract

Akbar F, Wibowo AT, Samuel C, Rofi’ul AD, Dinza MF, S Raymod, Rio SS. 2022. Identify the symptoms of fire-worm (Setothosea Asigna) attack and the way it communicates with palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plants at the Unsri Farm, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 572-579. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Setothosea asigna is one of the important pests that attack oil palm plants and can cause economic losses. The purpose of this survey was to identify the symptoms of Setothosea Asigna attack and how to control it on oil palm plantations. The method used is by using the survey method, namely collecting data or information by taking direct samples at random. From the results of observations in the field, the results of the symptoms of the attack are clear. On the leaves observed, it is very visible leaves like burning. On the leaf blade there is an elongated hole. It is very clear that the impact that occurs on the leaves is that the strands are eroded from the bottom of the leaf to the top and this makes the leaves only leave the bones. In general, leaves that are attacked by Setothosea asigna are leaves that are getting old. As a result, oil palm plants cannot photosynthesize properly and the production of bunches is not optimal. In order to maximize the production of oil palm bunches, it is necessary to do intensive prevention and control of pests that attack oil palm plants, one of which is the caterpillar (Setothosea Asigna).

Abstract

Hidayatulah R, Apriliani S, Susilawati S, Ammar M. 2022. Comparison of production of red chili (Capsicum annum  L.) floating and non-floating systems at various doses of cow compost fertilizer. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 712-721.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Cow dung waste generated in livestock activities has not been utilized optimally. Manure produced from farms is continuous as long as the farm operates. This will be a problem because it will pollute the surrounding environment. To overcome this problem, the potential of cow dung waste can be used as compost for horticultural crops such as red chili (Capsicum annum L). This study aimed to compare the growth and production of red chili (Capsicum annum L. var. Gada F1) with floating and non-floating systems at various doses of cow compost. The study started with the cultivation of red chili varieties of Gada F1 by applying compost at various doses with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. The dose of cow dung compost used is 300 g/5 kg of soil; 600 g/5 kg of soil; 900 g/5 kg soil; and 0 g/5 kg of soil as control. Data were obtained from the calculation of plant growth and production which included height, number of leaves, diameter of the crown, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant and analyzed using ANOVA. If there is a significant difference, then it can be continued with the BNT test (Least Significant Difference). For the results of production observations which include fruit fresh weight, fruit length, and fruit diameter, an unpaired independent sample t-test was used. This t-test is used to compare the difference between the two means (means) of two independent samples with the assumption that the data are normally distributed.. With a non-floating system and application of cow compost at a dose of 900 g/5 kg of soil, it can provide the most optimal results for the production of red chili plants of the Gada F1 variety.

Abstract

Junita A, Nurhayani N, Afridayanti N. 2022. Temperature optimization in the incubator for fungi isolate storage Trichoderma Sp. at the laboratory of Phytopathology. 2022. Tulis judul makalah yang dipresentasikan di seminar ini. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 847-858. Palembang: Penerbit dan Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Trichoderma is one of the fungi as ingredient main used for practicum and research in the laboratory, one of the practicum courses in the plant protection department is the concentration of disease in plants, disease practicum always requires fungal isolates for identification. The method is a randomized block design with two treatment factors. The first factor is incubator temperature of 24, 28 and 30 oC, and the second factor is storage time of 10, 20 days, and 1 month. Variables measured were fungal colony diameter, thickness of mycelium, and color of morphology of Trichoderma sp. The isolates tested were Trichoderma sp. with 10 replicates which were then stored in an incubator with a predetermined temperature, the observation time was carried out for three months. The purpose was to determine the effect of the incubator temperature for the growth of Trichoderma sp. on the length of storage, so that it could facilitate the course of practicum and research with sufficient availability of fungi collections in the laboratory. The benefit of this research is that the laboratory manager can find out the optimal temperature and storage time in the incubator for the collection of Trichoderma sp. Based on observations from this study, it is known that the best temperature for storage of Trichoderma sp. namely at a temperature of 30 oC with the diameter of the fungus growing faster, more spores and the morphological color of the fungus Trichoderma sp. brighter.

Afridayanti N, Nurhayani N, Junita A. 2022. Feed management of beef cattle in the experimental cage of animal husbandry study program faculty of agriculture. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 1000-1010. Palembang: Penerbit dan Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The purposes of this study were to identify and study animal feed management in the Experimental Cage, Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Universitas Sriwijaya. The method used is a survey method consisting of primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained directly in the field through direct interviews with respondents in this case are the head of the cage and the staff of the cage, while secondary data were obtained from related institutions, namely the Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Universitas Sriwijaya and livestock environmental conditions. The data obtained are then processed and presented in the form of descriptions and pictures. This observations be discovered that the beef cattle rearing system using a semi-intensive maintenance system and the management of feeding beef cattle in experimental cages is quite good but for the provision of concentrate feed it is still less visible than the percentage of body weight of cattle which is on average less than 2% while for feeding forage only relies on forage around the experimental enclosure.

Abstract

Yanti P, Prasetyo CP, Zahra M, Nurjannah N, Apriani R, Anggreni UA, Umayah A, Gunawan B, Arsi A. 2022. The preference of various insect species in pan trap in long bean field (Vigna sinensis L.) in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 524-532. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Long bean (Vigna sinensis) is a vegetable crop that is often attacked by various species of insect pests, causing a decrease in the quality and quantity of plants that cause economic losses for farmers. This paper aimed to determine the interest of insect species to color preference as an alternative control of insect pests. Observations were carried out on long bean plantations in three villages, namely Tanjung Seteko, Tanjung Pering, and Permata Baru villages located in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra by using purposive sampling with 3 replications observed after 12 hours of installing pan traps which were red, yellow, green, and blue in the field. From research conducted on long bean fields in Ogan Ilir Regency, several orders of insects were obtained, namely the orders Coleoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Collembola, Orthoptera, and Thysanoptera. The total number of individual insects obtained in all trays in the field amounted to 1.005 insects. The level of insect species diversity on long bean plantations in Tanjung Seteko, Tanjung Pering, and Permata Baru villages were medium, low, and low, respectively. Insect species found in the long bean plantations are more attracted to the yellow tray. Among the four colors of the tray, insect species are more attracted to the yellow tray because the yellow color resembles the color of their food. The use of a yellow pan trap can be one on the insect pest control in long bean fields and can be a tool in monitoring insects in the field.

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 809-815.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Goldfish often find problems in ornamental fish cultivation, namely in terms of color and morphology of ornamental fish produced in Indonesia which are very unattractive, bright and bright fish colors are one of the main attractions of ornamental fish in determining their selling value, to determine the growth rate, increase in color brightness and carotenoid content of goldfish (Carrasius auratus) after being given additional feed in the form of indigofera flour, carrot flour and water hyacinth flour. The method used is a literature study by comparing the three types of feed, namely indigofera flour, carrot flour and water hyacinth flour. The results showed that several sources of -carotene in the feed gave different results in increasing the color brightness of goldfish. The 5% dose of indigofera flour and carrot flour was the best dose for the color brightness of goldfish, while the additional dose of water hyacinth flour given was the 300 g dose that was the best dose to support the color quality of goldfish (Carassius auratus). So, with the results of the three types there is a significant difference in the brightness level of goldfish color.

Abstract

Ariadi Z, Nurwahyudi MA, Efriandi E, Defriyanti WT. 2022. The determination of horticultural clusters using superior commodity approach in South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 954-962. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The implementation of horticultural development by regional governments in South Sumatra still has various obstacles, such as a large number of production centers with the same commodity, production adequacy, and budget constraints. Therefore, it is important to focus on the development of horticultural clusters. This study aimed to determine the horticultural clusters using the superior commodity approach in South Sumatra. We use horticultural production data series as data sources. We also use Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share analysis, and Klassen Typology as analysis methods. The results showed that each horticultural commodity tested had a comparative advantage and was spread over the districts/cities. The same conditions also occurred for competitive advantage. Another result showed that only 8 (eight) commodities simultaneously had comparative and competitive advantages in a district/city. Thus, it was determined that the district/city area where the two advantages are located is designated as a horticultural cluster. These clusters were the shallot clusters in Ogan Komering Ulu and Pagar Alam, the chili cluster in Ogan Komering Ilir, the potato cluster in Pagaralam, the duku clusters in Musi Rawas Utara, the durian cluster in Musi Rawas, Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan, and Musi Rawas Utara, the citrus clusters in Ogan Komering Ulu, Musi Rawas Utara, and Pagar Alam. mango cluster in Musi Rawas Utara and banana cluster in Muara Enim.
