Abstract

Astiko W, Isnaini M, Fauzi, MT., & Muthahanas, I. (2023). Effectiveness of amelioran on sandy soil to increase growth and uptake of NP by sweet corn. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 78-87).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sandy soil, which is porous and has a very low water holding capacity, is the main obstacle to increasing soil fertility and the growth of sweet corn plants. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of several types of ameliorants in increasing the growth and uptake of NP nutrients by sweet corn plants in sandy soil. The research was conducted in Moncok Karya, Pejeruk Karya Village, Ampenan District, and Mataram City from May to July 2023. The experiment was arranged using a randomized block design consisting of five ameliorant treatments, namely PO: Control (without ameliorant), PA: rice husk charcoal, PK: compost, PS: cow manure, and PC: a mixture of rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure (1:1:1) with a dose of 20 tons/ha. The results showed that the mixture of ameliorant rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure had an effect on the height and number of leaves of sweet corn plants at 2, 4, and 6 WAP, stover weight per plant, nutrient uptake, and mycorrhizal development. Application of 20 tons per ha of mixed ameliorant increased plant height, number of leaves, the concentration of available P, and total N in the soil, N and P uptake by plants, the number of spores and root colonization, and the weight of wet and dry stover plants in sandy soil. Amelioran formulation of a mixture of 25% cow manure + 25% compost + 25% rice husk charcoal provides the highest concentration of soil nutrients, plant nutrient uptake, and growth of sweet corn.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang  21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 192-198).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Koi fish are one of the ornamental fish that have cultivation prospects that are in great demand. One of the factors that influences koi fish cultivation is stocking density, high stocking density can have an impact on the growth rate and survival of koi fish. Fish density influences cultivation which can cause competition for food and space for fish to move which can affect fish growth. The aimed of this experiment is to determine the optimal stocking density for the growth and survival of koi fish seeds. This experiment used 2 treatments, namely P1 (stocking density of 200 individuals m2) and P2 (stocking density of 150 individuals m2). The results obtained in treatment (P1) with a stocking density of 200 individuals m2 were growth in length and absolute weight of 1.32 cm and 3.08 g and survival was 100%. The temperature during the maintenance period ranged from 27-28oC and the pH during the maintenance period was found to be around 6.5-7.9. It can be concluded that (P1) with a stocking density of 200 m2 is the best treatment for growth in absolute length and weight, survival and water quality during maintenance at a stocking density of koi fish.

Abstract

Wijaya, N.R., & Safrina, D. (2023). Trefle Gros (Tadehagi triquetrum (L.) H.Ohashi) potency as a medicinal plant and its cultivation: Review. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 626-634).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).As the return to nature lifestyle develops, various medicinal plant uses are increasingly in demand by the public. Tadehagi triquetrum (L.), known as trefle gros, is a plant with medicinal properties. Apart from being used as medicine, this plant from the Fabaceae family is also consumed as a substitute for tea. This plant, which grows at an altitude of 500-1400 meters above sea level, grows on hillsides and in bushes. Its appearance is like a tiny, woody shrub that grows upright. The leaves are oval with wings on the stalk; the compound flowers are purple; the pods and small seeds are light brown. The chemical compounds contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenols, sterols, hyperforin, trigoneline and amino acids. Plant parts such as roots, leaves and herbs are used in countries such as China, India, Laos and Myanmar to treat fever, coughs, snakebites, diabetes, tuberculosis and hemorrhoids. Research shows that this plant has potential as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-hyperlipidemic, immune-boosting, antibacterial, anti-cancer, hepatoprotective and wound healing agent. In general, T. triquetrum is not widely cultivated in Indonesia because little is known about its benefits and how to propagate it. This growth is generally obtained from nature, and the harvest is limited. Propagation can be done through seed germination, cuttings or tissue culture methods. The article aims to increase knowledge regarding the potential of T. triquetrum as a medicinal plant so that its existence can be used optimally.

Abstract

Barus, C.C., Himanah, H., Mahira, A., Sari, D.A., Cristina, N., Tyas, D.A., & Yonarta, D. (2023). Effectiveness of adding different doses of probiotics on the growth of catfish (Clarias sp.) at UPR Mitra Mina Sejahtera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 145-150).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).One of the problems experienced by fish farmers is that the price of the feed ingredients used is increasingly high and difficult to find. Therefore there needs to be a solution to overcome the problems with commercial feed by using the addition of probiotic feed to make it more efficient for the survival of catfish. The aimed of this research was to determine the effect of adding probiotics at different doses on the growth of catfish. The research procedures used in this research are preparing of fish ponds, adding probiotics to feed and rearing of fish. This maintenance uses 2 ponds of cement with a size of 1,5×1,5× L-1 m3 using 2 treatments with different doses, P1 is 10 ml kg-1 and p2 is 15 ml kg-1. The parameters observed in this study were absolute growth of length and weight, Feed Efficiency, survival rate and water quality. In this study, the absolute growth results of fish in P2 were higher than P1. During catfish rearing, it was found that the Feed Efficiency in P2 was lower than P1, which indicated that the conversion of feed in P2 was more efficient in being converted into meat. Fish survival obtained in P2 was also higher than in P1. Water quality (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and ammonia) during fish rearing was more optimal at P2 than P1. Based on the results of the research data obtained, the best dose of probiotics that accelerated growth occurred at P2 with 15 ml kg-1compared to P1 with 10 ml kg-1.

Susilawati, S., Tri, G. U., Bima, I. S., Saputra, M., Nanda, N. S., Putri, R. F. I., Salsabilaa, T. (2023). Response of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) to NPK Fertilizer Addition. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 298-305). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).One of the staple foods that is really needed by the community is horticultural agricultural products, where shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) have a superior position in this commodity. Shallots play an important role in various dishes, giving them significant economic value. Shallots, the main choice for human consumption after chilies, are used as a spice in various dishes. The aimed of this research is to examine the application of compound NPK fertilizer doses to the growth and yield of shallot plants of the Bima Brebes variety. The method used in this research was an experiment according to the rules of a Randomized Block Design consisting of 4 treatments, each treatment was repeated 3 times and obtained 12 treatment units with 3 shallots in each treatment, so that a total of 36 shallots were obtained. The results of observations of the fresh weight of shallot plant bulbs showed that there was no real effect. When observing the fresh weight of the tubers, the heaviest tuber was P3 (2.1 g NPK/polybag), namely 58.5 g. The element that plays an important role in the formation of tubers is phosphorus. The results of research on the dry weight of shallot bulbs showed that there was no significant effect. The largest dry weight of bulbs was that of P3, namely 47.6 g. The air-dry weight of the bulbs indicates that the fresh weight of the bulbs that have been air-dried, the amount of water content contained therein, has decreased in the shallot plant bulbs. The research conclusion was that the application of various doses of compound NPK fertilizer did not have a real effect. It is best that when cultivating shallots there is no need to add compound NPK fertilizer because applying chicken manure is sufficient.
