Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of mastery of prayer skills in grade V Elementary School (SD) students in Bayan District. Prayer skills are basic competencies that must be mastered by every Muslim student, but various reports show that many students still have difficulty in mastering these skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, involving 180 students from 5 elementary schools spread across five Bayan districts, North Lombok Regency. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling to ensure a balanced representation of various levels of school quality. The results of the study showed that it was known that as many as 131 students or around 73% were already fluent in performing prayers, while the rest, namely 49 students or around 27% were still not fluent. There was no significant difference in prayer ability in upper, middle, and lower schools, indicating that family environment factors and student participation in the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) had a greater influence. Based on the results of interviews with teachers, limited time for religious learning in schools and lack of direct practice were the main factors in students' low prayer skills. Student participation in TPQ was proven to significantly improve their ability to pray. Therefore, this study recommends improving practice-based learning methods, collaboration between schools and TPQ, and involving parents in guiding children at home. In addition, periodic evaluations are needed by the local government to improve the effectiveness of religious learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the disparities in mathematics learning outcomes of students instructed through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning methods concerning algebraic arithmetic operations. The study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. This research employs an experimental design using counterbalancing. The study population comprised class VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura during the 2024/2025 academic year, with the research sample consisting of classes VII-B and VII-C, each containing 34 pupils. The sample selection employed a purposive sampling method. Data on learning outcomes were obtained through a validated assessment instrument. We analyzed the pretest and posttest scores to derive normalized learning outcome values (N-gain). Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, we evaluated the N-gain value using non-parametric statistics via the Wilcoxon test. The study's results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning models, with a sig. ρ value of 0.401, which is higher than 0.05. The mean N-gain value in Teams Games Tournament (TGT) (0.93) surpassed the mean N-gain value of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) (0.92). The study's results indicated that student engagement in learning through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) method surpassed that of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model. The disparity in activity was substantial according to the Wilcoxon test, with a significance level of sig. ρ = 0.705.

Abstract

The policy of strengthening access at the vocational high school level necessitates the government's readiness to implement educational innovations that align with market demands, ensuring that graduates possess competencies compatible with the needs of the labor market. This study aims to describe the management of enhancing the competencies of educated personnel in vocational high schools in Bima City. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive inductive analysis. The findings reveal that: (1) the graduation rate among students at the four state vocational high schools in Bima City, which served as the research subjects, is notably high, standing at 99.6%, with only 0.4% of students failing to graduate. This elevated graduation rate reflects the students' competency in absorbing knowledge and skills within the school environment. Meanwhile, the absorption rate of graduates into the job market is at 61.54%; (2) the supportive factors for enhancing the competencies of educated personnel include the availability of educational facilities and infrastructure, adequate qualifications of educators, and government support; (3) the program aimed at enhancing the competencies of educated personnel in vocational schools in Bima City encompasses both a departmental skills enhancement program and a partnership program; (4) challenges in improving the competencies of educated personnel at vocational schools in Bima include limited access to training and professional development opportunities, characterized by a notable lack of entrepreneurship training. Furthermore, the school's policies have not yet optimally supported the ongoing development of teachers' competencies, evaluation of practical work has not been maximally conducted collaboratively between schools and industry partners (DUDIKA), and some vocational schools still lack the necessary facilities and infrastructure to meet standards conducive to skill competency and support the development of students' talents and interests. In conclusion, the research indicates that while the percentage of vocational school graduates is exceedingly high, it is along with a sufficiently adequate absorption rate in the job market. This graduation and absorption level synergizes with the support and programs developed by education stakeholders (school community, government, and DUDIKA), despite the presence of unresolved challenges.
